column. Should the second cover person have to take the point while the point person
pies a window or door, the third cover person would automatically shift his/her sector
of fire to the 45-degree oblique angle. If the second cover person has to assist the
point person in pieing a large opening, the third cover person would provide
security to the direct front while the fourth cover person would take the 45-
degree oblique angle. Marines following in the column would adjust their sectors
of fire accordingly.
The two columns provide mutual support for each other and the greatest all-around
security. Teamwork and coordination between the two columns are vital.
