This made a bad situation worse and Ecuador spiraled down into a defacto state of civil war, with belligerents mostly being aligned with the Los Choneros cartel and government forces. Over the past few months, prison riots, mass killings via gangs, and now IED blasts have become more common. The connection to why this matters to the US, is that back in 2018 one of the main power-players in Ecuador was the Tren de Aragua criminal syndicate. Venezuela: Yesterday a Venezuelan naval vessel ran aground off the coast while conducting a training mission. The ARV Capana (an amphibious landing ship) was observed by locals running aground on a sand bar, which resulted in her becoming stuck for a few hours. Middle East: The situation has remained both tense and chaotic as the return of captives' remains to Israel and various other developments continue to be a sticking point for lasting peace. Hamas officials have stated that there aren't any more remains that they can get to at the moment, which has caused tension. Analyst Comment: Major offensives remain tabled by both sides for now, however Hamas has conducted many mass-executions of alleged collaborators and/or spies, which has drawn the ire of President Trump who went as far as to threaten direct American intervention in Gaza (comments which he reversed-course on during a later press call). While that possibility is probably more of a knee-jerk threat than anything (after all, Hamas executing their own people for allegedly being spies doesn't really violate the peace agreement itself). Nevertheless, no one is out of the woods yet on this accord, and the situation can certainly flare back up into a big problem once again at the slightest provocation by any party. -HomeFront- Washington D.C. - This morning the White House announced that President Trump spoke with President Putin by phone, and that the conversation was very long and productive. Based on the description of the call as posted to President Trump's social media account, the call was positive and resulted in the scheduling of direct talks between the United States and Russia regarding the ending of the war in Ukraine. Analyst Comment: The implementation of higher-level direct talks with Russia is a positive sign, which has come about after weeks of decreasing relations regarding the war. The implementation of these talks also casts a bit of doubt on President Trump's previous statements regarding pushing Ukraine to conduct more offensives. Lately, there's been a lot of talk on the war by everyone involved, so it's anyone's guess as to whether or not all parties are interested in settling this war, but this will be a situation to monitor closely as talks continue. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: As one might expect, Venezuela has not acknowledged the Capana incident, nor are they likely to do so. Due to the nature of the information, at the moment all we have to go on is the standard shaky-cam footage provided by eyewitness observers, along with some aerial footage which does seem to show the vessel sitting lower in the water than she normally would. Considering that embarrassing incidents like this are often played up for effect by Venezuela's adversaries, the reports that the vessel has sunk are probably not true, at least not yet. Nevertheless, this does highlight the high-stakes nature of the fight, should war be the chosen course of action. Brown, a resident of Boston. Brown has a long criminal history, and has displayed violent intent (just for the sake of violence) for many years. The latest example of this history includes a previous incident that took place under nearly identical circumstances. In 2020, Brown engaged in a shootout with police in Boston in a similar manner to yesterday's skirmish. During that incident six years ago, Brown began harassing and threatening random people on Northampton Street, before engaging police in a gun battle in the street. Brown was eventually wounded and detained, after attempting to kill everyone in his immediate vicinity. In the news articles from that 2020 shooting, Boston Police Commissioner William Gross was quoted as criticizing local judges for letting people like this out of jail and giving them a slap on the wrist, as even in 2020, Brown had been given light sentences for his previous crimes. Nevertheless, Brown was sentenced to only 5 years of prison time by Suffolk Superior Court Judge Janet Sanders, who rejected the recommended 10-12 year sentence for the 8 counts of assault and battery with a firearm (while he was already on probation for other crimes). Immediately after being released, Brown continued to display violent intent and began to plan yesterday's shooting. Follow-on details regarding this case also confirm that this was not a random or spontaneous attack. Over the past few days, Brown had failed to meet with his parole officer, and had posted content on social media threatening police with a firearm. The morning of the shooting, police officers in Boston were issued his photo during their shift change briefings due to the security risks that emerged following his release. Local authorities also state that his cellphone was pinging in Cambridge before the attack, indicating that police were reasonably sure of his intent to conduct an attack, so much so that his cellphone was actively being monitored. Nevertheless, Brown evaded confrontation with police until the shootout began on Memorial Drive, which was possibly conducted in order to draw out a police response. Of note, police were not the only parties to engage the suspect; a citizen with a concealed carry firearm also returned fire toward the suspect during the protracted firefight which lasted several minutes. Washington D.C. - Over the weekend the White House backtracked on the recent changes to the H-1B visa system. Despite Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick stating in the Oval Office on the day of the announcement that the $100,000 fee for visas was per employee per year, the White House issued a "fact sheet" that reversed these statements, and that this is a one-time payment for companies seeking to hire non-American workers. Also in Washington, President Trump signed the Executive Action this afternoon designating ANTIFA as a Domestic Terrorist Organization. Analyst Comment: And now we wait. The verbiage of the order itself is not entirely indicative of how various federal agencies will respond to this, or what the outcome will be. Ordering agencies to police crimes that are already illegal isn't much help, but moving forward the most obvious theory is that federal terrorism charges might get slapped on any ANTIFA "Direct Action" attacks which are fairly standard in most major cities during periods of heightened tension. Only time will tell if various federal agencies are serious, though. Mississippi: On Saturday a hit-and-run accident was reported in Gulfport, which resulted in the death of a cyclist. Xavier Omar Rigby was arrested after hitting the victim with his vehicle, and driving approximately 8 blocks with her body on the hood of his car. Rigby fled the scene without calling 911, and was later arrested in St. Petersburg. California: The gunman which attacked an ABC broadcast station in Sacramento was detained over the weekend. Federal authorities state that Anibal Hernandez-Santana (an attorney, activist, and political lobbyist) conducted a drive-by shooting at the ABC Channel 10 television station in Sacramento. Analyst Comment: The motive for this shooting has not yet been released, but the shooter's posts on social media indicate the motivations for this attack. Even his own attorney has stated that the primary method of prosecuting him (besides the bullet holes in the ABC station) will be the radical posts that his client made on social media. New Hampshire: A mass shooting was reported over the weekend in Nashua, as a gunman targeted a wedding ceremony at the Sky Meadow Country Club. Local authorities arrested Hunter Nadeau at the scene, after event goers tackled him to stop the shooting. Despite these best efforts, one individual was killed in the attack, and around 6x people in total were wounded. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: Regarding the motive for the Nashua attack, witnesses state that the shooter shouted pro-Palestine statements during the shooting. However, investigators have stated that the shooter actually shouted many different statements so as to cause confusion during the attack and obscure his true motive. Texas: Overnight a group of Chinese nationals were arrested after attempting to illegally cross the southern US border in the vicinity of Eagle Pass. US Border Patrol trackers located the group of individuals who had crossed the border illegally and were concealing themselves on a private ranch. Among this group were a total of 6x Chinese citizens, who federal authorities have classified as Special Interest Aliens (SIAs) for reasons that have not been disclosed. In the photos of the group provided by Customs and Border Patrol, one of the Chinese individuals has a military-style haircut, and another individual is wearing military-style combat boots. Separately, social tensions flared up overnight, after a domestic situation spiraled out of control at a treatment center. Last night, police fired warning shots at the perimeter of Rwampara Hospital, as a crowd of people attempted to breach the facility to recover the bodies of relatives who had died from Ebola. Some Venezuelans were able to observe what they described as American vessels on the horizon, confirming the US Navy and US Marine Corps continue to conduct operations quite literally just outside Venezuela's territorial waters. Far East: Over the weekend two US Navy aircraft were lost at sea due to two separate aviation mishaps. One MH-60R Sea Hawk from the USS *Nimitz* was lost at sea while conducting routine operations in the South China Sea. All three crew members survived the crash, and were recovered from the water. About an hour later, one F/A-18F Super Hornet (also assigned to the *Nimitz*) also went down, with both crew members ejecting and being recovered from the water safely. Analyst Comment: Despite the seeming rarity of two downed aircraft occurring at nearly the same time, these things do indeed happen occasionally. Two aircraft going down due to mishaps within an hour of each other is not exactly a frequent occurrence, but it does happen, especially since the US Navy continues an extremely intense tempto of operations. An investigation will be conducted, to be certain, but at the moment these disasters point to the nature of these types of operations...it's a risky business. As such, it is a sheer miracle that all of those involved survived these incidents, and several investigations are likely to be carried out to determine the causation of these mishaps. Until more information is known, there's no telling what led to the loss of either aircraft. United Kingdom: Hadush Kebatu was recaptured after a day-long manhunt yesterday. He was able to evade capture for two days, despite not even trying to evade detection. Authorities claim that they are still investigating what allegedly went wrong in order for him to be released by mistake in the first place, but so far no details on this have been released to the public. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: So far, the development of the Kebatu case has been host to many concerning details which have inflamed tensions higher than they already are. For instance, he initially tried to return to the detention facility after his release, and remained in the vicinity of the facility for several hours. He was given a prepaid card with money, and generally spent the day walking around London on a light shopping spree, in one of the most heavily surveilled cities on Earth. Two days ago FEMA attempted to cancel all hotel vouchers for hurricane victims, while simultaneously not providing temporary housing. AC: After public outrage emerged that night, FEMA has extended the hotel vouchers one single day. However, in two days 3,500 disaster victims are set to be evicted from hotels during a very significant winter storm. As such, propane and gasoline shortages have emerged, as families try to do the best they can to prepare for what has remained a very serious disaster. California: Overnight, the Palisades Fire continued to advance mostly westward, with significant firefighting efforts successfully slowing the fire's eastward advance into Santa Monica. Similar efforts in the north have stifled the Eaton Fire's advance south, however almost all areas north of I-210 remain under various evacuation notices or warnings. North Carolina: Counter-ICE operations have intensified as deportation operations move to Charlotte as part of Operation CHARLOTTE'S WEB. So far over a hundred illegals with extensive criminal records have been arrested throughout the city since the operation began a few days ago. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: In Charlotte, a very interesting development was observed over the weekend as ICE moved into the area. The Compare Foods grocery store announced free home delivery of grocery items during the period of time that the ICE operation is expected to take place. This food store primarily serves the Latino community and most of their social media posts are in Spanish. While they don't explicitly state it in their social media posts, the implication is clear...this company intends to cash in on the illegals who are ordering goods from home, because they're wanted by ICE. If the feds arrest the store management for aiding and abetting, the city will burn for nothing and the same local Charlotte judges who regularly let murders go free will absolutely let a grocery store manager go free as well. On the other hand, if the feds do nothing, this could get out of hand and the American people should expect many more corporations to conduct similar operations. Concerning the latter possibility, this is probably the most likely outcome as criminals have become emboldened to an extreme degree over the past few years, and it is this small grocery chain that has pointed out a VERY important detail with American commerce...boycotting a business because they are criminals only works if the bulk of customers are not criminals themselves. Charlotte is now experiencing what happens when a tipping point is reached in an area. When illegals are a minority in an area, one set of operational practices is observed. But when illegals, Cartels, drug traffickers, and the like reach a critical mass, more open confrontations are usually the result. We saw this in Aurora, Colorado with Tren de Aragua (when they openly occupied apartment buildings) and we saw it again in Los Angeles when Cartels openly had their footsoldiers besiege federal buildings during the riots a few months ago. As inflammatory as that idea may be for some, this plan is patently obvious at this point despite all of the efforts to gaslight and deflect from this truth. Of course, American discourse on this issue is largely tainted by the blackmail and manipulation of our politicians, and a gaslighting of the American people at large. In American society the most important facet of any conversation pertaining to the Palestinian question is that of denunciation. The slightest criticism of Israel simply is not allowed throughout American society without immediately condemning Hamas within the same breath, to the point that sheer conversational exhaustion abounds. This social implication alone has compromised all discourse on the region for decades. Granted, participants of the pro-Palestine movement here in the U.S. aren't doing themselves any favors either, both with their actions and the reality of the larger ideology at play not exactly endearing to (or being congruent with) American culture. United Kingdom: Tensions remain palpably high following over a dozen high-profile migrant crimes coming to light over the past few days. In the Midlands, 2x Afghans were convicted of brutally assaulting a 15-year-old in a public park in an incident which the authorities have openly admitted to covering up due to civil unrest potential (the suspects' own defense attorney stated that if the video of their attack were to be made public, it would spark a riot). Separately, a different Afghan migrant (identified as Sultani Bakatash) assaulted two girls in Manchester a few days ago. Analyst Comment: Over the weekend, it was also discovered that the wife and children of the current leader of ISIS in Somalia lives in taxpayer-funded housing in Slough, which has inflamed tensions further. Abdul Qadir Mumin was known for encouraging terrorism throughout the U.K. before fleeing to Somalia around a decade ago, leaving his wife and children behind while he wages jihad with about a thousand fighters in Somalia. Sharon Henderson was arrested and indicted on charges of fraud pertaining to her activities during the COVID era. Rep. Henderson is accused of falsifying her employment status so as to obtain special benefits that were made available to those who were forced out of a job due to COVID. In order to get these benefits, she allegedly claimed to be a schoolteacher after actually leaving the job to campaign for the seat that she currently occupies. North Carolina: This afternoon a stabbing was reported at North Forsyth High School, which prompted a lockdown of the local area. Concerning casualties, one student was killed in the attack. Analyst Comment: At the time of this report, this is a developing story so the details will change. Right now it looks like this might have been a personal dispute and/or gang activity. Though very unconfirmed at this time, some photos have circulated local social media, which are screenshots of a video depicting the incident. The photos indicate this murder took place as a result of a fight between students. Illinois: This morning, an ICE raid was reported in Elgin, which rapidly deteriorated into a state of chaos. ICE personnel were targeting a High Value Individual (HVI) by the name of Jesus Acosta Gutierrez, a local TdA affiliate. During the raid, a large crowd formed and caused a riot during the arrest. Analyst Comment: The suspect was eventually captured, however this was one of the more kinetic arrests in the area. The key takeaway from this incident is that, per local reports, activists were on-scene to the site of the raid *before* ICE agents had even arrived themselves. This confirms that the DHS continues to have intelligence leaks which impact operations. This is not the first time this has happened in this specific area due to extremely lax Operational Security (OPSEC) by some of the people who have knowledge of impending operations. Kentucky: This afternoon a shooting was reported at Kentucky State University. 3x people were wounded during the attack, with one possible fatality being reported as well. Analyst Comment: This incident was first described as an Active Shooter situation, however as the situation developed this appears to be more of a general crime incident and not a deliberate/targeted mass shooting attempt. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comment: As it is relevant to the stories that have been popping up in the UK (and the US) over the past few weeks, a very specific bit of backpocket knowledge is helpful for rounding out the context of what's going on. In many cases, the individuals who are committing these horrific crimes are self-described "teenagers", when in reality they are fully-grown adult men. Age discrepancies are no excuse to commit horrific crimes, however in most justice systems around the world juveniles get a lighter sentence. And since the migrants have no identity documents to prove their age, the British government simply takes them at their word, and so a very obviously 30-year-old man becomes a 17-year-old so as to avoid a harsher sentence. This mentality is also used to sometimes gain access to children in the first place. Often times this is the scenario: We hear about a "high school student" being arrested for some horrific crime. The mugshot comes out, and the internet collectively thinks "that guy is a little old to be in high school". In most cases, this is a correct assessment; the initial birth certificate documents that migrants claim to have are incredibly easy to fake. This is an extremely common tactic that is used around the western world, from H1B's in the US to migrants from northern Africa making their way into the United Kingdom, there are now a whole lot of mugshots that allegedly depict a "juvenile", when in reality it's just an adult man who is lying because the procedures to verify one's identity are completely nonexistent when it comes to mass migration. In the context of the Midlands attack, one of the Afghans convicted of the crime plead guilty one single day before he turned 17, and thus will escape both adult charges and deportation. Despite the prevalence of this tactic being used, it is incredibly easy to prove either way. The exact age of a suspect can easily and quickly be identified with a simple x-ray of the hand and wrist. The Tanner-Whitehouse 2 (TW2) method is a non-invasive way for a radiologist to determine with shocking accuracy the exact age of a child, based on the development of bones in the hand. By the time a person is a fully-grown adult (i.e. not a juvenile) the bones are fully formed and thus very apparent on the x-ray. This method won't work that well for someone trying to slide in under the line by pretending to be 17-years-and-364-days-old to avoid adult charges, but it certainly will work to pick out the 40-year-old man from a high school classroom. Despite how well this works for this task, this method is not really used in the criminal justice field except in extreme cases where the suspect is very obviously lying (as opposed to more believable lies which if noticed, are usually conveniently ignored). Even in the best cases, it's circumstantial so this Bone Analysis is not usually conducted at all. All in all, this might help explain why some rather interesting mugshots keep popping up in both the United Kingdom, and the United States. Local authorities state that all of these shootings stem from the same incident, which appears to involve an individual in a vehicle, traveling eastbound on I-70 shooting at other vehicles also traveling the same direction. Later that night, a fifth shooting site was located after a man was found wounded in his vehicle at the intersection of Truman Road and Bennington Avenue. This man later died at a local hospital. All total, five different vehicles were targeted, and a total of four people were wounded, and one person killed, during the attacks throughout the day. By this morning, the link between all shootings was discovered, and the suspect was located at his residence in Independence, where a barricaded-shooter situation is currently underway. More details are expected as the situation develops. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: In the United Kingdom, the Rape Gang Inquiry Report was released last night. This report was compiled by a Parliamentary effort led by MP Rupert Lowe, with the goal of investigating the official documents and criminal cases of mass the rape of British society by Pakistani men since the 1950's. North Carolina: The victim of a murder on the Blue Line rail system in Charlotte has been identified as Iryna Zarutska, a Ukrainian refugee. Zarutska was stabbed to death on the train by Decarlos Brown Jr. on Friday night. Minnesota: The Rochester City Attorney's office has made the decision to charge Shiloh Hendrix with three counts of disorderly conduct. The individual who harassed her and her child has not been charged. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: As a reminder, Hendrix was the individual at the center of social tensions a few months ago for her statements during a playground altercation. However, as time went on this became a much larger issue than a woman using bad words in public. Her accuser, the man who filmed the viral encounter, was eventually identified as Sharmake Beyle Omar. Omar had previously been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a child in 2022. More specifically, the initial criminal complaint in that case stated that Omar (and another assailant) lured a child away from her foster home to conduct the attack. Some time later, all charges were inexplicably dropped against Omar, and he was let out of jail without any explanation given. The victim was never identified or heard from again. As such, when the Hendrix story first broke into the news cycle, the focus remained on Hendrix, but the biggest story was why Omar was in the park in the first place. It turns out that what began as a story about bad words being said on the playground, ended up exposing a sick freak trying to target children once again....AND the deliberately negligent criminal justice system who let him go in the first place...the same justice system which is now targeting Shiloh Hendrix. It might not seem to be important to be aware of these types of events, but this is why this story matters. It's not just a question of free speech...it highlighted how governments are releasing criminals to terrorize the citizenry, and actively supporting the dregs of society as they continue to harm others. In follow-on interviews, Trump stated that the tariff is "not sustainable, but that's what the number is", but also responded positively to China overall, stating that things were going well and the meeting with President Xi Jinping in South Korea will continue as planned previously. Louisiana: This afternoon the FBI announced the arrest of a Hamas fighter that allegedly took part in the October 7th attacks in Israel. Mahmoud Amin Ya’qub al-Muhtadi was arrested in Lafayette after having gained legal entry to the United States in 2024 (though he did lie about his alleged career as a fighter in Gaza in order to get a legal visa fraudulently). Analyst Comment: This marks the first major arrest by AG Bondi's Joint Task Force 10-7, which was stood up in February with the goal of investigating the Oct 7th attacks. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: Of note, another round of "No Kings" protests have been scheduled for tomorrow, October 18th. So far, the event organizers appear to be re-using the same map from last time; most of the protests are carbon-copies of the events that were planned during the first round of protests. ANTIFA will probably break things as usual, and many different senior retirement homes are likely to take part in the events like the first major No Kings protest day. Small arms attacks are likely, if nothing more than from uncoordinated security (such as the Salt Lake City shooting during the initial protests). Other concerns that could cause more kinetic situations lie in the world of social media and the lack of any cooling of tensions among far-left groups. In a podcast two days ago, former CNN anchor Don Lemon encouraged illegal immigrants to obtain firearms and violently resist ICE deportation operations. Brushing aside the minor detail that it is a felony for illegals to possess firearms due to being criminals, this does highlight the risks moving forward. Like it or not, people do indeed listen to influencers, on the political left and right. When an issue as vitriolic as illegal immigration comes on the scene, the potential is high for lone-wolf attacks to be carried out by some mentally ill individual who listened to the internet. The recent sniper attack on the ICE facility in Dallas is evidence of this, and the countless vehicle ramming attacks carried out by mentally unstable individuals points to the sheer number of people who are interested in carrying out further violence. The aerial platforms weren't exactly operating covertly, but they did leave on their own. Either way, there's no way to know for sure at the moment. -HomeFront- Florida: This afternoon, Ryan Routh, the second would-be Trump assassin was found guilty on all counts pertaining to the attempted shooting at the Trump International Golf Club in September of last year. Upon the verdict being announced Routh attempted to stab himself with a pen, unsuccessfully trying to injure himself. Routh was briefly removed from the courtroom, after this incident, before being returned to conclude the trial. Analyst Comment: As a reminder, Routh chose (and was allowed) to represent himself after he felt discrepancies with his court-appointed team of attorneys, and thus was granted more leeway during this trial. Considering that he had written a note confessing to the crime in explicit detail, his arguments were unsuccessful, leading to his conviction on all counts. New York: Yesterday evening the US Secret Service announced the dismantling of a major telecommunications threat allegedly targeting the UN General Assembly currently underway in New York City. The USSS uncovered a series of locations concentrated around the UN building, which were configured to degrade communications around the city, mostly in the form of hundreds of SIM servers and around 100,000 SIM cards. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: At face value, these locations appear to be configured to swamp cell towers with increased traffic, so as to degrade cellular networks. As to why this attack vector was chosen, it's anyone's guess. Normally, attacks that are meant to degrade (but not exploit) a certain communications method are used as a way of social engineering...if a target's cell phone doesn't work, they might be inclined to use a different comms method that is more easily surveilled. Though this is pure speculation, what is very clear is that there is a very high likelihood that the UN General Assembly would be a target for many different malign actors, to include nationstate-level intelligence operations. There are many different ways to target a meeting of world leaders that is vastly easier than strategically renting apartments around the city, to fill with a bunch of electronic hardware. In their press release on the operation, the USSS did not comment on what exactly these sites were being used for; their statements were more generalized, and that these locations could be used for a wide range of attacks and surveillance operations. Caribbean: Yesterday evening the Pentagon announced the formalization of the effort to combat drug trafficking in the region. The mission is now called Operation SOUTHERN SPEAR, and is expected to expand into a broader military campaign. Analyst Comment: So far, not much has come of this, it's really just giving a name to bring the whole effort under a unified umbrella of command. However, it does highlight that this campaign is just that...a campaign. The end goals of this mission as stated continue to be vague, just the general concept of combating drug trafficking in the region. -----END TEARLINE----- Analyst Comments: This afternoon, Venezuelan accounts on social media published footage of a shootdown incident involving Venezuelan F-16's and an unidentified civilian aircraft. Per the reports, Venezuela shot down the unidentified civilian aircraft. At the moment two videos have been circulating on this topic and a few photos that reportedly show the impact site have emerged as well, so at face value this does appear to be a genuine shootdown incident. However, most of the context is missing; this could have been a mistake, or something to do with narcotics trafficking, or even more of a military/espionage sort of thing.
