hello again everyone and welcome back to the underground this is the intel update for friday the 20th of may 2022 and it is being recorded the day prior on the 19th of may so let's get to it got a lot of stuff to talk about today so i'm just going to start off with critical infrastructure concerns and really the the kind of oddball out is uh the twitter slash elon musk debacle situation that everyone's been following uh over the past few weeks um really i don't have a whole lot to say about this um it seems like the deal for elon musk to purchase twitter is still kind of on hold slash limbo due to third party audits revealing that a significant portion of twitter twitter accounts are actually fake which is something that was not disclosed by twitter as part of the agreement so i guess we'll have to see how this works out the only reason i'm mentioning it is because again everyone's been talking about it and i guess social media like twitter especially twitter um people rely on it whether or not you like it or not i'd personally despise twitter no matter who owns it i just don't like it as a platform but despite how i feel about it it doesn't really matter it's still a huge communications platform for a lot of people on the planet so um i guess we'll have to keep an eye on this and see how it goes my guess is that elon musk will probably eventually end up buying twitter and seeing how that goes as far as whether or not it will be a good platform or not after that i don't know i highly doubt it um despite what many people might seem to think on the internet i personally don't think that um really any billionaire is the savior of mankind right so um i have so i have serious reservations and and i'm highly doubtful in anyone actually being able to provide social media in such a way that it's productive because i don't think that most social media especially twitter is a place where any kind of rationalism can thrive so i will be very interested to see how it goes and i think really the biggest part is the second and third order effects of this uh if i almost think that it's probably not a good thing uh because if elon musk takes over twitter and it's he's publicly stated that he is no longer a democrat and he is going to vote republican in this next election um the fact that he said that makes me think that there's going to be a a whole lot of conservatives uh rushing back to twitter uh because they've been banned from twitter and it's kind of obvious that twitter is a leftist platform i think that a lot of people are going to rush right back to twitter and we're just going to continue this goat rodeo for the next few years and i don't think that's productive i think that there needs to be another answer that's why we've been working on our our own solutions to this problem i don't think that twitter is going to be a safe haven for anyone and i don't think that it's going to be very much different than in the past you might have a lot more conservatives on it but i think that at the end of the day it's still a money-making platform and i don't think that it's a place for any kind of free speech to to take place so being like i mentioned the second and third order effects are going to be interesting to see what happens from this but other than that i'm really not interested in really following the my new details of of who owns twitter at any particular moment what i'm vastly more interested in is number two there which are the food distribution center fires which finally someone has noticed that an awful lot of food distribution centers production facilities packaging factories and warehouses have burned down lately now the mind my mind immediately thinks huh interesting isn't it this plays directly into the themes of food shortages being instigated by the government now i will say that there is very little evidence either way it's just a gut feeling that there's something fishy going on when at a time when food security has never impacted more people in the united states rationing is already at an all-time high since the great depression suddenly food distribution centers start burning down weird isn't it i don't know about anyone else but i don't believe in coincidences the the correlation in this example is way too strong to ignore even if there's really no evidence to indicate causation there's no evidence to indicate what's exactly happening so we're going to keep an eye on it obviously and i agree that that all of these warehouses burning down is more suspect than a than a ballot drop box but i really don't have anything at all to point fingers at any entity for the reason behind these fires but i would say that it's awfully convenient for the us government who is constantly and consistently trying to target the u.s citizenry such as the infant formula shortage moving on to number three the infant formula shortage is the result of a few things for one a few months ago i'm pretty sure most people don't remember but a few months ago there was a nationwide contamination of infant formula causing huge disruptions in the market again as we've said many times in the field of logistics a single factory being offline for just a short time results in widespread shortages and significant logistical challenges immediately however the shortage has directly been made worse by the us government in the form of the fda not allowing major factories to come back online until they meet us government standards now i must say that i do not know if this is a situation of the us government holding these factories hostage by forcing them to meet unmutable standards which is slowing production or if it's something else i think i think that's the case but i'm not really sure it could also be a case of manufacturers dragging their feet for a variety of reasons but again i'm inclined to think that the us government has a huge hand in this because of what happened immediately after the story of infant formula shortages going viral almost immediately this was used by pro-abortion activists as a way to push their ideology i cannot tell you how many times i have seen pro-abortion activists directly saying oh you can't feed your infant well you should have aborted it i have seen that specific line a lot brought to you from the same regime that said if you had an electric car you wouldn't be affected by fuel prices and shortages the same exact mentality has been applied to having children and i can barely contain my own anger just to get through this but this is what i'm seeing so yeah there is a lot of evil in the world these days and things like this confirm it so for the specific shortages of infant formula the fact that this has now gone viral means that there will be shortages everywhere there will also be shortages of things that parents with infants also need as well the rationale being once parents realize that the logistical supply chains relating to their infant are vulnerable they will buy as much stuff as they possibly can not just formula we're talking other baby supplies as well at least that's probably what i would do if i had an infinite home i'd be stockpiling as much of everything as possible so i'm not going to patronize parents by saying only buy what you need and don't panic buy because i know that's a futile effort when it comes to newborns instincts take over and we just have to realize that panic buying is going to happen so hopefully production capacity will be able to meet demand and we'll uh we'll get through this but in the meantime things are are not going to be super great along those lines moving on to number four fuel shortages as literally everyone in the country knows the entire country is suffering from high gas prices and availability issues as well so it's kind of a twofer right what's a much bigger problem than high gasoline prices is diesel shortages right now there is a shortage of diesel fuel all along the east coast which is going to wreak havoc on industry and the logistical transport of everything so availability is an issue but so is cost commercial truckers are kind of freaking out over this and rightly so because in many cases across the country the costs are so high that they can't even break even uh if it takes four thousand dollars worth of fuel to transport cargo from a to b and you're going to get paid three thousand dollars to do that that's a net loss so right now we're seeing a lot of trucking outfits especially independent drivers taking losses due to these high diesel prices and and other shipping costs and things high gas prices for standard gasoline are also going to sharply increase pretty soon at least that's what the internet seems to think i've seen some estimates by professional logistical think tanks that are expecting gasoline to possibly hit 10 dollars per gallon by the end of this year and i don't say that lightly and i don't say that to freak everybody out but right now a lot of gas stations are retooling or reprogramming their their pumps to account for double-digit gas prices so next time you're fueling up check and see if the pump has been retrofitted and had the screen replaced to actually add an additional place for an extra digit that alone is a pretty big indicator because gas stations are not going to go through that expense which surely is pretty high unless they truly believe the gas prices will get that high i i personally can't even imagine gas hitting double digits just just me thinking about it in the past i would have thought that some kind of civil rebellion would break out long before gas prices get close to double digits especially since we know that the earth has enough petroleum to last humanity like another thousand years or so what i mean is is clearly these gas prices are a politician's invention and the result of political decisions it's not a supply thing domestic gas prices are clearly being influenced by the federal regime which is all too happy to find a way to target the average american and since we're sucking all of our strategic reserves dry the federal regime is creating the conditions for things to get really really bad later so even if things stay the way they are with regards to fuel shortages and prices we're screwed but does anyone want to take a guess as to when the next cyber attack on a pipeline or pol processing facility is going to be a cyber attack that the fbi will magically be able to solve a week after it shuts everything down exactly everyone should expect that by now cyber attacks that are attributable to no single actor and yet the federal government is able to magically solve the problem after the damage has been done i would consider that a new norm in this fifth generation war so with all this cheery stuff out of the way let's move into something more exciting significant governmental actions and up first is number one uh the issue of the army's new recruitment ad for the psyop community the perpetual pain in my rear i wasn't even going to talk about it but i figured i probably should because it has a slight variation of our logo in it and for those that haven't been following us for a while we have no affiliation with army socom or really any government agency or service branch at this point the ghost icon actually comes from a historical military unit that i personally thought was kind of cool because i like to study military history and i once did a term paper on them so i picked that because i we needed a logo for instagram a couple of years ago and a buddy of mine spent exactly four minutes drawing this so and after a while it just stuck um and recently other groups agencies and organizations have picked up the ghost logo and used it as well including army psyops which is which makes sense because they're the descendant of that original military unit they're trying to look to history to rebrand the psyop community into something vastly better than it is so they're bringing back an icon from their glory days which i understand to be honest and since we're not talking about it as far as the analysis of the video i think that it's hilarious and also tragic at the same time you would think that the people who would be able to read the room the most would be the psyop community but apparently not somebody down at bragg should have thought hmm you know right now with all this information warfare going on maybe we shouldn't put this out because the american public is going to take it the wrong way but no nobody thought that and guess what your cloak and dagger message that would have been really cool 10 years ago now brought you into the spotlight so way to go genius remember i'm an analyst by trade so i guess i'm biased by knowing the culture of military intelligence but i personally am not concerned or scared by any of the messaging in the video i don't think it's particularly nefarious i think it's what military leadership would look at and think man that's a cool recruiting video now right now a lot of dudes in the psyop community are high fiving over this ad which kind of hints to the effectiveness of the organization as a whole and for the people that are going to say oh they're just talking about controlling the narrative out in the open because they always tell you their plans for the prophecy to be fulfilled right let me stop you right there the military side community is not that there is a gigantic grand canyon of differences between military intelligence and domestic civilian intelligence the two communities are not compatible which is why it's hilarious to see someone talking about the intelligence community like it's one big thing the intelligence community is a dozen or so directors of various agencies making decisions without listening to anyone beneath them i was a military intelligence analyst for over a decade and i never once considered myself to be part of the intelligence community i could barely get my own commanders and bosses to listen to me much less a congressman or the director of an agency so to think that the intelligence community actually does any intelligence at all is laughable it's a political organization and it always has been and on the military side of things the psyop community is mostly known for six weeks of planning replanning and more planning just to drop a load of leaflets or make a single social media post that no one is going to read anyway so all in all the sciop community is about as efficient and professional as the military intelligence community which is to say that it's crippled by bureaucracy about 50 years behind the times when it comes to doctrine and tactics filled to the brim with people who are just looking to appease their boss to get a promotion and largely irrelevant when compared to one dude on instagram making memes i mean come on guys i really hate to burst their bubble but man this ad is disappointing if the psyop or soft community at large i guess cannot take the pulse of america and realize that this recruiting ad makes them out to be the enemy of americans that speaks volumes about their effectiveness they can high five and pat themselves in their backs for finally creating a non-woke recruiting ad that is cool and 10 years ago i would agree with them this would have had people lining up to join just like those navy recruiters that set up tables outside of movie theaters that were screening top gun back in the day remember that i get it i really do but not today this ad was a swing and a miss too little too late and only effective at making regular americans look at the socom community with suspicion so if you want an indicator of measures of effectiveness there you go i look at this ad as a resume for army psyops and i'm not impressed again i would have been impressed 10 or 15 years ago but right now if we crack open the psyop handbook and start evaluating this information campaign on target demographic and effects achieve this was a disaster if these guys can't even get their own advertisement right what am i supposed to think about the rest of the military psyop community the goal of this advertisement was to recruit people into the psyop community but what did it really do time will tell if it failed on the recruiting aspect but there's two things that it did succeed at number one freaking out civilians and making the psyop community look like the enemies of the people and two bringing a community that thrives in secrecy into the public sphere they shined a spotlight on themselves at a time when they are trying to fight an information war with russia and china and everyone else so all in all this is again disappointing i really shouldn't be disappointed after all the dod's motto these days is to lower your expectations right i know my navy guys out there know what i'm talking about so sorry for the rant but i felt like bursting bubbles today i've seen a lot of talk over the past couple of weeks because a lot of people have gotten too big for their britches over this ukraine situation a lot of military commanders think that based on russia's poor performance in ukraine they could beat them easily since that war is a war of information as well i've been seeing a lot of people thinking their hot stuff just because russia is doing poorly so i occasionally like to remind people that a dozen people making memes on instagram is more effective at shaping narratives than the bureaucratic upper echelons of the psyop community up next is the proposed rule changes for this year for the who's international health regulations and yes this is really obscure um this kind of ties into the who treaty that a lot of people are talking about which is it's slightly separate but it's kind of kind of the same thing it's really complicated um but i did see this being mentioned online and i wanted to kind of calm the situation down a bit um every few months we get inundated with emails about something to do with the who or the un or nato um i remember last year the story was the chinese had invaded canada remember that one the videos circuit there's like one grainy video circulating of chinese troops patrolling the canadian wilderness and setting up secret bases right um or better yet container ships full of chinese troops being landed in california man that that story was completely made up and it was a thorn in my side all last year um it was completely false with like the tiniest tiniest gram of truth um and it circulated like wildfire online and um big social media accounts occasionally picked it up and in turn my inbox filled up well this event the whole rule change has a lot more validity so i want people to be aware of it but i also want to prevent it from slipping down the same road as other stuff and getting kind of spun out of control so here's what the deal is the who the world health organization maintains this thing called the international health regulations kind of like a set of rules that member states have to abide by sort of like an international standard for health events you see where this might be going and every year there are additions or corrections made to the set of rules and this year the biden regime submitted some rule changes that have raised some eyebrows again to prevent this from slipping into the realm of propaganda a lot of websites have popped up calling this an attack on the united states sovereignty and that these rules allow the who to override the us constitution i would encourage you to read the document yourselves i will provide the link in the description and i will put it on the sources slide as usual i have read it and though i am certainly no lawyer i do not see anything that jumps out at me as being holy cow get your kit yes these proposed rule changes are not good and grant the who a lot more authority and i'm going to put a fat asterisk next to that word authority for later so remember that but when i read this i thought ah they're trying to poke china the proposed rule changes look like they're meant to target china which is interesting if you take the politics out of it which is hard to do i understand but if you look at it objectively you got to realize that china caused a lot of problems for the world they warped the entire health care industry especially in the international scene and allowed the perfect conditions for tyranny to run rampant but they also completely negated world health care issues and the entire planet's infrastructure for handling like legitimate contagions right so all in all please read the document yourselves but nowhere do i see anything that allows the who to do anything really and coming back to that asterisk on authority you really have to understand how non-binding international agreements really are and that's not even considering the fact that the united states is going to have to ratify this you know the congress is going to have to ratify it which they i mean honestly they probably will because all of congress is on the side of the bible regime right on stuff like this so but even taking that into account honestly all international diplomacy is just lip service the only international diplomacy that decides issues is war the who says we order you to do x and a nation says make me and the who backs down because they aren't going to be able to win that fight over something that small i'm doing a really poor job of explaining this but just know that i'm not so concerned about this particular document what's going to happen on the national or international stage is beyond all control from us mere citizens anyway and this applies to the the who treaty that people have been talking about that is sort of along the same line so you can kind of cut and paste you know the the kind of explanation over onto the wha treaty type stuff so again there are efforts i will agree there there do seem to be efforts um that world leaders are taking to create more of a world government right it's called globalization right that's just it's just the way it is like look at the um world economic forum i mean there you go there's your platform right if anybody is surprised by this at this point i don't know what to tell you but again if and when international agencies start challenging us authority more than they already do we citizens will of course do what needs to be done whether or not the biden regime literally walks into the national archives and shreds the constitution by hand or if they sign away our natural rights to an international conglomerate the effect for you and me is the same so even if the bible regime and congress and the supreme court sign away all of our rights and sign up americans for complete totalitarianism my life doesn't change that much because i'm already living as if totalitarianism is here because it is i've talked a lot about this before especially after the election but what's done is done and the fact that we are in the situation we're in that alone has obliterated all of our founding documents and our founding ideals at least on an institutional level socially yeah we can still talk about that but institutionally is there anything that matters anymore they're going to do what they're going to do whether or not they sign a piece of paper to it or not the bible regime did plenty of things without actually signing an executive order anyway for how many companies went above and beyond to follow laws that did not exist we covered that extensively too so they don't exactly need a treaty or a piece of paper to bring in totalitarianism but if they want to formalize it i guess that's probably what they're going to do so again i've beat this horse enough but hopefully that explains my line of thinking with things like this 20 years ago yeah they probably would have thrown a president under the jail for anything that the biden regime does on a regular tuesday they just break laws that often but that's not the world we live in anymore things have changed so that's really all i have on that at least until something else comes out about it then i'll probably be forced to talk about it even more moving on to number three the supreme court leak um this of course is something that everyone has probably probably already knows about um but i think that if you were to go look up what uh clarence thomas has been saying on this uh i think he he is probably the best source for what this means for the for the future of the court now i personally am no fan of clarence thomas for for many reasons but um i do think that he's correct and i think that he has given the most accurate uh portrayal of what this means for the court i think that of course out of all of our government right out of all of our government all three branches um their authority comes from the perception of their authority right and their force comes from the perception of their force when people realize that they can't back up what they're saying we have things like minneapolis riots right so if you have that on an institutionalized national scale if people start realizing hey if we don't do what the supreme court says um what are they going to do about it they have no enforcement ability and the biden regime figured this out a long time ago with regards to their uh medical mandates right they just openly stated that they're not going to follow stuff if you guys remember the press secretary um saying that so it's like well what are you gonna do you know when the supreme court says something and you say no we're not gonna do that um does that mean the supreme court is kind of irrelevant i think so and to some degree so again the supreme court thing i think is just an illustration of the larger problem which is i don't know maybe maybe maybe a collapsing society maybe a decaying civilization i don't know maybe a fifth generation war i don't know either way clearly the institutions particularly the justice institutions are um they're not doing so hot right now and arguably they haven't been doing so hot for a very very long time so i guess we'll have to see what comes out about this um and this is kind of related to the next one number four which is the uh inevitable second amendment infringements that are going to happen um due to recent events so moving on to that one uh just in time for the election cycle there have been multiple attacks conducted by people with firearms over the past few weeks i honestly have a lot to say about this latest one the one that looks like the most obvious false flag attack since the vegas shooting but i'm not really going to go down that road too much all i will say is that every single thing about this attack screams that it was a false flag attack that's just my gut feeling i've really nothing other than that the guy was a socialist communist and his manifesto has been blacklisted by all media because that's what he said in it which counters the narrative of white supremacy um much like how mainstream media forgot all about the dc sniper a couple weeks ago because he was a black supremacist this latest incident is of course being shaped by the ministry of truth as much as it can be which includes removing his manifesto from the internet because specific wording in the manifesto was suspiciously similar to other shooting incidents honestly this guy looks like a fed that infiltrated a white supremacist group to get clues but they never really accepted him into the group so he had to go to wikipedia for his narrative which is why nothing he said or did looks like something that a real supremacist would say or do and something else very suspicious is the fact that he said all of the magic buzzwords and used all of the magic gear that feds want to ban anyone with common sense can see that there's something going on here but since i have nothing concrete all i can do is grumble to myself and watch what's going to happen and here's what's going to happen the atf is going to use this incident to get a new director that will make david chipman look like barney the dinosaur the bothering regime is going to ban whatever they can get their hands on and even average us citizens are not going to follow those rules companies particularly small companies that sell firearms or firearms gear or parts are going to get the shaft and most importantly federal agencies are going to allow communist groups and terror groups like blm to run rampant with their violent rhetoric which is already completely unchecked by any counter-terror organization which actively encourage these people to target people based on their ideology again this is all my own opinion which i guess is my magic caveat that is my polite way of saying that i don't care if people disagree with me and i say all of this with a bit of vested interest which is why i wanted to remind everyone to stay vigilant and watch your back i know everyone says this all the time but we here recently got a not so pleasant reminder of how important it is to remain vigilant in public i do not like to talk about my own experiences with the tension in public these days because i only see a very small part of the world i don't travel all over the country and i don't have a really good sample size for making an assessment of society at large i guess and i live in an extremely politically insane location so my own personal experiences are certainly not representative of the nation as a whole but one of my staff members here almost got killed or seriously injured yesterday when two people in a vehicle crossed multiple lanes of traffic to try and run us over in a parking lot while we were out running some errands i cannot go into too many details for opsec reasons but based on the occupants of the vehicle who were both wearing face masks and the political statements on the vehicle it was pretty clear to me that it was a racially motivated attack which is probably more sad to me than any other kind of attack to be honest but we here are all okay i was a bit better off than our rider who was much closer to buying the farm than i was but they were able to evade in time but it was a close one thankfully at least one bystander checked to see if we were doing all right but everyone else that saw the incident did nothing as expected again i'm talking about this nonchalantly because honestly this kind of thing is super common in my local area at this point i don't live in a historically bad or high crime area i mean it's not that it's not the nicest place but even in my very small part of the world the city centers are absolutely insane and this has only happened over the past couple of years really and no we did not involve local law enforcement because our local police department does not respond to crimes like this anymore in fact we would be lucky if anyone even answered the phone when we called 9-1-1 so we didn't even bother they just tell you to come in and fill out the report at the station which i am not going to do because the police department is located in an extremely high crime area and people are routinely attacked or mugged going into that station because people know that anyone going into the police station is unarmed again if this sounds crazy it is but i'm not trying to harp on how much my own local area has gone to hell in just a couple of years i'm mentioning this as a plea for everyone to be careful watch your back and do what you have to do to be safe out there because even in a place like where i live where crime really wasn't a thing just a couple years ago there were basically no arrests in my area just a couple of years ago and i have zero indications that things like this will get any better anytime soon so again be careful out there i know not a super cheery way to end this segment but that's always the way it is isn't it oh well nature of the content i guess so let's move to international issues up first is russia uh i'm obviously not going to be talking too much about it due to youtube's policies which ban us from talking about anything bad ukraine might be doing um so we're just not going to talk about it but the thing i did want to talk about is this anti-russian sentiment and how things have gotten out of control on that front i'm just going to say up front you always need to leave someone and out like on the high school debate team you never want to back someone into a corner because when you do they just stop playing the game and nothing productive happens and the russian people have been hurt thousands of russian mothers will never see their sons again and all because of a war that they didn't ask for russia has lost more soldiers in a month than the u.s lost in afghanistan in 20 years think about that for a second think about how you felt every night when dan rather cut to a soldier's d.a photo as the nightly news ended using the same b-roll from the last time a soldier got killed i don't know about you but i damn near lost it every time and i still get angry thinking about how my youth was spent watching soldiers photos scroll by on the evening news now think about what russians are feeling right now with their extreme losses i don't know about anyone else and even though youtube has ordered us to not talk about ukraine's crimes i'm not going to kick someone when they're down even if they are an adversary russia has learned many lessons all of them the hard way and even though the anti-russian mass hysteria is in full swing my personal opinion is that if the west keeps kicking russia when they are down we are not going to like what that brings in the future for me russia is an adversary but not an enemy the relationship between russia and the united states is competitive and adversarial on many topics for better or worse but for me the russian people are certainly not an enemy my enemies are the people that started this mess on all sides and in my day-to-day life my enemies are certainly more domestic than foreign at this point right now with all of this anti-russian hysteria people are playing with fire they're playing with fire and they don't know it because the political elites are treating this ukraine situation just like every other issue they use to rile people up years ago it was occupy wall street then climate change then it was religion by way of refusing to make a wedding cake then robert de niro's anti-jab stuff then back to climate change then russia gate then veganism or election stuff and back to climate change then blm and antifa then the virus that cannot be named then back to climate change again then ukraine and now roe versus wade i wonder how much youtube is going to shadow ban this video just because of that paragraph i just read but anyway you see the point ukraine was just a play thing which has apparently now been cast aside but ukraine out of all of these issues was a very dangerous thing for mass hysteria to latch onto there are real concerns here this is not a game there are real defense issues to work through both tactically and socially within the us military there are lessons to be learned in the civilian sector too most of all among citizens again for tactical and social reasons all i'm saying is that there are a lot of things going on right now with regards to russia and ukraine and this mass hysteria that we're seeing is severely warping what should be happening like we mentioned before banning russia's access to banking is a crime but visa and mastercard did it anyway that's going to come back to bite us hard things that we do not think about are also affected think about the international search and rescue community the us and russia coordinate a lot of rescue efforts because we have joint agreements with regards to search and rescue satellites same thing with a space program or international shipping or trying to work with china because russia is the only quasi friend that china has got so our efforts to combat china are affected by russia too even though i personally think russia was definitely in the wrong to invade ukraine poking the bear and letting mass hysteria get way out of control so that that poke becomes a shove is not productive right now we need world leaders to put on some big boy pants and solve problems rather than creating them like they always have done we need people to mediate international relations and start working towards solutions for this because this has gotten way nastier than i think anybody ever expected but that's warfare for you but no what we have is incompetent world leaders playing with fire because they either one don't remember the cold war for what it really was or two have been in politics for so long that they are incapable of seeing any form of reality and that in my opinion is not good and speaking of this russia craziness let's move on to finland and sweden joining nato potentially so for those who haven't heard finland and sweden have both officially submitted their applications to join the north atlantic treaty organization and the proceedings are kind of going on right now right now it's everything's kind of stalled as far as i know um turkey is kind of holding up proceedings a little bit and kind of causing a ruckus but um a lot of people are going to ask what does this mean and is this good or bad uh i don't know if it's good or bad but i will say that it's not good for relations and it's not good for tensions it will escalate the situation even more than the u.s has over the past month in my opinion like i have any bearing on world events or what i say matters whatsoever i think that they should have waited finland would still have been perfectly justified along with sweden and norway and joining nato two or three years from now granted i understand that they are trying to strike while the iron is hot and never let a good crisis go to waste but this i think is too soon russia is still wounded from how the ukraine situation worked out and right now they are likely to lash out in ways that we are not going to like so i think that finland and sweden joining nato is going to cause more problems than its worth clearly russia is incapable of taking even ukraine arguably the easiest target on their border to suggest that russia even has the slightest hope at successfully invading finland or sweden or poland for that matter is laughable granted if i was finnish or swedish or norwegian i would feel differently historically being situated close to russia has been hazardous for one's health so scandinavian countries increasing their civil defense is always a good idea i think that civil defense is one of the best justifications for even having a government but also it's one of the most under-utilized sectors of government here in the us our civil defense procedures haven't been updated since the 1980s which is a shame but anyway nato membership yeah i think that that's going to cause more problems than it's going to solve norway sweden and finland certainly do not have large militaries but they are vastly more prepared than ukraine was in 2014 and they have history and geography on their side so all in all i think this native membership situation is a result of politicians getting something rather than a legitimate defense effort and it's going to cause russia to react and russia's reaction is going to escalate an already tense situation even more and it's going to justify everything russia has done as is russia has no leg to stand on but if scandinavia joins nato russia can say look they really are trying to surround us we need to strike first a very dangerous position to be in and that's exactly where we're heading moving down to india and sri lanka there is mass civil unrest underway right now the situation in sri lanka is not doing too well uh sri lanka is basically out of fuel which is a major barrier to food shipments around the nation india also has stopped exporting wheat because of their own food security issues which has caused even more food shortages than sri lanka because they're a major obviously a major trading partner in short the people of sri lanka are starving and pandemonium has been the result of that there's an old saying that we are only three meals away from total anarchy meaning that if a population's food supply gets disrupted for even just a single day for three meals in a row mass hysteria and civil unrest will result right now sri lanka is finding out exactly how true that idea is and it seems to be pretty accurate on social media i found some pretty gnarly stuff including local politicians being tortured and beaten by their starving constituents i obviously cannot show these videos here and i'm not sure if i'd want to anyway because if you just search out there yourself you'll find some pretty nauseating stuff in any case the situation for sri lanka does not look good and even though the situation is desperate it does not hold a candle to the international famine we will see if this trend spreads to the rest of southeast asia or even elsewhere so keep an eye on sri lanka and india too hopefully the logistical nightmares can reach at least some level of resolution soon and finally somalia the biden regime has deployed several hundred soldiers to somalia and yes i know what you're thinking nothing bad has ever happened in somalia right well right now the biden regime has stated that the number of troops will be capped at 450 but my assessment is that this is what we call a lie this is because the department of defense proudly concealed the true number of troops that were in afghanistan under trump and especially in the past couple of years everything the dod has done has indicated that the upper echelons of the dod is purely rotten to the core so my guess is that those 450 troops will probably be double triple or even quadruple that simply just for tourism patches and that's not including the various odas and teams that have been in somalia for years fighting al-shabaab aqap and the like groups which will only increase in size the reason for this deployment has yet to be released however i have my own guesses a couple of weeks ago there was a regime change and the new guy in charge was backed by the u.s shocking i know but now it looks like the us is protecting their investment and at the same time trying to counter china's influence in the horn of africa which has been expanding significantly under the guise of counter piracy so i don't know if somalia is going to be the new afghanistan i highly doubt it it's just it's a completely different fight it's a completely different set of mission set it's it's not really comparable but you never know right the dod is is all about furthering the military industrial complex because you know politicians in uniform have got to get their raytheon stocks up right so there's no telling what's going to happen um like i've been saying for a long time there are a lot of bad dudes in in africa with regards to um al qaeda and things like that the the sahel region out west and to the north north part of this northern part of africa and north saharan region man they're just eat up with aqap dudes and and al qaeda and al-shabaab and a lot of other groups that i forget same thing in sudan ethiopia eritrea places like that it's just become a hot spot for global insurgency and um you know i guess the opinion is you can have different opinions on whether or not we should be there or not uh and i think there's opinion that's a valid question to ask for sure uh but there's nothing i can do to change a dod's deployment right so i don't know what's going to happen is going to happen i guess and uh for those of you who have not been reading up on somalian history that right now would probably be a good time hello again everyone and welcome back to the underground this is the intel update for sunday the 10th of july 2022 and it is being recorded the day prior on the 9th of july so let's get right to it up first as usual our infrastructure incidents and concerns and we're going to kind of breeze through these a little quickly because there haven't been too many that are worth talking about in the infrastructure category this time around but up first in the northeast in connecticut there was a grocery store that caught fire and burned down in the early hours of the morning of july 4th really no information on this whatsoever just wanted to point out that it did happen uh it's kind of a smaller grocery store it's not a national chain and grocery store fires are unfortunately quite common so i don't know if this one is more to fairies or not just wanted to kind of put it out there moving down to the southeast uh i'm sure there was something that happened of note but i haven't quite found it yet so uh through my several hours worth of digging i haven't really found anything worth talking about for the southeast so we'll just go ahead and go to the east central midwestern region which of course again not very much going on this time around but there was a fire metal processing facility i think this one is very vague again more some of the more industrial fires in uh smaller townships don't really get a whole lot of press uh if they get any press at all so even the local news agency for this one out of white house ohio didn't know what in the sam hill was going on with this one so it looks like it was just a small fire at a metal processing facility uh the cause is unknown and of course the investigation is underway so it is this one looks like more more of your routine ones but but you can't really tell of course because there's just no information on it again keeping michigan in our minds we have the abbott laboratories flood recovery no news on that front so we're still waiting for an update from abbott laboratories moving to the west central midwestern region same story nothing really new to a report i'm sure something happened but i haven't found it for this time around so let's go down to the southwest in which case there was only one thing of note and it was of course again a liquid natural gas pipeline fire so this was out in fort men county texas there was a decently large as they always are pipeline burst in the middle of just a farmer's field so i don't know if somebody clipped it with you know some kind of agricultural implement as is extremely common because for those of you who don't know most pipelines are pretty they're not very deep underground they're only a few feet in most cases sometimes less than that so people hitting pipelines is not exactly an uncommon thing to have happen in in a lot of areas but again this one was in such a remote area and there wasn't any apparent construction going on in the mid immediate vicinity so there's no real telling uh what the cause of this was but again since it's a pipeline burst explosion type thing we're probably not going to hear about what the cause of this was and finally for the west again nothing significant to report so let's go ahead and move to the suspicious fires really only have two fires to add for uh this briefing and that is on july 1st in paterson new jersey the greater assembly house of prayer caught fire this one have no information on it whatsoever moving on to number 10 we have on the 8th of july in waverly tennessee a fire at the glenwood church of christ this one is we have a little bit more information on but still very sketchy not a whole lot of information gets put out there with regards to church fires specifically church fires but the local authorities have been kind of hesitant to say that this is under investigation for arson but the even just the local sheriff kind of commented that this is just one of seven or eight suspicious fires in the local area over the past few weeks so it looks like there might be something going on there in waverly tennessee but again we have seen this this kind of behavior pop up in various places around the country just these kind of arson style incidents right so again we're really probably not going to hear a whole lot about these suspicious fires that have been occurring around the country because we can call them suspicious but you know if a local jurisdiction calls them non-suspicious fires then you know where are we gonna what are we gonna do you know there's if that's kind of where the investigation stops you know the investigation stops right so uh we'll move on to the more unfortunate slides which are the kinetic incident trackers now i had to change this uh quite significantly because i did not have nearly enough room to make these all make these fit all on one slide so we're gonna have to break these down again by a region so we'll start again with the northeast region and talk about some of the more kinetic incidents that have occurred over the past 90 days or so really the two newest additions to this unfortunate uh tracker come to us from worcester massachusetts and they are two centers uh that were the target of jane's revenge in roughly the same kind of area and those were the problem pregnancy which is a clinic and again a clear way clinic as well so two pro-life clinics or resource centers or however you wanted to word it were attacked again by jane's revenge who claimed these attacks on their websites moving down southeast we have quite a diverse arrangement of terrorist attacks for this cycle uh beginning with the new additions for this time which are on the 3rd of july in hillsborough north carolina the holy family catholic church was vandalized no agency has claimed this particular attack but it was most likely antifa due to the graffiti they left behind this is just again one of many different church vandalisms that has occurred over the past 90 days the next day on july 4th also in north carolina in asheville north carolina there was an ied attack uh on a local statue or what the site of a former statue so again this is not particularly surprising asheville north carolina has a pretty solid antifa uh sort of left-wing militant presence and it would make a lot of sense because asheville actually took down a lot of their statues remember when last year or the year before last where all of the you know every government agency was looking to destroy any kind of history they possibly could of the civil war or things like that asheville north carolina had a lot of statues that they tore down and it looks like a couple of dudes affiliated with antifa or some other leftist group tried to build some homemade pipe bombs to blow up basically the the base of where a statue used to be so there wasn't a statue there anymore the the government had already destroyed it or removed it these guys were just trying to do to make again some kind of stupid attack on the site of where a statue used to be but again they were arrested of course and um i guess we'll see how that goes probably will be bailed out almost immediately uh but on on the same day in richmond virginia there was a mass shooting that was actually thwarted by a local citizen so this is a very interesting case that of course has been blacked out by the media because the two guys who are planning on conducting mass shootings against soft targets at july 4th celebrations uh these two guys were illegal immigrants so of course the mainstream media would not report on this kind of thing but i thought this was a very interesting case because the attack was thwarted very interestingly of course the richmond virginia police claimed 100 of the credit uh but it was actually stopped by a concerned citizen who reportedly overheard their plans to conduct a mass shooting so i'm very interested to see what the details are because overhearing a terrorist attack being planned is that almost never happens so was this were these guys literally like discussing their plans like in their house and their neighbor heard them or were they discussing it in a public location and someone overheard it i'm not entirely sure but either way this concerned citizen reported uh what they heard to the local authorities who then searched their place and got them to confess slash found all of their uh the weapons they were planning to use yeah very interesting case of domestic terrorism uh being thwarted on u.s soil again by concerned citizens so very interesting case indeed and finally in georgia one of the more interesting cases that i'm sure has swept all the way through the bottom depths of the internet by now uh this is the ied attack on the georgia guidestones so this is a very very very interesting case depending on how far you want to go down the rabbit hole of weird stuff on the internet and so for those who don't understand why this is such a polarizing slash interesting event it really surrounds the georgia guidestones themselves which are a very controversial monument that was put up a few years ago by unknown secretive groups slash agencies slash individuals right uh and this you can go read the wikipedia page before it gets deleted from the internet about what the georgia guidestones actually said um but it's depending on how strange you want to get into it what's undeniable i should say let me just start there what's undeniable is what the tablet says said it's a stone series of stone monuments kind of like an american version of stonehenge right our stone monument outdoors in the middle of nowhere that has some really weird inscriptions on it uh basically ten commandments so to speak for humanity i guess but the reason why this has been so controversial is what the commandments are so what's undeniable is that these tablets endorse things like mass genocide population control medical tyranny eugenics and things weird things like that right so of course it's going to get a lot of press when something like this gets blown up a lot of people have in the past attributed this as like a a monument to like either satanism or just like a sign of the antichrist or something like that like a world economic forum thing it's really hard to kind of put this into words what this thing actually was i think the most interesting part about all of it is not really the the rabbit hole stuff that you can go down on the internet but the the fact that this was attacked using uh ieds right in the past the the georgia guidestones of course based on the controversial things that these that's inscribed on these tablets these have been the subject of attack for a long time they've been vandalized graffiti has been they've been sprayed up with graffiti a lot this is this is nothing new what is new is someone using explosives to try to blow them up so yeah pretty interesting um i think though what's more interesting is the fact that there was pretty good security at the georgia guidestones like perimeter uh due to the past attacks that have kind of happened uh they put up a lot of security cameras and they've got a pretty good like you know security perimeter i won't say it's great but it looks to me like from what i've seen uh pretty decent and especially for in the middle of nowhere georgia and yet this kind of thing still happened i think though what is the most interesting part about the entire thing is that this ied attack occurred in the early hours of the morning on july 6th so way right in the middle of the night uh on july 6th well by the end of that day after the detonation had occurred they the guidestones were dismantled and destroyed people noticed construction equipment out there tearing down the rest of the monuments so from what i know about investigations of ied attacks on u.s soil i'm very highly suspicious that the site of an ied attack where you're trying to conduct chemical forensics and and conduct an investigation gets dismantled in just a few hours right after this idea attack happened like you would think there'd be crime scene tape around this sucker for at least a week or so while people are trying to figure out what happened and maybe go after the people because you know id attacks are not they're not common here in the united states especially against you know like a hardened structure like a stone tablet right so i don't know i think that the destruction of these guide stones immediately following the the explosive attack on them i think that's sketchy though i don't really know what else to think about it but again this is kind of a more weird one but since we don't really get to talk about ied attacks too often uh you know except in the context of like antifa or somebody i thought i'd mention it and especially considering i know that people are going to have a lot of questions about it so i guess we'll see what comes of it but my guess is due to the highly suspicious and secretive nature of the the guide stones themselves uh my guess is we're probably not gonna hear much about this uh anymore so i don't know we'll see though moving to the east central midwestern region we really just have three additions for this time three different terror attacks uh all three of course claimed by jane's revenge and all three are vandalism so the first one was in detroit michigan where a pro-life center a pregnancy center again was vandalized as expected and as you can see on the slide there numbers four and five occurred on the 22nd of june in jackson michigan both of them occurred they they shared an office so one of these uh places that was attacked was a pro-life center the jackson right to life center and the other one was interestingly enough a congressman's office so republican congressman tim wahlberg's office was vandalized along with the right to life center there it's a small building they kind of shared the same structure and people uh graffitied it up pretty good and damaged some of the facilities there so so again not really surprising this is kind of the mo by now for a lot of these leftist groups but again just wanted to mention it because we're seeing these attacks increase all over the nation moving to the west central midwestern region we have two new editions for this time both of them vandalism both of them claimed by jane's revenge again pretty standard by now uh one of them was a pro-life center in saint paul minnesota uh which was uh the birthright center uh company there just is kind of like a pro-life center uh they were attacked on the fifth of july and then going back to the second of june i forgot to mention this one on the last last time this is in des moines iowa an organization called dsm street medics which is a like a pro-life resource center they were also vandalized and again claimed by jane's revenge moving to the southwestern region we have a whole lot of nothing i haven't been able to find any in the states of arizona new mexico texas or oklahoma though i'm sure different attacks have occurred i just haven't found them yet so a lot of these are very much buried by the media and i'm sure that you can understand how hard it is to find these uh digging through the depths of the internet these days but again we'll keep an eye on the southwest but usually we're not really going to see too much just because of the climate and the nature of these attacks right so so for the western region we have two new additions for this slide this time both of them occurred on the 27th of june uh the first one was in portland oregon uh the mother and child education center it was like a pregnancy center was vandalized again by jane's revenge now i should note that this one is very interesting uh the local locals seem to think that this might have been an accident because the mother and child education center is they have not picked a side on the roe vs wade thing so they are not pro-choice and they are not pro-life at least according to them it's really hard to kind of say why they were targeted because they don't i'm not entirely sure if they offer abortions at this facility it seems like they're more along the lines of just just an education center and they kind of appeal to everyone at this particular place a lot of these pregnancy centers you're going to find are very much pro-life as you would expect but this one is more more center of the road which is a little confusing to me but it is portland right so it kind of makes sense in any case i looked at the photos of this facility's vandalism and it seems like it it could very well be a case of mistaken identity because this the name of this place is mother and child education center and if you look at the logo of the agency it looks very much like a pro-life facility so my guess is that the roaming bands of antifa members who have basically nested in portland over the past decade or so probably just saw the sign and said you know what we're gonna we're gonna attack that place so so yeah either way this one looked like it was more of a target of opportunity rather than a deliberately planned uh coordinated attack and on the same day on the 27th of june in longmont colorado a facility called life choices which is a more of a pro-life center education center type type thing uh it was set on fire and that is currently being listed as arson so so again not a lot of this is surprising unfortunately but still got to keep a keep an eye on this just so that everyone's aware of the the levels of terrorism that are going on around this country before we moved on i briefly wanted to mention that there has been some congressional interest in all of these attacks that seem to be popping up all over the country for instance senator chuck grassley of iowa sent a letter to the fbi last week urging the fbi to investigate the more than 40 pregnancy centers that have been attacked since the roe vs wade leake this is in addition to the letter tom cotton sent to the department of justice last month also urging the fbi to do their job the fbi has responded by saying that they are instigating excuse me investigating these attacks and have again encouraged citizens to report suspicious activity to their various hotlines but until something is done the average citizen is having to take a crash course in counter-terrorism in a nation which arrests people for trying to stop terrorist attacks on u.s soil so not exactly an easy task but this is certainly a great time for the average citizen to educate themselves and remain vigilant and when it comes to future terrorism we have really one just kind of warning to go out there and that is that several groups affiliated with antifa your more leftist militant groups uh have been offering bounties or encouraging the attack of supreme court justices in washington dc so far uh bounties have just been offered up for public sightings of brett kavanaugh specifically uh with bonuses for if he's still at a location when uh the the terror groups when the terrorists arrive so again they're looking to target supreme court justices deliberately and openly now uh which again is not surprising unfortunately but what is kind of interesting is places like the white house press secretary deliberately uh egging this kind of stuff on so the precursor to to this is uh brett kavanaugh being swarmed uh while he was out trying to have dinner at a dc restaurant so this kind of spurred these more leftist groups iww antifa uh any kind of communist party of you know whatever city these groups are really looking for for blood quite literally and are openly encouraging violence against public officials so my guess is that due to this latest event involving brett kavanaugh the conservative justices at least will be hidden away in secure locations for the foreseeable future uh and almost certainly they were probably looking at doing this before the roe versus way decision was released the leftist terror groups around this country are really predictable at this point but with leftist politicians again to include the white house press secretary openly encouraging these kinds of attacks we have to assume that these attacks will probably be used on conservative politicians or public figures as well so it will probably expand beyond just supreme court justices right when it comes to leftist groups in this country they're really only whipped up into action to do politicians bidding for them every few years or so i mean of course you're going to have your your classic um communist groups that are pretty much in well not pretty much they are in every single city in this country uh at this point but usually they're really kind of small groups uh your more deliberate terroristic kinds of attacks like your jane's revenge type stuff that only really occurs uh ever so often once they've kind of get their resources back or they get their funding uh the reason that i think we're seeing a lot of this now is because of course roe vs wade was a hugely uh motivating uh recruitment tool for them for one and it also allowed billionaire politicians to funnel this money into supporting their their demonstrations their protesting and especially their bail funds so as far as what all this means for the average citizen uh really the takeaway is to remember that while politicians have taxpayer-funded armed security for protection which have zero legal implications to think about you do not and you most certainly do not want to be collateral damage so if you're at a location that might be a target for leftist terror groups remember that defending yourself against these terrorists will in all likelihood result in you being the one prosecuted uh we've seen this in new york very recently uh and in texas but this sentiment has been echoed in pretty much every state around the nation in sporadic cases right uh i of course don't mean to be overly pessimistic on this but i just know that i myself do not have the budget to spend years of my life going through a kyle rittenhouse style show trial i would rather egress from an establishment that is undergoing a mob style attack rather than let the terrorists force me into action that's of course just my own opinion but i always think it's important to remind everyone of the way things are right now within our multi-tiered justice system high-ranking politicians might have security but if you are dining at the next table over what do you think is going to happen their security team is for them not for you and the legal implications of you being forced to defend yourself are not of their concern either no politician is going to bail you out of jail or pay your legal fees because their presence near you caused a mob to target you and you had to defend yourself so please keep this in mind as we move into a time in which politicians of one party are allowed to openly encourage the harm of their enemies and government agents arrest citizens for defending themselves or their families again not a pleasant thing to think about but i think it needs to be said constantly especially since genuine domestic terrorism is becoming a norm in the united states moving on to significant governmental actions we'll keep the peachy mood going and talk about ups so ups united parcel service has apparently gone absolutely insane and is now not only canceling their contracts with gun parts companies such as brownells but they are now openly stating that they will be opening and stealing your packages if their scanning sensors detect that you have ordered something they do not like and if this sounds vague it's because it is ups has not been clear about any of this the gun community has rightfully expressed outrage over this especially considering that ups is going above and beyond to create their own laws i guess that this is surprising to a lot of people that a company would confiscate packages that even the atf says are completely legal but for those of you that have been following us for a while you know that we here have been focused on companies that create their own laws for a long time now like i've said many times before this is a huge problem and i don't know what the solution is i think that the classic argument of they are a private company so they can do what they want uh is kind of ridiculous at this point there are only a tiny handful of postal carriers in this country and all of them are heavily federally subsidized with your tax dollars and in many cases directly controlled by federal government we all know how social media companies have put political regimes into power and how defense contractors have taken your tax dollars to develop technologies that they then refuse to sell to u.s taxpayers so ups doing this is a little surprising because of how quickly they made this decision especially at a time when so many companies are going broke because of their wokism ups is neck and neck with their competition and they decide you know what we're gonna do we're gonna go above and beyond full steam ahead on the woke train to follow laws that don't even exist when you control the mail you control information i say good luck with that ups and let's see how that works out for you but my guess is that people are going to be focusing on using other shipping options the one or two other options that they have for shipping gun parts around the country moving on to number two this is kind of the incident that has been highlighted by many a conservative news agency over the past couple of weeks and this is a story that the biden regime has sold about a million barrels of crude oil to a company that is owned by the communist party of china not only that but this oil came from our strategic oil reserves so we quite literally uh emptied out our reserves of at least a million barrels of oil to sell to china that alone is pretty damning but it gets better the company in question is sinopec this is indeed completely owned by the chinese state government but in 2015 a private equity firm called bhr partners purchased 1.7 billion dollars worth of shares in that company sinopec bhr associates was created by the bank of china and you guessed it hunter biden as if that is not delicious enough for you it gets even better hunter biden to avoid any hint of impropriety announced that he would be resigning from bhr partners during joe biden's presidential campaign but guess what as of the second quarter of 2020 after the election mind you hunter biden was still listed as a board member so pretty interesting i was not able to independently verify whether or not hunter biden is affiliated with this company still but i would stake my entire existence on the entire biden family being up to their neck in this rampant and blatant corruption i think it's pretty clear that that's exactly what's going on by now so i guess we'll see what happens with this case but my kindergarten level assessment is that nothing will happen at all as a result of this corruption but we may see a few republican congressmen get upset for a bit but that probably won't result in much being done uh in the long run and since hunter biden was recently caught smoking crack cocaine while in detox for smoking crack cocaine uh detox that his father paid for i think that this hunter biden saga is just going to keep giving us very interesting tidbits as we move on down the line clark that's the gift that keeps on giving the whole year so let's wrap things up with a few international issues first up is the netherlands like i mentioned uh the dutch are still protesting in quite significant numbers uh the police have actually fired several live rounds at least once during the demonstrations at farmers so it's really unclear as to to what's going on with regards to these smaller spot protests that have kind of popped up around the nation this is very much a nationwide protest at this point and the demonstrations are becoming a bit more lively uh with more and more people joining the demonstrations as people start to realize just what the the world economic forum controlled dutch government is trying to do to its people uh similar protests have popped up in various spots around europe as well such as in france for the same reasons so i guess we'll have to see how kinetic things get as more and more european citizens start to realize what their governments have done to them or are trying to do to them as one might expect the farmers specifically in the netherlands have gotten a lot of support from people who realize that farming is kind of an essential activity and their government's efforts to restrict it are kind of not a good thing so we'll have to see how this develops my guess is that these protests will probably grow quite significantly based on the severity of these draconian climate change policies that are far too numerous to even mention but are kind of popping up everywhere around europe moving over to germany germany's largest housing group a company called vanovia has announced that they will be involuntarily turning down the thermostats in their rental units the retail units that they own for the foreseeable future during the hours of the night when things get the coldest so a company smokes person said that from the beginning of the next heating period the plan is to throttle the heating between 11 pm and 6 am so that heating only heats up to 17 degrees celsius which is about 63 degrees fahrenheit at night for those that are unfamiliar with this company vinovia is a very infamous company in germany it's probably one of the most hated corporate entities in the country uh because they are a they're very well known for unethical business practices so this is not a surprise at all however they own over half a million apartments so they're not a small company whatsoever so again i would expect this trend in germany to become very commonplace uh however we might actually see the german government start trying to ration natural gas uh probably very very soon uh they're kind of floating that idea right now there's a lot of rumen to a lot of rumors flying around regarding rationing natural gas because of germany's own decisions and their reliance on russian natural gas which is now not an option for them so that's going to be interesting to follow as with most things it does present a few other considerations though wood-fired stoves and other heating appliances have completely disappeared from store shelves as german citizens race to prevent their government from freezing them to death this winter this presents a lot of problems the energy crisis in europe specifically in germany uh has presented a lot of problems mostly due to how most people on earth are completely inept when it comes to basic survival skills the same people that think chocolate milk comes from brown cows also probably think that their home is heated by magical fairy dust so you're going to have a lot of people who are completely confused as to why their home is freezing cold and these people who have never even thought about basic things like energy and heating are suddenly having to figure out how to heat their home when their government or their company decides to restrict their heating modern caveman moments like this are likely to cause quite a few problems as inexperienced people race to keep their homes warm this of course is not to cast shot and florida on the germans this is certainly an american thing too the number of people that are somehow baffled every winter when their pipes freeze and burst is quite astounding when it comes to heating in the winter though there are a lot of other issues as well winter time is when people tend to buy some of the more unsafe heating appliances like cheap chinese space heaters which then burn their house down and guess what time of year is most difficult to fight fires in wintertime injuries for firefighters usually spike during the winter hydrants and hoses freeze ice and snow present challenges of their own and all of this happens at the exact time of year that residential home fires spike it is a tale as old as time and one of the main reasons for murphy's law not only will everything go wrong that can go wrong but it often does so at the most inopportune times or when it is most difficult to fix the issue such as residential home fires in the winter so for any german citizens out there please be careful with your heating methods this winter you've had this pair of extra gloves this whole time yeah we're in the rockies jumping over to the pacific in japan the assassination of former prime minister shinzo abe has grabbed a lot of headlines this week i don't really have much to say about this one but we do not often see the assassination of high-ranking politicians so i did want to mention it abe was very much a controversial figure mostly due to his political ideology which some would describe as ultra-nationalistic we here in the u.s hear that and think well alright then but we have to remember that what is nationalist or ultra-nationalist in other countries is not exactly the same definition as here at home but yeah he was still a very controversial figure in japan the west supported him because of his hard-line stance on china which won him support for many japanese citizens as well not much is known about the attacker just yet i'm sure lots of media agencies are doing profiles on the guy by now but for sure various antifa elements are celebrating this assassination as expected so who knows what is interesting is that crime especially gun crime is pretty much completely unheard of in japan this is not something that is easily understandable by a western audience much like lots of japanese culture i guess it's kind of hard to explain but i will say that it's pretty clear that this assassination has rocked the nation for sure stuff like this especially with an improvised firearm are completely unheard of in japan i think what kind of sells this idea is this photo from the assassination which reminds us that the security detail for a former prime minister carries revolvers so yeah that kind of points out how different the culture is in japan with regards to firearms and law enforcement moving to sri lanka the situation in sri lanka has deteriorated to about as close to a full-blown collapse as i think we're going to see protesters stormed the presidential palace yesterday in order to demand the president's resignation and generally voice their displeasure at the government causing them to starve the prime minister has agreed to resign and allow the formation of a new government and the president actually just a few minutes ago as i'm recording this also announced that he will be stepping down as well although even with these resignations it is unclear if anything can be done at this point to stop the economic collapse and mass starvation moving to our friends across the pond in the united kingdom the news this week has been the resignation of boris johnson this follows a several months saga for boris starting with the party gate scandal and ending with his covering up of his appointment of a serial sexual predator as deputy chief whip so yeah not a super great past few months for old boris thus his resignation we shall see how the conservatives handle his resignation and who might replace him but no real news on that front moving to our friends to the north up in canada there have been quite a few issues regarding telecoms this week mostly stemming from the rogers communication incorporated outage rogers communications is a major telecoms sort of conglomerate that offers a lot of services they handle everything from normal citizens cell phones to 911 networks to to credit card transactions to wi-fi they handle a lot of different things and they have had a widespread outages since yesterday rogers has issued statements late yesterday evening that they should start having some services come back online as of the evening of the 8th although today is the 9th and it's there's still a lot of different outages particularly with things like 911 call centers and things like that so it's really hard to tell when they're going to be fully recovered from this but yeah again canadians figuring out exactly uh how vulnerable it is to put all of your eggs in one basket when it comes to telecommunications here in the united states we see this frequently like just last time i briefed uh we had an outage with our unemployment services and this one company which managed the website for unemployment or unemployment benefits you know websites to where you apply for that kind of thing that one company provided services to over 40 states and because they went down they took 40 states unemployment systems down with them so again we're finding out just how vulnerable it is and how little of these systems are not networked you would think that a lot of these systems are either air-gapped or on different networks or somehow not completely vulnerable to one thing bringing the entire nation down but i think we're finding out these days especially over the past couple of years with the rise of cyber attacks that this is most certainly not the case and systems which should be air-gapped like 9-1-1 call centers most certainly are not and finally in afghanistan it has been a while since i mentioned something with afghanistan and i wanted to end on something that doesn't really have much intel value but is utterly fascinating to me and that is the unearthing of mullah omar's vehicle from its hiding place in afghanistan for those that don't know who this is muhammad omar mostly just called mullah omar was the founder of the taliban in afghanistan and has been an almost mythological feature in afghan culture over the years back in the early years of the war he went into hiding and remained so until he died reportedly of tuberculosis in 2013 and now a few days ago we've learned from pictures posted on social media that his followers have unearthed his personal vehicle that he had placed into hiding during the initial invasion his followers posted photos of themselves digging up the vehicle that he used to escape from the 2001 u.s invasion apparently this was the vehicle that he used to drive from his home in kandahar to his hiding place in zabel where he remained for the majority of the war in hiding sometimes just a few hundred meters away from american fobs and outposts based on these photos it's clear that he and his team had buried his toyota corolla wagon underground in the event that he needed it again and now that the taliban have their victory they are now starting to literally unearth some of the items important to the history of afghanistan and their own history as the taliban as distasteful as it may seem to even have the slightest respect towards one of our nation's most vicious enemies especially with the fall of afghanistan and all of the pain that caused i myself can't help but be fascinated by the history of stuff like this and i hope that in the coming years we get to hear some of the stories from the other side of the wire so that we may better understand how we lost that war for now i think that a simple toyota being dug out of the ground illustrates that we cannot possibly begin to imagine how much we don't know about that war the exact same thing happened with vietnam too general nguyen zapp the head general in charge of the nva survived the war only to remain a mystery for the most part and mullah omar like general zapp remains an enigma to the west despite both of these men having a huge role in being the leaders of the only organizations to ever topple multiple superpowers i just think that if western military leadership isn't really interested in learning from their enemies i certainly am and i would be especially interested to learn the stories from the other side of the wire lest we repeat the same mistakes again mistakes that cost us dearly anyway i didn't mean to get all philosophical i just thought that was interesting and i really can't wait to get started on some more of the warfare studies sort of content that we've been researching for the past few months so thank you again for watching everyone and thank you again for all of your Hello again everyone and welcome back to the underground. This is the Intel update for December 14th through the 20th, 2025. As usual at this point, the insanity continues and we have a lot to cover this week. So, let's hop to it. Overall, like last week, this week has been busier than usual with multiple terror attacks taking place around the world. First up, we have the Brown University shooting here in the homeland, as well as several arrests of terror cells such as the Turtle Island Liberation Front planning to conduct attacks. Down in Australia, we have the Bondi Beach mass shooting and also the follow-up terror attack that was halted a few days after that initial incident, which we'll get to in a moment. And finally, yesterday, we had a mass stabbing attack in Taiwan. A comparatively rare form of terror attack in Taipei, but still one that caused a few casualties nonetheless. Considering the elevated terrorism threat risk globally, many nations have canceled their New Year celebrations out of fear of things like vehicle ramming attacks and the inability to maintain security for large crowds. It's not entirely clear as to what these threats are. Most nations aren't really citing a specific threat. So, this could be a case of major cities just not wanting to hold celebrations and so they're using terrorism as an excuse. Or it could be that there are so many insurgent groups implanted throughout the Western world that the risks of vehicle ramming attacks are simply too high. Now that it's become clear that mass migration is directly and clearly linked to an increase of violence, it's likely that certain politicians don't want an attack to happen in their city, which would rile up the populace even more against mass migration. So that's the kind of unfortunate flavor this week. Attacks past, present, and future. And before we get into some of this stuff a little bit more in depth, let's talk about strategic movement for this week. Not much to report on the Caribbean front. Things are mostly the same as before. The Uima is still in port in the US Virgin Islands where she is conducting a port call. She's been there for a while now, I think. Otherwise, there have been a few minor positioning updates. A few ships moving around here and there, but nothing major. The Ford is still cutting circles in the ocean off the coast of Puerto Rico as of this morning, so no major updates there. Perhaps the biggest update has been the increase in strategic aviation in the Caribbean. There has been an observable increase in intelligence aircraft conducting flights off the coast of Venezuela. So, that very much needed intelligence preparation of the battle space is being conducted on a national scale down there. They're probably collecting imagery of the coastline, but more likely they're probably collecting sigant on whatever forces Maduro can muster. They're not exactly hiding uh their presence. They're obviously leaving their transponders turned on so that the whole world can see exactly where their spy aircraft are flying. So, other than that, no major change. Uh tensions remain high and most people watching this kind of expect war to break out any day or week now, especially since Venezuela has allegedly starting escorting tankers through the blockade. Now, on that front, again, no major news. Uh, Venezuela hasn't actually tried to escort a sanctioned vessel out of their waters yet. Most of the rhetoric pertaining to Venezuela escorting ships, you know, in their territorial waters has pertained to nonsanctioned vessels. So, they're kind of escorting the vessels that don't actually need an escort. But there will inevitably be a point at which Venezuela decides to run the gauntlet. So, that's going to be a pretty big international flash point that could uh kick things off from there. So, maybe the US wants that to happen to provide justification to invade Venezuela. I don't know. But that's kind of the next point of friction that's likely to come about in the next couple of weeks. Moving to the United States, this week has been very kinetic and multiple incidents have taken place that are worthy of consideration. First up, we have the Brown University shooting and the murder of the MIT professor, which are two incidents that the authorities state are related incidents, so we'll dig into that in just a bit. Otherwise, the FBI has now finally become involved in the horrific acid attack that took place in Savannah, Georgia almost 2 weeks ago, which is why I've left this one on the slide for now. And out west, four wouldbe terrorists were arrested as they were planning to conduct attacks in Los Angeles during New Year's celebrations, which is probably why many nations around the world have exercised caution during New Year's events and canceled fireworks and stuff like that. There are quite a few different groups in the United States and internationally, which are uh trying to increase the rhetoric when it comes to New Year's targeting for some reason, mostly because New Year's celebrations usually involve large crowds, but it's also not a really big political holiday or a big religious holiday. So for the different types of terrorists which just cause to seek mass mayhem and not necessarily want to conduct terrorism for a political goal, uh New Year's is a pretty good holiday for them to choose, uh which is why a lot of New Year's attacks tend to happen. But there are some very interesting considerations when we talk about that terrorism label, which we'll get to in just a minute, because it's kind of interesting to examine these threats as they come about and why they come about. That's the more important part which helps us identify when and where future attacks may take place or at least where the risk is a little bit more elevated. Now breaking out into the regions for this week, I wanted to briefly mention the Epstein file release which took place last night. This was a very uh hotly contested document release that was very much hyped up. So I wanted to mention that it did occur. However, roughly 90% of the documents look exactly like this completely uh redacted from the top of the page all the way to the bottom. So, I don't think very many people were expecting much, but I know this was kind of in the news and Congress even passed a special law. The uh Epstein Files Transparency Act to force the removal of redactions from documents like this. And the DOJ just released black pages like they always tend to do with this sort of stuff. So, from what I can tell so far, there really aren't any new revelations when it comes to the actual text. I expect a bit more information and a bit more context on exactly what was released over the next few days as people kind of get into it and start examining some of these documents, but for the most part, it's just complete redactions uh from top to bottom. So, again, not entirely unexpected, but I did want to mention it because it was it was kind of being talked up all this week. So, moving down to Georgia, I wanted to offer a brief update on the acid attack that took place near Foresight Park in Savannah a couple of weeks ago. So, the FBI uh yesterday announced that they are actually seeking all of the doorbell cameras and any security camera footage that anyone might have who live in this giant rectangle in downtown Savannah. So, if you live in downtown Savannah inside this rectangle, the FBI would like any kind of security camera footage that you have that features the suspect in that case. Now, of course, the big elephant in the room is that this took the FBI nine full days to actually start the investigation. Now, we can argue about this case all day long. However, one specific argument that I saw uh online this week pertaining to this exact case really motivated me to kind of clear the air on the topic and clarify uh the nature of counterterrorism doctrine in general. So, one of the arguments that I have seen is that the reason that the FBI took so long to start investigating this specific gruesome crime is because this is a local law enforcement issue. Right? That's the argument that's being stated is that well this was really the job of the Savannah Police Department. The FBI doesn't normally investigate crimes involving a single person and it doesn't meet the criteria for the feds getting involved and so on. However, this is incorrect. This is not how uh the world of counterterrorism works. And here's why. Let's first examine the nature of terrorism in general. We throw around this word terrorism a lot and we don't really kind of get to the meat of the matter of what is actually classified as a terror attack. So, let's go ahead and go to the FBI's website. They're the ones who make the doctrine, right? And here are the definitions. So, the FBI has two definitions for terrorism. International terrorism and domestic terrorism. Now, the international one is quite an easy definition to wrap our minds around. It is a lot more clear-cut because international terrorism as per the FBI is defined as violent criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups who are inspired by or associated with designated foreign terrorist organizations or nations. state sponsored, meaning that you're a part of an FTO, a foreign terrorist organization. Again, this is why this uh rhetoric has been in the news lately of designating TDA, Trendy Aragua, as a foreign terrorist organization and so on and so forth, right? These labels mean things in the international arena. Well, maybe not in terms of international relations, but for the United States, if you are a part of an FTO, well, you're going to get slotted right into the FBI's investigative process automatically. you don't necessarily have to do anything. Just by being affiliated with some of these groups, you are now, by the FBI's definition, a terrorist. The other definition, which is the one that we're going to focus on today, is a lot more loosey goosey. I'll say domestic terrorism, as per the FBI, is defined as violent criminal acts committed by individuals and/or groups to further ideological goals stemming from domestic influences such as those of a political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature. Now again, this may come as no surprise to many of you out there. However, this definition will more or less cover every single thing that happens under the sun. So, this is a very broad definition and the FBI is known to quite liberally apply this definition to lots of different things that they want to classify as terrorism. However, the last part of that sentence is what matters. at political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature. That part of the sentence, if we crack open a few older counterterrorism manuals, those five categories are the traditionally accepted motivations for carrying out a terror attack. It's not exactly perfect, but it's it kind of gets us across the line with regards to most kinds of terror attacks. Once again, this is highly subjective. This is like the ultimate game of semantics as to what is defined as terrorism, right? If you read two different textbooks, you may come out with two different views of what a terrorist attack actually is. Obviously, there's going to be a lot of variation here. So, please don't get hung up on the exact words in this this definition because it's going to vary quite a bit depending on which textbook you read, depending on which uh professors you had teaching you counterterrorism topics. It's going to vary on what you would consider to be a terrorist attack. I will say though, however, that if we go back to say the early Giwat era where the word terrorism started being used a lot more often by governments and agencies and things like that, what was the definition back then? Well, honestly, it it's not it wasn't very much different than what it is today. However, what they tried to make it seem like is that well, it's in the name. What is terrorism? It's in the name. It's an it's an attack that is intended to cause fear. That's not really true. In most cases, terrorist attacks are not meant to get you to do something differently. They're really just attacks that are coming from a certain range of ideiations. In this case, political, religious, social, racial, or environmental. It's not about causing fear so much as it is carrying out an attack for a certain reason, one of these five reasons. I know it may not make a whole lot of sense, or maybe it does make a lot of sense in retrospect, but this is something that we have to understand. And this is why I wanted to talk about what is terrorism because this applies to the Savannah case. So going back to our initial question, right, the thing that got me interested is people saying, "Well, this guy was just one guy. He attacked one person. He threw acid on this woman. It was horrible, but it was kind of an isolated attack. So not really terrorism, right? Wrong. The reason why he did this is what dictates it being a terror attack. He did not throw acid on this woman to steal her wallet. Right? That's not what happened. If that were the case, you would have an argument, right? You would have an argument to say, "Well, he just used a very brutal attack as part of a mugging and this was a financially motivated attack and thus not terrorism." But that's not what happened. He randomly threw acid on this lady and calmly walked away. This is why the feds should have been involved in this case early on because we don't know what the person's ideiation is. We don't know what the person's ideology is. We don't know why they conducted the attack in many cases until we catch them, right? So, it's better to air on the side of caution and assume that this guy conducted this attack for terroristic reasons. And then once the guy's in jail, once the suspect is captured and they are no longer a threat to the public, we can conduct a further investigation to determine what charges would be appropriate for this particular crime. Right? It sounds very simple, but once you start laying it out, you realize what's going on here. So, so again coming back to this specific attack in Savannah here. Did this guy throw acid on this woman just because he's crazy and mentally ill? Or did he throw acid on this woman because she was a white woman? If it is the latter, then that would mean that this is meeting the definition of a terror attack and the feds are now the lead investigative authority. Or at least that's the way it should work, right? We don't know why he did this attack. So, it would be best to assume that he did this because he saw a white woman in the park, threw acid on her because she he didn't like the way she looked, and we can go from there. Now, is this definitive proof? No. That's just a theory. However, remember, investigations are not courtrooms, right? The investigative process is not a jury. We can think whatever we want to during an investigation. That's what investigations are all about. In terms of investigations, we don't really have to have a reason to do anything at all except for things like probable cause. and throwing acid on a woman randomly is definitely a probable cause to, you know, search the individual or something like that. That's what we tend to think of in terms of probable cause. But if I've got a whiteboard in my office, I can say, "Yeah, this guy probably targeted this woman because he saw a white woman in a park and he didn't like that and he targeted her because of that." Because th those types of attacks are becoming very common around the United States. I don't need to prove anything to a jury to put that on my whiteboard, right? Once the guy is caught and you can start working through the judicial process and prosecutorial charges and things like that, that's for later on. But I'm talking about right now, this guy's not caught yet. So, this is why investigative tools have to be unlocked early on. It would have made sense for the Savannah PD to say, "Look, we can't handle this. FBI, can you come involved because it sure looks like another black guy just randomly attacked a white girl in a park. You guys take it and run from there." But that's not what happened. So, this is a good reminder of understanding how the motivations for something really do factor into that terrorism label. And that terrorism label matters because of the tools and assets that are going to be available for the investigative process. The FBI and the feds in general are not going to spin up a bunch of resources, right, when it's just a regular street crime. The issue here is is that terrorism tends to be policed very differently than every other crime in the United States because it has a potential to affect other people. Of course, we can argue about semantics all day long, but a say a serial check casher, right? somebody who's committing check fraud like every other day, right? That type of person is going to be policed a lot differently than somebody who's a serial stabber, right? Somebody who's committing check fraud every single day is a lot different type of person than is going out there and stabbing people every day. The urgency by which we police the stabbing person is going to be a lot more important than say going after the financial crimes. So this is why that terrorism label matters so much and why we have to be aware of this because of things like the Providence shooting and also some of the other terrorist attacks that have occurred or taken place around the around the country. Right? So let's go ahead and jump to the Providence shooting for a minute and and talk about this absolute disaster. So the general overview of the story is very hard to summarize actually because the details don't really make a whole lot of sense. So please forgive me for this extremely wavetop overview of what went on. So the general story for how this was carried out is that this individual, Clauddio Neves Valente, decided to commit a mass shooting at his old school, Brown University. He went to the university and decided to loiter around the north side of campus for a few hours before eventually making contact with a student, a former student who was actually secretly living in the basement of the Baris and Holly Engineering building some hours before the shooting took place. From there, some sort of scuffle or altercation or argument ensued between the two and the two parted ways. The homeless student kind of left the area or went back to whatever they were doing. It's not clear. And the shooter hung around the general area. What happens between the this point in the story and the shooting is unclear, but eventually some hours later, Valente allegedly entered a classroom in the Aaris and Holly Engineering building and conducted the shooting. Who he was targeting, we don't know. Why he was targeting, we don't know. None of the witnesses have been interviewed. We just don't know anything more than that. But once the shooting was complete, he eressed from the building uh at a rather slow pace. Uh he managed to just kind of walk around the campus on the north side. And from there, at some point after that shooting, he got into his rental car, which was parked nearby the uh engineering building, and he drove all the way to Boston. Once he was in Boston, uh he transited to the outskirts of Boston where he found his uh old colleague, a professor at MIT now, and shot him in his home, murdered him right then and there. And once that murder was complete, Valente drove all the way to a storage unit, a a mini storage unit in Salem, New Hampshire. From there, he is alleged to have taken his own life inside a storage unit there. And this is where his remains were found a couple of days ago. That is the official story as it stands right now. Many details, including especially the timeline of all of this, is very sketchy and has changed by the hour. So, please forgive me if by the time this comes out, something else has changed. Suffice it to say, this is probably one of the most sketchy shootings that has taken place in the US over the past year or so. And I say that rather hesitantly because I know that throughout internet land at large, there's this growing trend of people wanting to be contrarian just for the sake of it or wanting to say that, yeah, something's fishy here. there's some conspiracy on this that or the other just for the sake of like engagement farming or you know stirring up content generation ideas or whatever. I know that it's really popular to do that these days but in this case man this whole case stinks. It is really really sketchy all of it. And honestly I don't even know where to begin. I had originally written out like several pages worth of like all the little details that I picked out that are uh really just kind of not making any sense. But I'm just going to kind of leave it short for today because probably the most egregious thing that I can find so far is the fact that as this investigation was ongoing and as all of these little blunders were occurring from the FBI kicking snow to having like their junior guys out there and failing to secure crime scenes, failure to secure evidence, failure to interview even a single witness to the crime, right? All of these blunders started adding up. But what really got me was congressmen and political officials getting on TV and saying, "Shut up. Don't talk about this. Don't question anything." And what do you think that makes me do? It makes me question things. Especially considering the fact that this investigation was blundered so much that a man lost his life when I think it was probably quite preventable. At the same exact moment that the FBI and the Providence Police Department were getting on TV and telling us that there's no further threat to the community, the killer was in his car on his way to murder somebody else. Okay, that is disgraceful and there's no amount of well investigations are hard that you can hide behind to save yourself from that sort of thing. They have to own up to that. And what really got me paying attention with that is they they did what what I call the beltway demeanor. This is a thing that happens in the world of intelligence, but it's really just kind of a Washington DC thing. And uh what it is is this this demeanor, this um perspective of just condescension just out of nowhere, right? Like how dare you suggest that XYZ is probably a more likely theory. Like why don't you let the experts handle it? you know, the the uh classic, well, we just need to have a conversation about this and we need to discuss this and we need to manage this situation using the most uh boilerplate HR language we can sort of surmise. Personally, I'm more attuned to this, I think, because I got this throughout most of my career. And this is really one of the main reasons why I stopped doing this this kind of work professionally because it's a very interesting form of condescension mixed with a little bit of gaslighting. Like almost like you're somehow inferior for thinking that there may be a further threat to the community. That's what they did. That's the mentality that they had. It's like gaslighting mixed with condescension. Like, oh, you're just super stressed. You need to you need to take a break. uh because you know there's no threat to the community. You know, you're you're crazy for even thinking that. Don't worry about it. We've got it covered. And then meanwhile, there's somebody who's actually got a gun and he's going to kill somebody else while they're actually saying this during the live press conference. Like it's it it's so hard to describe. I'm not doing a super great job of it, but you know it when you see it. It's this this condescension mixed with like elitism. So elitism uh condescension and gaslighting all rolled into one. When you start to see that sort of thing in a press conference, when there's an ongoing criminal investigation, watch out because they're hiding something. And then when they add in this like twinge of almost like pity, like they're like they pity you. They're they're pitying you for thinking that there might be a further threat, like you're inexperienced or something like that, you know, that that really starts to starts to add up a lot of indicators that some sort of deception is going on here. And in this case, it turned out to be correct because what happened? We find out a couple of days later that exactly what the authorities told us was explicitly not happening actually happened. Somebody else got killed. So yeah, that's something that I hope to maybe think about a little harder and kind of encapsulate a little bit better to to to describe it a little bit more accurately because it is a very unique phenomenon and for me who you know I worked in Intel professionally for about 10 years or so. Whenever I would see that, I would know somebody's lying about something. But it most people, it would just go right over their heads. Like the junior guys who hadn't been in been in it long enough to know, they wouldn't be able to determine like, ah, okay, they're trying to skew something here. It's it's almost like um the difference between somebody telling a white lie and then like a professional, you know, um pathological liar. There's a big difference between the two, right? It's the same kind of idea. It's like condescension, elitism, gaslighting, but on steroids. And it's a very very unique perspective that you see some of these people uh use when they're making statements about something is a very big indicator for deception. And in this case we the deception was quite clear. The killer was indeed a further threat to the community and he actually ended up doing the worst case scenario. Ended up killing again. So not only did they fail at stopping a mass shooter, but they failed at apprehending a mass shooter and they failed at stopping a mass shooter from committing another shooting. Right? At least that's by their own story. Now, all of that being said, there is also, I have to mention, a quite high likelihood that the details of how all of this unfolded are simply not true. The timelines are not matching up. By their own admission, they're saying their timelines are not matching up. So, it's very hard to trust anyone as part of the official investigation with this because, well, by their own admission, they're saying their stories are not adding up, right? There's a lot of details that just don't add up. And it's not made any better when you've got the Providence police chief getting on TV struggling to speak English somehow after living in Rhode Island for 41 years. This guy still can't speak English very well. And he's answering extremely pertinent questions in Spanish without translating it for the rest of us. So, I've got to go into Google Translate to see what a police chief just said about a mass shooting in the United States of America. That's a that's a pretty big problem. But also, the attorney general was sitting there, you know, urging the public that they were being foolish. She's being foolish for thinking that there's a further threat to the community when there actually was a further threat to the community. Yeah, this is not a good case. The outcome of this is not good. Uh not only do we not have any sort of justice for the victims of this case, but also we can't really be sure that the incident has reached a point of conclusion now, can we? The official story is that these two cases are linked. The the official story is that this one man, Clauddio Nevice Valente, had some kind of personal grievance which caused him to conduct a mass shooting at Brown University, his old school, and also uh to take out one of his former colleagues that apparently he didn't like or something like that. So officially, that is the link between the two. Again, coming back to our definitions of terrorism, this appears to be or at least what the authorities are stating this to be is a personal dispute. As in he did not conduct this attack for ideological reasons. It was a social reason. it was a personal uh mental health reason or something like that. Now, even using the FBI's own very broad and vague definition of terrorism, we're still in kind of a gray area here, too. Because normally, generally speaking, I mean, there are outliers, but generally speaking, if a person has a dispute with someone else, they're not going to conduct a mass shooting, they're going to take their anger out on the person that they don't like, right? Or the person that they wanted to to remove from society, right? If they have a personal grievance with somebody, they're not going to conduct a mass shooting. Likewise, if they have if they want to conduct a mass shooting, the type of person who's going to be in the frame of mind to conduct a mass shooting generally isn't going to want to settle scores either. I mean, it's either one or the other. So, this if this is what actually happened, and I'm not saying it's not what happened. I'm just saying that if it is what happened, if the official story is true, this is a novel case. This is a very novel case, and I think that we're going to need more time. We're going to need more information. The Providence Police Department is going to have to interview witnesses and um I'm going to be looking into this a little bit further. So, it's odd. I also think it's odd. That's why I wanted to talk about it. So, moving out west, another very strange one, but also not really surprising. Strange, but not surprising. That's probably the West Coast in general these days. This took the form of four members of the Turtle Island Liberation Front being rolled up for attempting to create IEDs to detonate throughout Los Angeles this New Year's Eve. Once again, this series of arrests is what has prompted a lot of international uh responses in the form of cancelling fireworks and crowds and things like this. This is interesting because these four individuals were not the only people in the Turtle Island Liberation Front. This is a larger movement uh which is well, let me see, how should I describe this group? The Turtle Island Liberation Front is more like an offshoot of Antifa. They're all kind of in the same realm. See, one thing you have to understand about the far-left groups is that they love their labels, right? So, they love their names. They love their splinter groups because everybody has to have a title, right? Everybody has to have some kind of authority. That's what this is really uh one of the big uh traits of some of these far-left groups is that they're they're nested within groups within groups within groups. And in this case, these people are part of a smaller Splinter Cell within the Turtle Island Liberation Front, which is affiliated with Antifa and other far-left groups. It's a nightmare of names and acronyms. So, just suffice it to say that these four people are not the entire group. These are just four people who were rolled up uh for blowing up or trying to create IEDs to blow up stuff in Los Angeles. So that's how they were rolled up. They were creating IEDs out in the desert. They had been under surveillance for some time because of course they were. I mean, look at their mug shots. You can tell these guys would of course be on a government watch list rather quickly. And why is this, you might ask? Well, because they weren't exactly hiding uh their behavior. These people use their real names on social media. They published very violent rhetoric openly, not even in closed groups, just openly on Facebook, right? Where this stuff can flourish. So while the FBI is patting themselves on the back for rolling these people up, this is a case that Mr. Magcoo could crack, right? So even the most incompetent uh person could see that these people were a clear and present danger to society. Why? Because that's what they said about them their own selves. So as you might expect, most of the ideology on these people's web pages is very contradictory. So Turtle Island, just for instance, is a reference to what they claim Native Americans referred to America as. which is not really historically true. That's something that was really just kind of created recently, but you know, revisionist history is kind of the way that it works with a lot of these groups. But either way, the Turtle Island reference is more of a uh Native American kind of thing. And pardon me for saying so, but these four mug shots don't exactly look like Native Americans. But anyway, you've got that uh sort of thing going on. The whole like, you know, you're on stolen land kind of ideology. So, there's that. Plus, most of the rhetoric that they have on their web pages is um pro Palestine, but also like pro whatever acronym you want to say for gay issues nowadays. So, again, very contradictory ideology, but a lot of their stuff is uh very sympathetic towards uh Hamas in general. So, you know, there's that that'll get you on a watch list pretty quickly uh anywhere in the world these days. But the interesting part of this whole story, the reason why going on this rant is worthwhile is because these people are not the only people in their group. And the FBI is patting themselves on the back after they arrest the weirdest looking people in the group when there are other groups out there. They could have arrested like 500 people that are part of these groups or at least questioned a lot of these people. You hop in these Facebook groups with these people. They're not even Facebook groups. They're just Facebook pages. and you look at the people and look at the people making comments and it's like, all right, you got the four weirdest looking people in the group, but you still got a hundred other insurgents out there who openly state they're trying to conduct IED attacks. So once again, pardon me for not exactly trusting the FBI to stop terrorist attacks this New Year's Eve, but I guess we'll have to see. I mean, head on a swivel, right? That's the that's the moral of the story these days. Keep your head on a swivel. That is for sure. So, and speaking of keeping your head on a swivel, let's move over to Taiwan and talk about the Taipei terror attack that took place the other day. This is, of course, the unfortunate stabbing attack that took place at the Jean Jehan subway station in downtown Taipei. Now, this attack meets the criteria for being classified as a complex coordinated attack or CCA. We used to call these complex attacks or just complex terrorist attacks. What makes this a complex attack or the modern term complex coordinated attack or CCA? Well, there are usually two criteria. either multiple people involved in the attack or multiple weapons systems involved in the attack. And in this case, it was a lone attacker. However, he did switch weapons and he did target multiple venues. So, that does make it a complex coordinated attack, which is a little bit more than just your uh average garden variety terrorist attack these days. The general overview of how the attack began is very interesting because it shows a very high level of planning for how the attack was to be carried out. So, the attacker began at the main subway station to the south uh in which he threw a few smoke grenades inside the subway station. Now, at the time, this was treated as a prank and nobody really knew what was going on. So, they evacuated the station because it's a big station. It's the main train. It's the main subway station for Taipei. And uh in the process, they kind of started figuring out what was going on. Well, by then, the asalent had moved on to the other attack site. But at this first attack site before he moved on, he apparently had made contact with a citizen who was trying to stop him. And this citizen attempted to stop the attacker at this first site. But again, this all happened within the span of just a few minutes. So it took some time before people figured out exactly what was going on. The truth of the matter is that the individual, the attacker in this case, threw smoke grenades at the main subway station as a diversion. And when those smoke grenades were going off, he transited north to the Jean Shan subway station to conduct his actual stabbing attack. Now, we don't know if he took the subway to that station or if he went uh on surface roads on foot. Either way, what he was planning to do is have a diversion at the main subway station and or potentially detonate some IEDs there. So, uh like I said, reports are conflicting, but it looks like he actually had IEDs staged at the main subway station as well. So again, Taiwanese authorities are not exactly being forthcoming about this one, but from what we can piece together, it looks like he wanted to ignite a bag full of Molotovs at the main subway station in addition to using smoke devices at that main subway station attack site. And from there, he he transited north to the Zan station where he conducted the stabbing phase of his attack. Again, using even more smoke obscurance to cause mass pandemonium. So this guy was on a roll. he was really trying to cause a bunch of mayhem. But it turns out that unfortunately these types of attacks are just so rare in Taipei that not a whole lot of people even noticed. And we can see this in the video of the attack. I'm sure many of you have have have seen this and uh commented on it. I'm not going to show the full clip because it does show the attack uh taking place, but when this guy is in the middle of the street in downtown Taipei at a heavy intersection, right, he starts throwing smoke grenades and takes out this huge, you know, Bowie knife, right? or like miniature machete. Most of the people around him just can't can't believe their eyes. They're just frozen or they they're not even paying attention, right? So, this is um something that is it's unfortunate. Uh I don't necessarily know that you can really blame anybody. Uh because these kinds of attacks are extremely rare in Taipei. I think the last attack like this was over 10 years ago in Taipei. They just don't have this sort this thing sort of thing just doesn't happen in Asia that often. So, I guess the lesson learned here is, you know, head on a swivel. You know, you may be standing on the street one day and you may see a terrorist attack getting ready to to take place. And I can tell you, I I know it is going to be very hard to come to the conclusion or come to the assessment while standing on a street corner that you're witnessing a terrorist attack. It is a very hard thing to wrap your mind around. You've got to run through a whole lot of thoughts really quickly to come to this kind of conclusion. But this is something that you have to kind of be aware of because these kinds of things is definitely a case of you never think it can happen to you, right? And when we have a whole society who thinks that well it could never happen to me. Well, what do we call that in the in the sciences? We call that the bystander effect, right? And unfortunately, not to point fingers or or, you know, blame anybody with this, the bystander effect was definitely in in play here. Now once the once the attacker conducted the stabbing attack after the first few people were stabbed you know all bets were off right people realized oh my gosh this guy's attacking people now so from there you know the response was quite proper we don't really know what the police response was though all we know is that somehow he got up into a high-rise building and jumped. Uh that's that's all we know. Uh there's really nothing much more than that. Uh we don't have any conclusion. We don't know why he did this. There's no manifesto been released to my knowledge, at least not yet. And that's basically it. Uh so, you know, one of those things where we're just going to have to wait and see what the details are of this because this again, this kind of thing doesn't happen in Taiwan very often. So, again, please keep your head on a swivel. And of course, another segue into keeping your head on a swivel is the Bondi Beach terror attack that took place last Sunday. Again, a mass shooting striking a nation that is not really known for mass shootings. Uh this is something to be aware of. So the official story is that this attack was carried out by two people, not three that we first uh first surmised or first assessed based on the video. It was actually a father-son team who decided to carry out a uh jihadist style attack at a public venue, Bondi Beach Park in Sydney. There's a lot of information warfare going on about this one, so I'm trying not to to say anything inaccurate here, but it looks like they were probably targeting uh either a Hanukkah event at that was being held at the park or because it was a nice uh Sunday, they could have just been targeting everybody there. I don't know. The official uh Australian government story is that they were specifically targeting the Hanukkah event that was there. I cannot verify that. But again, this goes back to that terrorism doctrine that I mentioned earlier. We have to understand what was the motivation for this. Did these attackers attack this venue because it was hosting a Jewish event, the the Hanukkah event. Did they specifically choose that target because of that or did they just show up to any crowded venue? Right? Because there were a lot of people there and it's a Bondi Beach Park is a very popular park on the weekends. So the answer to that question is going to provide indications and warnings of future attacks. That's why even though it may be politically incorrect, we have to get to the truth. And in this case, I just I just don't know. And this distinction matters. We need to get to the truth right now. This is a time-sensitive issue because this story is not over yet. A couple of days after this main shooting took place, seven militants were arrested by counterterrorism police in two separate vehicles in Liverpool, just on the outskirts of Sydney. And per the authorities, they were arrested because they were transiting to Bondi Beach to conduct another terror attack at that same location and or in a general in the general vicinity of Bondi Beach. Now, as if the alarm bells were not ringing in your head loud enough already, it turns out the next day after these guys were detained, most of which, by the way, were on terrorist watch list per the government sources. They the the government says that they were on terrorist watch list. They were known terrorists. They were let go. All seven of these militants who are described as militants by the government, they are described as terrorists by the government have been released. So, not to cause a mass panic or anything, but the situation is a little bit risky in Sydney right now. So, yeah. Uh I mean, I'm sorry. I don't really have much more for you on that. I'm I'm struggling to contain my incredility here because I mean you've got a very very bad mass shooting taking place at Bondi Beach and that's bad enough, right? That's that's that's horrible enough. And then on top of that, you've got your counterterrorism agencies telling you, "Hey, we rolled up two two vehicles here. They're full of uh military age males. We've got seven MAMS in lockup. We are holding them on suspicion of terrorism because we had this intelligence which has not been made public. Of course, it's not going to be made public. Uh but we're holding them because they're terrorists. Here, uh you guys do something with them. And then they let them out, you know. Um now, the the obvious rebuttal to all of this uh insanity is that, okay, well, maybe they let him maybe they let him go to uh see where they're going to go, right? To to follow them and and spy on him more. To that, I would say uh the world is not an episode of Jack Ryan as much as we may want it to be. Generally speaking, if you were to leaf through really any counterterrorism book, pamphlet, uh, Wikipedia entry even, you would find that once a terrorist cell has made the, uh, decision to commit to the attack, you should probably intervene at that point. They already had them under surveillance and not just uh, just general surveillance like all of us on the world are subject to. Now, they had a team following them. That's how they were able to actually detain two separate vehicles at the same exact time. These guys were not just getting passive surveillance. They were getting active surveillance. And why did they intervene? They intervened because they thought they had guns in the car and they were going to Bondi Beach right then, right there. And they were going to uh conduct a mass shooting. That's why they intervened because they had pretty good intelligence. Some analysts somewhere, probably a whole team of analysts said, "Hey, look, we got to get them now. We're watching them. We think they're going to conduct a terror attack, but you got to get them right now." That's why they did that. And it turns out they hadn't picked their guns up yet because that's how terrorists work. They don't tend to roll around with a trunk full of AKs. This ain't Baghdad anymore. These people are going to probably go to a safe house in Sydney, pick up their rifles from wherever they had them stashed, and then conduct the attack. They jumped the gun a little early and there we go. Now we've uh blown blown cover. So either way, uh I hate to be again alarmist. So, I hate to sound alarmist in any form or fashion, but look guys, at a certain point, we got to be serious here and uh this is a pretty serious threat and I just hope that uh authorities in Sydney can can definitely keep an eye on these guys and anybody else who they may be talking to so that we can prevent a another tragedy from occurring. So, so yeah, sorry to be such a downer this week. I just realized that this is probably one of the more serious intel updates that we've had in a while because of just the the threats remaining palpably high. I don't mean for it to be, but you know, I'm not going to sugarcoat things either. So, sometimes it is quite serious. We'll do the best that we can. There's no need to doom and gloom about it. Don't do that. No black pilling. We don't do that, right? We can definitely do the best we can, keep our head on a swivel, and uh not let this stuff get to us too much. So, even though it may not seem like we're ending on a high note, we really are because we have the chance to actually do some good. though I think that's a very positive outcome. Even though we have very palpable and very clear present and future risks right on the horizon, we now know about it. We know enough information to make decisions based off of it and we have a chance to do the right thing at the right time. And I think that's the best that we can hope for. So that's all I have for today. Let's go ahead and roll things up with the intercepted ghost net reports. This week was a little bit sparse because I chose a different SDR. So, the SDR that I normally listen to was uh down for maintenance. So, I chose one right smack dab in the middle of the country and it turns out I didn't hear very much uh because there was a lot of static and there were a lot of people using uh other modes. But, I did want to put this screenshot in there uh for those who are just kind of tangentially interested in this ghost net radio plan. Uh when it comes to jamming and things like that, it's actually far more resilient than even I thought it would be. Uh because as you can see here, all of these uh vertical lines on the waterfall here, this blue image, uh you can see that the yellow bits on that uh image were coming through just fine. So somebody was transmitting while somebody else was transmitting. Normally that washes you out. It it's like trying to speak over someone who has a megaphone, right? It's hard to do. That's what jamming is. Is just talking louder than the next guy. And it turns out that sometimes in radio, we accidentally jam ourselves or we jam each other by talking over each other. And the JS8 call program that we use for the ghost net turns out is quite resilient for even stuff like that. So somebody who is speaking over someone else turns out we can still hear that little voice too which makes it very resilient for things like intentional jamming. So I thought that was kind of an interesting note. It's not perfect. You know nothing is jamming proof but it is quite resilient even when uh even when there's a lot of people talking at once. So I thought that was pretty neat. So I wanted to share that. But that's all I have for today. Uh, thank you guys for sticking with me. hello again everyone and welcome back to the underground this is the Intel update for January 18 2023 happy New Year everyone looks like this New Year is already getting pretty spicy so let's go ahead and kick things off by talking about significant incidents and concerns in the Northeast region one of the biggest incidents that got a lot of mainstream news media coverage was the polar vortex or whatever kind of buzzword you want to call the winter weather storm that hit around the beginning of December uh last month particularly the actions uh that actually happened within the City of Buffalo New York now a lot of people got got a lot of news coverage on this so I'm not going to beat it to death but the situation in Buffalo New York and how that whole winter kind of situation worked its way out was very indicative and a very good demonstration of a lot of the issues that we've been talking about previously we had a lot of infrastructure problems we had a lot of traffic incidents we had a lot of you know censored medical issues I'll say it like that and we had a lot of um release date actions right so there were a lot of issues to kind of unpack with this incident and though none of these are particularly surprising it's very important that we all kind of keep these in the back of our mind here right for instance one of the biggest elements of this whole incident that kind of caught my eye was the implementation of military police to serve in a domestic policing role in Buffalo New York uh to keep drivers off of the roads and you know underneath the kind of Quasi curfew that was uh that was enforced really it was just a ban on driving personal vehicles on the road during the snowstorm now I know a lot of people whenever I talk about curfews people don't really like it because there are a lot of people out there that actually support curfews for whatever reason but I'm just saying it's probably a good idea to kind of keep an eye on incidents like this especially considering that now we have the word curfew as part of our daily vocabulary in a lot of a lot of cases around the country there are a lot of persistent curfews that have been in place for years and they're just keeping they just keep popping up in a lot of places around the country and I you know don't think that's a super great thing so that's why I want to keep talking about these kinds of incidents because I think we all kind of have a a shared understanding of the seriousness of curfews and any kind at any time you're using the National Guard or any uh green Suiter military force in in the United States against uh potentially against citizens that's not a good thing I don't care how friendly the relationship seems It's not a super great thing so the Buffalo incident was not great uh granted it was a very serious issue and really highlights a lot of um you know prepping concerns about how you really need to be prepared for extreme severe winter weather uh I think way more severe than is is kind of normal for the area but at the same time you also need to be concerned about the things that nobody likes to talk about like uh you know domestic policing actions that's kind of a Hot Topic that again really people don't want to think about uh but you're not really going to see a whole lot of prepping you know kind of culture publicly embracing the idea idea of all right well now this is part of our daily life here you know to talk about curfews and driving bans and okay now there's a you know a uniform Soldier telling me I can't drive on the road you know we're here now um and as scary as it is we kind of have to acknowledge the fact that this has become a norm in the country and that's why I wanted to mention it moving on to some more unfortunate news of a green Suiter nature I wanted to talk about an incident that occurred in New Jersey way back in actually in November of last year but I'm just finding out about it now uh the short and sweet version of this incident was a a parent in North Hanover posted a photograph and made a post on Facebook of illicit content explicit content uh that was displayed at the entrance of her child's school now I think that we all know what kind of content this is I'm not going to go into many more details than that because you can easily Google this and find out the real story here and I'm not going to show the photo because I consider that content to be explicit and I'm trying to be you know at least a little bit more family friendly with these kinds of videos so I do want to say though that nothing in this original Facebook post uh was threatening in any way it was just a photo of the explicit content that this parent's child saw at the entrance of the school no no hint of violence it was anywhere near the social media post well despite this an Army lieutenant colonel took issue with this mom's Facebook post and immediately reported it directly to the local police chief using the internal lines of communication that were pre-established per their own words this military base communicates directly with the police chief for security reasons it kind of makes a lot of sense if you think about it in in a in a perspective of like a peacetime military you want to make sure that you know your guys with guns on the military base also are kind of tied in with local law enforcement because there's a lot of incidents that occur you know there's weird jurisdictional things so there being a kind of shared understanding between a federal you know service like a military base and a local law enforcement agency it makes a lot of sense for lines of communication to be open however that's basically where the common sense stops because these lines of communication in this case were used to Target parents just as we saw the FBI do with regards to targeting parents all over this country for you know voicing their opinion at school board meetings so long story short parent posts a photograph and and a post showing the the explicit content at her child's School some Army Lieutenant Colonel sees the post and gets the police chief to investigate and harass the local parent now on a brief admin note I'm not going to drop this specific lieutenant colonel's name right now because of several reasons uh for one this guy is clearly trying to Target people so uh you know that's that's not good but also I want to make absolutely certain that this actually is the guy because so far the documents that I have seen and reviewed uh have had many names okay so it's not just this one guy there are a lot of people in this this chain here right so I just want to make sure before we drop any names or if we drop any names you can easily Google this this guy's name you can once you figure out you know hey just Google the story this is made national press uh back in November or actually I think in December is when I think Fox News picked it up either way I can tell you that the interesting part about this story is the next part so I started looking into this Lieutenant Colonel right and I just Googled his name and one of the absolute first results that popped up was this stock photo from a stock photo website uh detailing his recent change of command and wouldn't you know it look at what unit he was the commander of a military information support Battalion hmm would you look at that you might know this kind of unit colloquially as psyops so what this story looks like is a psyops commander directed a local police chief to Target a parent because her child saw something obscene at school man I I tell you I I don't think I can comment on what that means and how serious this is so so I'm just gonna move on and let this kind of stew for a bit and if you guys want some homework go read into this story a little bit but I can tell you that this doesn't seem to be an isolated incident okay uh this has happened before and this is not the last time this is going to happen I can guarantee that so moving to the Southeast region we get to more traditional stuff uh and that is the well let's start with the Gulf Coast for a minute um there have been an awful lot of Refinery and Pipeline and terminal issues down in the Gulf Coast uh for a variety of reasons it's really kind of hard to explain we could probably talk about this for for quite a bit more but let me just give you the kind of short and sweet version is that the the winter weather that we had last month the kind of you know whatever buzzword Arctic blast uh went through the country uh broke a lot of stuff but not just that because we can kind of compensate for maintenance issues a lot of times but things that we can't really fix that that quickly are staffing issues and someone who doesn't know how to do their job and just other maintenance deficits or or other kinds of problems it doesn't appear like all these refineries at least in the Gulf Coast in this specific instant I'm talking about all these issues that we saw with the winter weather or that you know kind of popped up around the the same time last month these don't appear to be particularly nefarious because it just looks like there's there's a lot of things going on here and it's just kind of snowballing into just bad stuff right parts not being there staff not being there cold weather breaking things people not knowing how to fix things people not knowing how to prevent things from happening you know we're getting to the point now where our infrastructure is crumbling and I think it's quite obvious and when you look at places like Pol refiner areas and pipelines places that have some of the most skilled work in the entire country you know what happens when you have a a non-skilled person or someone who's not experienced working at some of these places you get a lot of a lot of issues now that doesn't I want to separate these issues out from all the other ones we've seen I don't think that anyone in the country can look at refineries Catching Fire all over the country in the past year and say that that's normal it's it's not it's clearly not we know this instinctively it's just a gut feeling we don't even need to look at any data to to see how often refineries Catch Fire however when it comes to you know severe weather or or any kind of slightly out of the norm weather we have a lot of problems that pop up and are the result of many things it's really hard to pinpoint and point the finger at one thing all we know is that it just sucks and that's just the way that it is now I'm going to keep an eye on the refineries as usual and see which ones you know kind of miraculously have an accident next because that's a norm apparently every time we brief something something else has had some kind of incident at it but so again we'll keep keep an eye on this stuff and I just want to let everyone know that you know we're not out of the woods yet with our infrastructure we still have a long way to go and we're just beginning to see I think uh the the the the the snowball at the top of the hill right and we're about to see it uh accelerate rapidly uh just based on the amount of uh things we've seen happen right even just none taking nefarious things out of it even just some out of accidents we've seen happen genuine accidents and the amount of genuine maintenance problems that alone uh can be very crippling to any infrastructural system moving on to the topic that has United many Americans more than I have seen in recent years uh the potential gas stove ban so the Biden regime is planning to or floating the idea of potentially outright Banning natural gas stoves uh the reasoning behind this ban is very much unknown at the moment we're hearing about this from the consumer product safety commission and they have not provided really any of the research but we're getting anecdotal evidence as a brief side note many of you have noticed that apparently news headlines are law because that is the way that a lot of companies and entities and agencies have been treating things over the past year or so we all remember how for instance the IRS came out with that whole uh 600 limit thing you've got a report you know his income kind of thing well guess what all of the platforms out there PayPal venmo uh cash app all of these Services went ahead and implemented that policy even though no one had ever actually seen the policy so it's like what's going on here so I think that's what's happening with this gas stove ban thing it's not an official policy nothing has been signed nothing has even been written just yet it's just kind of an idea that has floated to the news media and since the news media now apparently make law or something to that effect what I think is going to happen is a lot of states and localities are going to ban gas stoves at the local level without the feds having to get involved in it it's brilliant honestly if you think about it from a nefarious like you know Devil's advocacy kind of situation if you were the Biden regime what would you do because remember we've been briefing this for a couple of years now The Binding regime has actually had a pretty hard time in some cases with virtue signaling a lot of times the news media doesn't know how to spin a story so and the Biden regime is not able to answer you know hey how should I spin this story and I'm CNN writing an editorial on something around the Atlantic writing an editorial on something and they they don't know how to spin the story because they don't know what the federal government wants they don't know what the Biden regime wants them to say so they just kind of wing it and really that's a problem because sometimes they get it wrong well this is quite clear the Biden regime has signaled to all of the virtue signaling entities your media your local governments your local city council your local your local County Commissioners all of these agencies in entities now are fully aware of what the feds want and they want a ban on gas stoves right so the feds don't have to lift a finger they don't have to write anything because again Biden can just sit at his desk and wave his magic wand and apparently a news head news news headline will become law so that's kind of the situation as as I see it and the really really the big concern moving forward we don't have any information other than that nothing has been signed nothing's been published we don't even have the research that led the consumer product safety commission to say that gas stoves are harmful for people we just have General anecdotal evidence I challenge you to find what the what the consumer product safety commission is actually talking about because so far all I've seen is circular reporting One news agency says oh well the cpsc says they're harmful well and they cite another news agency who then cites another news agency who then cites some guy on Twitter who then cites some random employee at cpsc and they can't actually find me a directive for something so again by the time this goes out I'm sure they will be something in writing because the modern regime doesn't like to wait on things like totalitarianism but it's interesting this is another illustration of how laws can get in effect made like it's a de facto law it's a de facto regulation people are following laws that don't exist yet and it's happening all over the country so I would very much recommend people to kind of look into this a little bit more now to walk a lot of this back and to bring this back to a more uh a more clear perspective I guess we have to be aware that this might quite literally be the most palpable case of gaslighting we've ever seen okay and I trust me the irony is not lost on me on this now what I mean by that is the Biden regime can float this idea okay they can float this idea they can leak it to the press the Press freaks out every American freaks out because guess what I've seen some data you know again studies and and statistics are made up nowadays so who knows if this number is accurate but apparently rarely as many as 30 percent of the entire country thirty percent potentially a third of the citizens of this country use gas stoves so you're now telling them that they're going to have to go buy a new uh stove or something we don't we don't know when the government's telling us right because there's no information but either way what I mean is if this is going to happen this is going to be very very very severe and the impacts of this will be very widely felt now where the gaslighting comes in is the vitamin regime can say oh no no no you misunderstood we never meant to ban gas stoves we meant to ban like this kind of gas stove or like this kind of connector that nobody uses or or some some specific technical jargon that nobody understands or that isn't actually used right so they can walk it back and they can say well no no you were spreading misinformation we weren't going to ban gas stoves despite the fact that's exactly what we said uh we were never going to ban gas stoves and you're just spreading misinformation and shame on you and you know know there you go so they can walk it back very easily and Gaslight the heck out of us if they want um which I think is probably what's going to happen because man I tell you if you if anybody bans gas stoves oh boy uh man I I don't know the impacts of that uh I can tell you it's not going to be good um oh boy and then the next question is all right well what about gas heat because good let me tell you something a lot more people rely on gas heat uh than you think and uh that's not going to be good um I did see one Theory and and I I agree that it's kind of an interesting idea is that I forgot where I saw it so sorry if if you know you had this idea first I've literally just forgot where I saw it uh somebody had the idea that this might be the result or or it might be intended to drive a wedge between urban and rural populations yet another divide right and it's not a bad idea because uh natural gas is not available in the middle of nowhere like I live in the middle of nowhere now and I there there's no gas line anywhere near me I don't think there's any natural gas in my entire County to be honest you know that's a interesting thing you know natural gas is really kind of a big thing in cities but not so much in the rural areas so rural people are not going to be affected by this really at all but people in cities will be it's an interesting Theory I just wanted to mention it because like I said I saw it somewhere or maybe it's just a fever dream I had I don't know but I thought I wanted to mention it so very very severe stuff very uh significant stuff if it actually comes to fruition the other thing I wanted to mention and I'll mention it here because the decision took place in Washington DC so I figured I might as well throw it in here and that is the pentagons floating idea or submitting The Proposal I suppose is the best best way of describing it for a zero trust infrastructure for well the internet at large I guess now the idea of a zero trust infrastructure in the field of cyber security fairly a fairly simple construct but it gets really complicated in actuality uh now I again have stated many times I am not a cyber security expert so I am most certainly not going to go into the details of how this all works but I can say that I know enough to to know that this kind of thing is very concerning now to explain zero trust concepts for the layperson which includes me it really is kind of a a complex idea think of it like this in the past or even today actually uh you have passwords for things right you have a username you have an email account and you log into a website with a password even physical security you have a physical badge that gets you access into facilities or a PIN number you can put in to open or unlock a door okay once an entity or a company or an agency has given you access to something you have access to it right you may not have Total Access real it's not how it usually works like after all I can't log in to you know say Gmail for instance and get access to Google servers no no I just have access to the client side kind of stuff right if I were to use Gmail and likewise if you have a badge or some kind of key code to get into a building chances are you're not going to have you know a master code right the whole concept of access to things whether it's cyber security or physical security relies on a person being the the the vector by which trust can be given it's not so much talking about trusting an individual person or not trusting a traditional person it's about removing this this this construct altogether because here's the thing we gave Edward Snowden trust right he was trusted by the NSA he got he got a really high security clearance and he got a lot of passwords and logins and a lot of stuff same thing with Bradley Manning right so maybe using the concept of you know access or no access is not really the construct to move forward maybe we need something else maybe we need something that is you know various applications various you know tools that that are on the software side of things that can make sure that everything is running smoothly because as we all know we're in an age of cyber attacks right someone gets access to a system they can shut it down whether it's a you know a tractor sitting in a field that's connected to some server you know or cell tower or something or if it's you know a colonial pipeline right either way using if you remove the the the understanding of providing access to someone based on a trust or no trust you know criteria if and if you go to a whole new system itself that's kind of the way forward with regards to cyber security that's a little bit hard to understand and I fully admit I don't completely understand it myself either because there's a lot of there's a lot of ways to kind of get to where you want to go with with zero trust infrastructure the bottom line for why you the average citizen should care about this is that this is a fantastic way to lock you out of the internet if they don't like you on it and here's what I mean by that one of the closest ways that you get to kind of a zero trust infrastructure is what we already kind of know throughout the cryptocurrency world and that is the dreaded kyc or know your customer in other words the bane of anyone who has ever tried to buy cryptocurrency newsflash it's not exactly 2010 right you can't just go online and buy cryptocurrency with the you know with a credit card or something uh anonymously it doesn't work like that even if you were using you know a credit card that wouldn't be anonymous but the point is is that if you want to buy cryptocurrency today in 2023 you're gonna have to put your social security number in somewhere uh now there are some things and ways around this but to be honest in terms of most cryptocurrency there really isn't especially the most common cryptocurrencies so this is kind of one of those the kind of the closest way I can think of explaining a zero trust infrastructure is I can guarantee you kyc requirements are going to be a huge part of a zero trust infrastructure um or at least while the system's kind of getting its way out you know getting working its way out through through the development and stuff like that so again bottom line this is your indication and warning this is the video that you can look back in a couple of years time and point back and say I Told You So when you are locked out of your email account or your bank or your company because of something you said or thought or something you didn't say this kind of infrastructure the zero trust infrastructure for me not being a cyber security guy not being a technical expert it on the one hand it seems kind of the way forward when it comes to cyber security but on the other hand it seems like a great way to prevent me from getting on the internet at some point right it's it's a great way to build a off an authorized list of users on the internet which is going to be kind of a basic requirement for this moving forward and go from there again I'm not doing a super good job of explaining this and you I'm sure far more technical experts will pop up in the in the comments to to kind of explain this a little bit better but the point is is here's the timeline 2020 7 this is from their own slide this is the dod's actual product that explains what the dod is working on and I don't know about you but look you know living in the world today and knowing how the world Works anytime the dod does something I'm very suspicious okay you know I I've hey I hate that I have to explain that at this point but anytime the dod develops something it's going to be used against Americans at some point so I'm really kind of concerned that the timeline for this is so short and the dod is going to figure out a way to do this and this would be a great way to implement you know social credit this would be a great way to implement you know some kind of you know social ban on any kind of any any of the systems that keep our society running so I wanted to kind of bring this out as kind of homework for you guys if you were more interested in this I'm not particularly surprised and honestly you don't really need to know much more information beyond what I've already told you to make a decision and the decision you know it should be look hey you need to start kind of moving away from these kinds of systems because let me tell you something the reason that we don't have such a great Communications infrastructure as is is because of how big these problems are the nature of the internet uh in and of itself you know servers connected to other servers that are controlled by other people the way that https traffic works it is an infrastructure that is very helpful if you don't want people on it and if you control the way internet traffic works at the very base level you control a lot of things and I'm very concerned about that so that's why I wanted to to mention it here so I'll just kind of leave it at that and move on to the next wildly different topic which is something that I realized recently has a name which I didn't think it did and that is transnational repression transnational repression is fascinating and terrifying and here's what it is transnational repression is something that we kind of we know happens we know this happens but we think that it's on a small scale so small in fact that I didn't even think that it had a name I thought it was just oh wow okay that was kind of a rare thing this is when a foreign government chooses to intimidate assault imprison arrest or whatever its citizens while they are in another country now that should ring a bell because CNN ran this article from a while back I think it was last month yeah in which CNN of all places admitted that China is operating over 100 police stations across the world with the help of some host Nations report claims that's the actual headline of this news article from CNN I'm shocked right again this is something that's not new at all we we have known that this occurs all over the world particularly with China China is a nation that is obsessed with its citizens and more accurately I suppose obsessed with controlling its citizens because that's how it maintains power it China is a communist Nation they quite literally are Xi Jinping or Xi Jinping however you pronounce his name he is not the president of China China does not have a president he is the General Secretary of the Chinese Communist party it's right there on this Wikipedia page so when communist Nations do things like this when they are very concerned with citizens of theirs outside of their Nations uh we have things like the East-West Berlin Dynamic back during the Cold War we have very interesting things occur well the same thing's happening today and we now know it's become public record that there are secret Chinese police stations all over the United States that secretly detain and sometimes torture their citizens for saying or doing something and thinking that being in the US they're outside the reach of China well they most certainly are not the scary part about all of this you might think okay well this is kind of this is still pretty rare right it's pretty fascinating and and slightly terrifying that China you know is concerned about their own citizens this much but you know any historian is going to tell you this is not surprising at all so if we recognize this is happening and you know even though your average citizen out there in the United States is going to say well you know how does this affect me I you know after all I'm not a Chinese National living in the United States you know for those people man it sucks and you know I would be very concerned about you know being either you know assassinated or captured or imprisoned you know in some safe house that the Chinese government has set up in New York I'd be very concerned about that if I was a Chinese citizen you know not so much if I'm an American here's where it gets a little concerning for the American citizens listening and that is that the feds are now on to this and it has become so much of a problem that the FBI has set up a a a website and a hotline and and all kinds of threat intimidation guides to help citizens Escape their own Nation now again this is the FBI and it is very clear that the FBI has their own goals and those goal goals I do not think align with anything good but I it is very interesting that now the FBI is is quietly trying to spread the word about this and trying to address this issue of foreign police officers exerting their influence and taking jurisdiction on the U.S soil I have to be very careful when describing this because I don't want the runaway trains of the past we all remember that four month period of time where I was getting about 200 emails a day regarding uh people claiming that China had invaded Canada or that uh there were remember all those um uh cargo ships off the coast of California yeah yeah those uh shipping containers were all full of Chinese agents and Chinese spies and the Chinese military were planning to invade Via San Francisco yeah I've lived that nightmare of trying to walk that back and kind of show people that yes okay concerns valid it's not true moving on when it comes to this this is very much true and it is so much true that the FBI is now issuing memos to lower uh law enforcement you know local law enforcement agencies trying to explain to them that this is a huge threat now and to what should a local police officer do if they encounter a Chinese police officer trying to arrest a Chinese citizen on U.S soil that is a huge concern because the FBI doesn't do anything unless it has already become too much of a problem too too big of a problem so I just wanted to kind of point that out that uh this is a much bigger problem than just to see in an article there are actual agencies tracking this and trying to figure out what to do about it because again this is a foreign Nation conducting policing actions on U.S soil and that's a huge problem again for the average citizen out there what can you do about it I don't know I mean I'm just going to be completely honest with you and say look I don't think that the you know you can contact the FBI you know they've got a hotline they've got a number but I don't think it's going to help because at that stage good grief you know it's kind of a serious problem so so again I wanted to bring this up and make everyone aware that this is an issue so that when it becomes more of an issue in the in the future we can under have a basis for understanding of how all this works now again let me walk it back a little bit and say look I don't think you're going to walk into a Chinese police officer in your everyday life this is going to be a very select problem for a select few but hey if you're at a university you know and you've got the majority of say a nuclear engineering class is you know Chinese Nationals I mean when I was in college I had to take a few uh courses and uh the courses which were about things like uh energy policy and nuclear engineering turned out to all be Iranian students in one class I was one of three U.S passport holding American citizens and the rest of them were um either Iranian or Chinese Nationals so that's another problem for another day I suppose but for these people um you know if they're not spies themselves which I think you know a good portion of them are uh it's it's a it's a concerning thing especially for Chinese Nationals trying to flee China or flee Hong Kong or or things like that or or you know big names that have already left the country uh China is again a nation that is obsessed uh with not being humiliated and uh if you tend to humiliate China and you are a Chinese National well that doesn't tend to end well for you so again just wanted to bring it up and make everyone aware of this because this is going to be a huge problem for the foreseeable future I think moving on to the East Central midwestern region let's bring it back to our old standby of chemical manufacturing plants catching on fire and in this case our our winner for this time around is LaSalle County Illinois specifically Keras chemical hopefully I pronounced all that right uh they had a very large fire slash an explosion at their chemical plant and this one is very suspicious because the ex it started first of all with an explosion that began from inside a shipping container and um yeah kind of kind of suspicious there of course was nobody around the I don't know if the facility was occupied at the time of the explosion or not uh but there was no one around the shipping container when it exploded and also there is uh apparently Hazmat concerns because immediately following the explosion and multiple alarm fire uh a green oxidizing substance was observed to be leaking from the facility uh which had to be neutralized uh via you know various you know chemicals uh by firefighters so again not a super not a super great thing again when we talk about factories or or chemical plants or stuff like that you know blowing up or Catching Fire we have to look at you know everything we have to look at all sources right and one of the major things that I personally look for is all right was a facility abandoned at the time because if it was abandoned at the time that's going to be a a huge indicator that it it might not be as nefarious as you think because what is the point of a Black Ops wet work team you know attacking a facility that has no one working at it what is the point of some kind of social movement or domestic group I should say attacking a facility that's not in use right however we do see places that are abandoned burned down all the time due to drug use due to vagrancy due to a variety of factors right even even accidents or lightning strikes are the result of a lot of this with this plant they had just Broken Ground on a 20 million dollar expansion of the plant in August of 2022. so they were doing pretty good it seems they were expanding the plant they were looking at growing I've got a dozen photos online about you know showing their their grand expansion right and now suddenly their plant gets crippled by some kind of incident that we're not really sure about that started inside a shipping container very interesting I don't know if this plant has a history of safety violations my quick you know Google Foo did not really reveal anything usually if you Google one of these company names like the one last time I forget the name they had like a laundry list of fires and and and maintenance problems and staff having problems and it was just like an accident a day for years until you know the thing finally just just had enough and blew up this one I didn't really find anything now I'm sure somebody out there knows uh the history of this plant especially locals might know uh what's going on there but uh just let everybody know I wasn't able to find any kind of significant history of negligency at this plant at least for my my brief search so again we'll chalk that one up to some kind of you know incident and we'll just keep it in our memory and move on and wait for the next one moving on to the West Central midwestern region you guys get a reprieve from the bit of bad news this time around I wasn't able to find anything uh that occurred that was worth mentioning uh this time around I'm sure next time I'll find something but but let's go ahead and move on down to the southern border region and uh for the rest of the states that are in this you know kind of area I didn't really have much I really just kind of wanted to focus on the Texas border again and like I mentioned last time uh sorry I haven't really had time to drill down and and provide a lot of the information that I wanted to for this so let me just say this and that is the Border crisis is continuing and growing worse however the response to it is getting a little bit better in some areas but it certainly looks like the events over the past month or so especially with Biden's high profile visit down there uh this is a this is a losing battle particularly with the cross-border violence that is likely to occur from the incidents going on in Mexico now I know a lot of you wanted me to have a dedicated slide on this I got it I'm working on it I'm still building the maps for this and trying to figure out what's going on because I am not a South America analyst I'm not a Central America analyst I've never been there and I'm having a lot I'm having to do a lot of learning because um just you know spoiler alert the cartel situation in South and Central America and in Mexico is kind of complicated and it goes back kind of a long way so really what you need to know for now is that El Chapo's son one of the biggest cartel leaders in the area really the signaloa cartel right everybody's everybody's seen sicario right so no further explanation needed right well no really El Chapo's son was arrested and and uh the signaloa boys have have gotten a little spicy and they've basically declared a general mobilization against the Mexican Government until they release him well the Mexican Government is not going to release him he's going to be extradited to the United States or at least that's what they claim so far either way I I will I I will delve into the the situation in Mexico a little bit more at some point when I get time to actually learn about the situation and then I can you know speak more intelligently on it all we know is that you can hop on social media right now and see an awful lot of warfare going on in pretty much all over Mexico right now because of this now when it comes to the United States uh coming into the coming into the situation uh this just makes a bad situation worse right it makes an already tense board situation where there are thousands of active duty soldiers thousands and and hundreds of law enforcement from every badge you can imagine every agency you can imagine is down there at the border and you can argue whether or not that's enough people or not everybody knows that in no operation are you going to have enough people to do what you want to do but there are an awful lot of people down there it's a very tense situation there is a very high chance for international incidents right we have already seen cartel members attacking U.S soldiers who are standing guard on the border at some of these more high profile locations and it's not good there have been dozens of incidents since the start of this whole border crisis which granted is decades in the making but the bottom line is that right now it's pucker Factor 9.5 down there and it's not likely to get any better anytime soon so please be advised that this is a situation that's going to develop further now again to to keep things in perspective I don't think we have to worry so much about you know the cartels invading the United States that's not what I'm saying is going to happen uh we certainly have to worry about the humanitarian crisis we have to worry about the the immigration crisis or we have to worry about a lot of things but I'm not so much looking for cartel members trying to invade the United States that's that's not what's going on here what I mean is you're probably going to have a lot of U.S soldiers targeted uh either for political reasons or just because they're guys with guns in close proximity to other guys with guns who are probably very upset about the situation in their country right now so even though there is really no motivation whatsoever for the violence that's going on in Mexico to spill over into the United States there might be a little bit of a reason for justification now a huge flash point to look out for is when you see start seeing news headlines saying that the extradition of ovidio Guzman the El Chapo's son right uh when his extradition has happened okay because right now uh a judge in Mexico has has halted his extradition while they figure out what's going on here so again when that extradition takes place because it will most likely take place the US has been trying to hunt this guy for a long time ever since you know we got El Chapo himself this guy's a very senior member of the Sinaloa cartel so we're not going to let this guy get away if we have to go down there and get him ourselves which is most likely what's going to happen either way uh the bottom line is that for guys down there on the border if you see this dude's extradition is taking place because you're most likely not going to know about when it takes place ahead of time uh it's going to be handled by very special people in very special ways right they're going to sneak this guy back across the border into the U.S somehow well when that happens it's going to make the news and you need to be very careful about the situation down there on the border because then all those dudes with with guns were very upset about their their senior boss getting arrested uh they're now going to have a justification to start pointing those barrels towards the border so I just wanted to bring that up and mention that this is kind of a big deal and even though I'm not an expert on it right now I can clearly see the writing on the wall and that's probably probably not very good so again something to keep an eye on for the future and moving out west getting back to the tradition of things we have many many attacks that have occurred on electrical substations so again I'm not going to mention all the ones that have occurred in the Pacific Northwest in Oregon and Washington there have been around half a dozen or so within the past couple of months and they have ranged from possible theft to vandalism to tampering to actually like shooting it you know uh Transformers and things like that it's really kind of hard to say because a lot of these things are not they're not making the press in the way that you'd want them to make the Press because the major media is running the headline there's no information there because well you know Federal authorities are not going to release the details of these attacks to the mainstream public which on the one hand makes a lot of sense because the feds are obviously not going to want to encourage or or provide targeting guidance for people trying to Target other places around the country you know so keeping those details secret is it makes a lot of sense however by keeping things secret the general public and you know ourselves included are not able to discern why these places were attacked or if there was something that we could do to prevent it because for instance we're sending hundreds of millions of dollars to another country that shall not be named uh but if we can't afford a 50 padlock for a facility then that's a problem you know if we're not going to it's cheaper to file an insurance claim to get a half million dollar Transformer out to a specific site than it is to you know buy that you know security guard to stand there and watch it all day either way the result for people like you and me is the same we don't have electricity for a few days and this is a concern especially for uh incidents like the one that occurred at the PG and E facility uh really just a small uh substation well it really wasn't a substation it's actually a solar farm it provided uh power to a lot of the casinos in Las Vegas now this incident was very interesting and this was a I'm going to call it I have it on the slide Harris probable I'm going to call it an almost certain Islamic terrorist attack really the attack Vector was this it was a guy drove his vehicle into the mega array the solar array that provides power again for MGM Resorts uh in Las Vegas he rammed his vehicle through the gate and then some press reports are reporting that he siphoned gasoline out of the tank and set the Ablaze including the Transformer or some kind of electrical apparatus that he drove his vehicle into now you might note the date on this this occurred on January 7th slash eighth right we became aware of it on the eighth and it probably occurred overnight on the January on January 7th now this coincides interestingly enough with Al qaeda's usual yearly press statement so for the past few years Al Qaeda has you know still been around there's still a thing uh and they have issued uh directives slash like a happy New Year death to America message right and the one for this year specifically recommended uh their people to carry out attacks on U.S soil I think this is just me spitballing with very little evidence to back it up so just be aware of that but I think that's what the reason for this attack was I think that your your Lone Wolf attacks probably funded by some domestic U.S agency uh carry out these kinds of attack that's why I think we saw another attack in New York City Times Square on New Year's Eve a police officer was attacked with a machete uh and I think that's also why we're seeing some of these attacks right that message came out and you know your Lone Wolf extremists here in the United States were motivated to do stuff like that again it just kind of shows you that the counterterrorism has never really been an easy job but at the same time I would be willing to bet that these kinds of things are would have been easily preventable had the right people been working in the in the counterterrorism industry and had the counterterrorism agencies in the United States actually being concerned with tracking uh foreign terrorists rather than uh trying to Target parents at school board meetings but again you know there's no real way for me to describe this these kinds of things in neutral language anymore you know I just have to call it like I see it and you know I would be willing to bet my my thought is that around New Year's time we saw Al Qaeda release their message and boom now we have uh a few a handful of attacks happening in the United States low level attacks it really didn't have too much of of an effect but still it's like man hey a rookie analyst could have could have called this you know I mean these federal agencies are spying on us no matter what and they're investigating people for for speaking out of school board meetings but yet they can't actually dedicate time to conducting counter-terrorism operations that are relatively easy to do these guys would have been very easy to find because it's always like you know they were known to the FBI beforehand but anyway that's a whole lot of speculation that I'm sure you guys don't really want to hear so I'll just end my kind of ranting and raving on that for now and let's move to something a little bit more interesting and that is uh we're gonna skip over the entirety of Europe for now sorry guys and we're gonna move to kind of the the I don't want to call it a bigger threat but an interesting threat and that is the Far East yes the invasion of Taiwan by China the ultimate will they won't they this is something that has been debated by military strategists that get paid a lot more than me for a very long time and no one seems to have a really good answer for any of this will China invade Taiwan nobody knows uh we know generally what it would look like uh very very generally and we know that China has been making very strong aspirations toward the small island nation over the past well year few years but really the past few months for instance last month they launched one of their largest uh military exercises the largest one they've ever done which was like 70-something aircraft including bombers Fighters you name it it looked like it the party was about to start but uh they would have to have thousands of aircraft in the air for that but again I am not a Far East analyst I've never spent any time at paycom and nobody else here has either so I'm having to kind of get spun up on that as well the reason you might care about an invasion of Taiwan by China is well for a few reasons but really the the main theory is the the island chain Theory which states that if China is going to invade Taiwan they're going to have to keep going and they know that if they take Taiwan it's going to take the vast majority of their military and they're going to have to kind of expand into South southeast Asia and especially the South China Sea if they have any hope of winning that conflict uh really you can kind of very generally see where China is going to have to do exactly what Japan did during World War II they're going to have to take these small island chains Island hop as far as they can before before well the world mobilizes against them will this cause World War III I don't know um back in the day man when I was kind of like a junior analyst I always though

Hello again everyone and welcome back to the underground. This is the intel update for July 27th through August 2nd, 2025. It has unfortunately been a rather brutal week around the United States when it comes to general crime. So today I'm only going to be able to scratch the surface. I am still trying to get caught up with regards to a lot of the kinetic activities and events that have been going on around the country and around the world. But from a very wavetop level, we can cover some of the more high-profile incidents that have occurred around the United States. most of which pertains to a few cases of very brutal but also very random crimes. Of course, with the general caveat that it's really hard to determine if if there really is an increase in crime or not, but random violence appears to be uh on the rise at least. The other big news this week has pertains to the developments in Washington, mostly regarding the Epstein scandal and how that story continues to become worse somehow every day. It is a very fatiguing topic. I I know uh but we have to keep this in our mind mostly so that it's not forgotten but also due to the national security risks. So moving over to Europe, the big concerns this week have been largely the fallout from the online safety act and the spread of privacy reduction efforts throughout the continent really at this point. And fortunately some good news for once in Southeast Asia. The war between Cambodia and Thailand is mostly over. The issue is most certainly not settled. Uh both Cambodia and Thailand still hate each other fairly effectively. But the air strikes and the shelling of each other has uh largely subsided for now. We'll have to see if it holds. Uh probably won't hold, but maybe we can get a few more months of peace before things uh flare back up again. So, that's the general overview for this week. Let's talk strategic movement. And there has been quite significant strategic movement over the past few days. We've got multiple carrier strike groups that are underway right now. Most of them are either conducting training or uh swapping out. So the Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group and the Teddy Roosevelt are out in the Pacific right now. The Gerald Ford is in the Med or at least was seen off the coast of Italy a few days ago. The Nimttz remains in the Indian Ocean and the Washington carrier strike group was noted off the coast of Indonesia a few days ago. I also briefly wanted to mention because I think it does qualify as a strategic movement sort of thing, the comments that President Trump made last night in which he stated that he has ordered the deployment of two quote unquote to nuclear submarines to an ambiguous location. I'm assuming probably the Norwegian Sea or the Arctic. This is mostly a posturing move in response to uh both Russia's recent statements or statements by Dmitri Medvidev that have been a little bit inflammatory, more inflammatory than usual and also the general sentiment of the United States trying to pressure Russia into a peace deal with Ukraine. So this is one of those cold war things. It's not really concerning in the slightest to be honest. I don't know what he means when he says nuclear submarines. All American submarines are nuclear. So, I don't know if he means nuclear capable like a, you know, SSBN, a boomer submarine, or if he's talking about a nuclearpowered submarine, like an attack sub. I don't know. It it doesn't really matter. It's just kind of one of those things that the mainstream media has picked up and people are kind of freaking out about it. This is not concerning in the slightest. Uh, really, this is kind of a normal thing. I would be very shocked to learn that we don't have submarines off of, you know, Russia's coast at all times, especially the mouth of the White Sea. Uh that's pretty much a standard deployment area and has been so since I don't know the 80s. But you know, anytime the president says the word nuclear and talks about nuclear submarines, this kind of gets a little bit more inflammatory than normal and people kind of get all spun up over stuff like this. So I don't know, Russia will probably do something in in retaliation. They normally what they like to do during the summertime especially is they'll send an Aula down. They'll send one of their attack subs and just kind of, you know, hang out off the east coast of the United States. They like to do this around American holidays especially just to kind of well one to let us know that you know they're watching but also to ruin our holiday plans uh to you know recall people to base to you know go out and monitor some kind of submarine or mo mostly aircraft. They tend to do that quite a lot. They'll do a long range aviation mission and they'll fly some of their bombers usually off our west coast. Um it doesn't normally get much press. The United States will talk about an interception and things like that. So that's my personal guess as to what they're going to probably do. They may wait till the next holiday. They may do it now. Who knows? It's just one of those cold war things. It's not really concerning. When when nations stop doing these kinds of things is probably more concerning. Either way, doesn't really matter. I just thought I'd mention it because this is probably going to be in the news cycle for the next few days. So, moving on to just a quick map update. I'm I'm still trying to get caught up with all of the mapping projects that I have. the kinetic activity tracker, the common intelligence picture, all these uh different layers and map map products that I that I make. I've still got a lot of data to input on the map, but what I'm working on now is kind of a work in progress is I'm going through because I found a few good sources. I'm going through and mapping all of the sites in the United Kingdom, uh which have been uh helping out, uh with regards to human trafficking and helping uh migrants get a more solidified foothold in the United Kingdom. I was working on our own American border crisis stuff, but I've started to add this to the map as well simply because of the online safety act and now that the Great British Firewall is in effect and the British people are now having a hard time accessing information. I wanted to get this at least in my own data sets. So, this is really just what I've been able to do so far. This is just a snapshot of of some of the sites that are hosting illegal immigration into the United Kingdom. Or I guess it shouldn't be really called illegal immigration in the United Kingdom because they've made it legal. So I guess we'll just call it what it is on the map, which is human trafficking. So So this data set will incorporate all of the sites in the United Kingdom that are kind of doing the same thing as as what's going on here in the United States, but more deliberately in the UK because they have really industrialized it a little bit more than than we have in many areas. So, please bear with me as I build out this data set. This is just a sample. This is just the Manchester, Liverpool area, and I'm just getting started. So, it's going to take me a few more days to kind of finish this out. So, stay tuned for updates on that. And of course, all of these data layers, maps, online maps, KMZs, all that stuff. You can find that in the description box below. So, moving through the United States, speaking of immigration issues, an incident occurred in Maine this week, which didn't really get much press, which is the arrest of a man by ICE for immigration violations. He was a visa overstay from Jamaica. But once they did a little bit more investigation, they found out this guy is actually a police officer. The town of Old Orchard Beach uh decided to hire this individual as a police officer even though he was a visa overstay from Jamaica. So, it's kind of interesting because it's Maine and a lot of people uh seem to be quite shocked when they learn that illegal aliens can in fact be police officers in many states. They've made that legal over the past year. Kind of interesting. It'll be even more interesting to find out what the feds are going to do about this because it's not like they're able to hide which police officers they have on their force, you know, so ICE can very easily find out which police officers are illegal aliens. And uh yeah, I don't know if they have any interest in in going after some of these police departments or whatnot, but I guess it'll be interesting to see. And speaking of crime, there have been several very brutal attacks that have occurred throughout the southeast region this week. In Georgia, there was an attempted murder at the Low Gap campground. Details are still very sketchy on this situation, but this was a wilderness area campground in which a man and his daughter were attacked by a group of people. The man was hit over the head with a glass bottle which knocked him out and gave him a very severe series of lacerations. The man's daughter, who was a 20-year-old woman, was able to fend off her attackers by stabbing one or several of them. I haven't been able to verify that or not, but yeah, fairly brutal attack uh in basically the middle of nowhere. Same story in Arkansas. a double homicide occurred at the Devil's Den State Park. This story continues to develop and I'm sure there will be a lot more uh more recent information by the time this brief comes out on this case, but this truly does look like one of those random uh psychopaths in the woods hunting people kind of thing. And unfortunately, both of these cases, both the assault in Georgia and the Arkansas murders, both of them really do highlight the risks that are now present, and I don't know if they've always been present, but they're certainly present now with regards to remote areas. We can bring up any level of statistics that show the level of violence and crime that occurs in, you know, state parks versus cities and, you know, inner city areas. We can analyze it very heavily when it comes to the statistics. But just from a gut assessment perspective, you've got to remember that if you're out in the middle of nowhere and your average 911 call time, if you can even get cell service, your average respon response time is going to be probably half a day. You've got to take that into account and and and prepare and plan accordingly. getting severe lacerations to an artery is a lot different in, you know, a city where 911 or authorities may even be witnessing the attack. It's a lot different uh when you've got that happen in a very populated area versus in the middle of nowhere, right? That's why, and I I don't know if the statistics back this up, but it seems like when you have crimes that occur in the middle of nowhere, state parks, wilderness areas, things like that, these are crimes that tend to take place over a long period of time. It's not just a oneanddone. somebody sucker punches somebody and then runs away. No, these crimes take a very long period of time uh to come to completion such as the case in Arkansas which that that appears to be a you know very long event unfortunately. So that's something to keep in mind from a riskmanagement perspective. Most people either directly or indirectly subconsciously understand the concept of the idea that when seconds count help is hours away. Like that's just kind of the American attitude at this point. I think maybe not for everybody, but for a lot of people, but these types of very gruesome crimes still keep happening and it's something to definitely be aware of. Sometimes people forget, sometimes people uh think that because of a certain political event or development that they're safe now, and that's just that's definitely not the case, regardless of who's who's in charge, right? Also, in the southeast region, I did want to mention the arson attack that occurred in Virginia. Just as a point of clarification, because I realize a lot of people had uh confusions about this when they saw the news story, in a lot of small towns around the United States, I'm not sure how it is in in bigger cities, but in smaller towns, it's very common for county commissioners and for city council members to have day jobs. So, they don't do that full-time. And that's what happened here. So, this person was a city councilman, but he wasn't attacked at the city council uh chambers or the city hall or anything like that. He was attacked at his day job, which was at a magazine company. So, he worked for a publishing uh company that owned a few different uh magazines and publications for the local area. So, anyway, the guy who had agreements with him for some personal reason, at least that's what the locals are saying. It was a personal thing. It wasn't a political thing, but but anyway, asalent barges into this guy's office, dumps 5 gallons of gasoline on the floor, and uh the city councilman obviously runs away from the area uh covered in gasoline. And the the attacker had a scuffle with him out in the street uh right right on the sidewalk there, outside this building. and ended up setting him on fire. So, that's pretty much all that we know about the situation as far as I can tell. But obviously, this level of very brutal crime is uh something that you don't see too often in a small town like this. So, indications and warnings, I guess, of uh general sentiment throughout the United States maybe, or at least uh in some areas, which definitely seems to be a trend. Now moving over to the west coast, another unfortunate trend is the deliberate and kinetic targeting and persecution of Christians in Seattle. So this has rapidly become a problem uh that has now escalated to murder. Now I'll state right up front that the backstory for this uh situation in Seattle would take hours to explain, but the short version of the story is that pretty much anything to do with Christianity is very much demonized in Seattle. Uh Seattle is very anti-Christian from the city uh city officials to the police. It's it's very much an anti-Christian place, right? Uh and there are enclaves around the around the city where it's just a dystopia. There's no other way to to describe it. Ever since Antifa was able to gain a foothold throughout the city during the the CHAZ era, the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, things have just kind of not gotten any better. and the Pursuit Northwest Church, they have become kind of well known for being more outspoken against things like transgenderism and against abortions and things like that. And of course, being anti- those things in Seattle, the the sort of mecca for that kind of behavior, you're going to get a lot of haters and that's kind of been the way that things go. However, now this has progressed to murder. So there was an event, a church event, I think it was a barbecue or something that was being held at one of the facilities there just to the north of the University of Washington and there was a deliberate ambush. So someone was sitting in a car parallel parked on the street and that opened fire uh on Christians who were trying to walk down the street to go to the church event. So this was most certainly an ambush of uh Christians trying to attend a church event. even the Seattle Police Department, uh, which has been very anti-Christian this entire time, uh, even they had to admit that this was going on. So, yeah, it's, uh, it's not a good situation and, uh, there there doesn't really appear to be any end in sight when it comes to the actual, you know, beating and now killing of Christians in Seattle. There's been no federal interest in investigating any of this stuff. So, yeah, that's the situation as it stands. Uh, I am doing my own investigation uh, into a lot of this, so sorry to not have too much detail. uh to sink our teeth into at the moment. A lot of this is firsthand research on my own part and the bottom line is that it's very risky. Uh this church will continue to be targeted and since there has been a successful murder at this church, there will be more. I guarantee it. Uh the Seattle Police Department is not interested in protecting this church. It is a very high-risk environment. Uh just looking and doing a very rudimentary clicking around a Google Earth train analysis of what's going on here. This is a very high-risisk situation. uh and I very much hope and pray that people can stay safe in this region. But from a threat analysis perspective, this is a very very very dangerous situation. So prepare accordingly. Definitely be aware of this and most certainly be aware of this if you are also in a different city that has uh that is very much hosted to far-left extremist militant, especially armed militant activity. This has become a huge thing throughout the Northeast and even the Midwest. And the targeting of churches is is something that the United States, the feds are not interested in. They just do not care. Uh they care more about, you know, mean things being said at universities than actual people being killed in the street uh openly and in broad daylight kind of thing. So, I don't want to harp on this too much. Actually, you know what? That's a lie. I do want to harp on this quite a lot. I want to shout about this until I'm blue in the face because personally, this whole thing makes me quite angry in many different ways. And I think that personally, we should make criminals afraid again. Yeah, I know. I know we can have a longer discussion on what that actually means and what that looks like in practice over time. But you know what? If we cannot muster up just half an ounce of righteous anger just purely for motivational reasons to get ourselves and others serious about stopping violent criminals, what are we doing here? So, that's kind of where I'm at personally with regards to the the products that I'm working on and my uh kind of mentality moving forward. I've had enough. I had enough years ago and uh we're going to start doing what we can to to kind of push back on this because societal change is the first step and societal atmospherics are the first step, right? I don't know what it looks like in practice, but you know what? I know that the first step is for people to say enough. And we're going to have to have many little cases of that all around the United States. You know, enough. No, we are not accepting people just kicking in doors in Florida uh for no reason because they say it's a quote unquote prank. No, we're not doing that anymore. Christians having to arm themselves for battle like they're going to walk through the green zone in Baghdad just so they can go to church on Sunday. Yeah. No, we're not going to accept that any longer. I'm going to do what I can to uh figure out some solutions moving forward. But for right now, the best thing that I can do is encourage everyone to just get fed up with this. We should not have to live like this and we're going to uh figure out ways of of making sure that we're going to change society for the better because this is unacceptable. It has been unacceptable since before I even started this whole project. But the average American experience in this country has become increasingly more unacceptable regardless of who's in power. And we're going to do what we can to change that. So, first step is knowledge, understanding the threat, understanding the risks, and being prepared for that. That's a crucial first step. And uh we'll figure out the steps two through a million u in due time. But we've got to start somewhere. And I know we've already started this. People have been working on this forever, but I've honestly recently just hit a recent bout of I'm fed up with this. Yeah. So, I'm going to have to uh reignite my own efforts to do what I can at least in the in the information space so that people are at bare minimum aware and then then maybe they can use some of my products to help them out. So, but anyway, enough on that. We'll do the best we can. It's not a hopeless situation at all. We definitely have the ability to affect change and uh change for the better and we'll do what we can, especially considering what's about to come down the pipeline which is uh appeared in Western Europe and that is censorship or the lack of privacy or both. uh it's two separate issues that are really kind of morphing into one. So, like I've been writing about for a few days now, the uh online safety act in the United Kingdom is starting to grow in scope and size. There's been a lot of talk back and forth, not a lot of solid information either way. Uh but there's been talk of banning VPNs or restricting them or regulating them in some way. There's been talk of other kinds of censorship efforts. and of course other nations throughout Western Europe immediately picked up on the idea of the OSA and uh they're trying to implement the same thing in their countries because anytime a uh means of controlling the population comes out and other nations see it uh it immediately spreads like wildfire. So Western Europe's kind of on fire with regards to privacy and data concerns and it all just kind of appeared out of nowhere, right? It's just it just appeared out of nowhere that we're now back to 2019 2020 levels of internet censorship, right? kind of interesting how that just appears out of nowhere. And just to take the tiniest peak uh down a very deep rabbit hole to maybe explain or I don't know add a little bit more context is the canary in the coal mine that is the video game community. I know that this is something that's not in my wheelhouse at all, but I do want to mention it because I think it's interesting. For those who are unaware, and as strange as it may be, it turns out that over the past few years, video game culture, the video game community has really been instrumental in being the canary in the coal mine for world events, which is interesting. We've got everything from Gamergate to the whole GameStop financial thing. Um, you don't tend to think about it, but the world of video games is a very, very expensive enterprise. It's uh what it's one of the ways that we can sort of understand what a lot of younger people are thinking these days through video games, through how things do financially, what games are popular, things like that. Uh there's a lot more to it than that, especially when it comes to like the culture and uh the development with a lot of these companies. It's mostly centered around the the financial companies that are involved in making video games and things like that. And I wanted to mention this in the context of the UK online safety act because I think the two are related and I think they're going to be merging together. So a few days ago there was a fairly big scandal when one of the main uh merchants for video games, the Valve Corporation, which owns Steam, the platform where most I would say most at least definitely most PC games are being bought and sold. You know, we're talking very large corporation here. uh they suddenly delisted a lot of adult games, a lot of um you know not safe for work video games. Now my personal feelings on that kind of filth and degeneracy aside, what happened next was quite interesting. So people noticed a lot of these games disappeared from the marketplace, right, from the store. So they asked questions like what happened here? And Valve, the owner of the store, said it was Mastercard. Mastercard says, uh even though these games are perfectly legal to own, they're not like illegal content. Mastercard says, "We don't like that for our advertisers. So, you must delist all these games from your store." So, this little spat got absolutely zero traction uh when it came out because honestly, we're talking about a very small population that's affected uh by this sort of thing. And because we're talking about largely degenerate kinds of content, nobody really cared, right? You know, nobody normal cared at least. But, interestingly enough, in the context of the online safety act, we have been given a very clear lens through which to view the master plan that's going forward. So, I would be willing to bet that the Online Safety Act, because that act is trying to market and bill itself as being a well, let's protect the children from from adult content online sort of thing, but it was immediately used to crack down on on political disscent because that's the flavor that they're trying to to go for with this. My bet is that there's now going to be a financial aspect to this as well as pointed out by many articles that were written a couple of days ago which talk about Visa and Mastercard being the enforcement arms for the online safety act more or less in effect not not officially but you see how this is now a financial thing. So, this is why this is kind of interesting because uh something that personally most people I don't think would care about. Some little really niche problem within the video game community kind of gave us a very inside view as to what the next totalitarian step was going to be. And in this case, it appears to be finance. That appears to be the next line of effort. So, all right, you got to show your passport to view Wikipedia. But if we determine that you looked at the wrong thing on Wikipedia, there's your bank account locked, right? Or even better than that, if you're an author who writes an article that has say something against the British government in it and you're trying to get paid for making that article, well, Visa and Mastercard shut down the transaction. See? So, we see how this is kind of a very, very easy connect the dots puzzle, right? You go from one to two to three very quickly and very easily. And the video game community, the scandals with Steam that nobody cared about, gave us a pretty good inside view to that before the plan came to light. So, I thought that was kind of interesting. It's maybe not directly related, but it just it does go to show how you have to kind of think outside the box when it comes to a lot of this stuff. For instance, children getting around the online safety act. Uh they figured out that there's like five or six video games uh that will allow you to, you know, manipulate the character in such a way like in the settings menus or uh in some kind of photo mode or whatever uh to where you can very easily bypass all of the face checks and ID scans and things like that. So, that's pretty interesting. Uh, I think that ignoring what's going on in the video game realm is probably not a wise idea when it comes to censorship because they've proven time and time again that, you know, things that happen in this realm, even though, you know, most people might now want to care about it, uh, things that happen in this realm are very interesting for providing indications and warnings for things like government totalitarianism. So anyway, I thought that was kind of interesting and a good way to kind of wrap things up because it seems like we're returning to form in many ways with regards to very brutal crimes uh picking up uh seemingly out of nowhere, censorship efforts coming out of nowhere and very much a two-tiered policing system being implemented here in the United States as well. So most certainly something to keep us on our toes for the next few years. And with that, that's pretty much all I have for today. So let's roll through the intercepted ghost reports for this week. And hopefully hopefully may maybe we're uh seeing the importance of uh of radio and uh maybe not the exact tools that we have but the general idea of being able to communicate with one another in such a way that it's very very hard to shut down. Right? Because this week we can see at least someone was talking about the uh immigrant who was uh rolled up in Maine for uh being a visa overstay. If you were to talk about a similar situation like that in the United Kingdom, your account would probably be locked or you wouldn't be able to talk about that sort of thing. But with radio, you can. So, it's not completely censorship resistant. It's not completely censorship proof, but it's a lot harder to jam a radio signal than it is to call up Twitter and say, "Delete your account." Right? That's it's a lot easier when you're on the internet. But if you're off the internet, if you're just using radio stuff, it's pretty hard to censor. So, so anyway, hopefully we can improve this uh over time and make it better and learn how to do it and continue to do good things and share good information. get started moving quickly through the weather we can see that winter weather is definitely a factor for most of the united states as one might expect this time of year but this combined with a lot of the low-level clouds that we're going to be seeing in some parts of the country up near the northern border along with the very dark nights we're only at a 28 illumination level and the moon is going to be setting at 2 32 in the afternoon so it makes for some pretty dark nights moving forward and we can see here on our surface winds chart that we have lots of winter weather advisories in the northern areas so let's move on to no tams really nothing particularly special there is a presidential one for minneapolis but by the time this briefing goes out it will be expired it's just uh biden is taking a visit to minnesota to talk about infrastructure something like that it doesn't really matter for no tams i just wanted to point that out because that's really the only one that there is of note moving into our civil unrest forecast uh really at this point this slide is becoming a kind of a dated item because really we're seeing violence and just general crime and looting and things like that in most major u.s cities on things like weekends or whenever there's some kind of policing action even if it's not anything that's high profile we see random things happen like that and especially the states which have basically legalized shoplifting this is a huge thing so it's just become a daily a thing of a facet of daily life for a lot of people in most major cities but really we're not tracking any huge major events that are either planned or really stuff that we can't really predict with any reliability at least we can't so yeah there's really not much to say on the civil unrest forecast other than to say that most american cities are not doing super hot right now so let's move on to logistics so for logistics really not a whole lot of updates there are really no major changes from the last brief however there are some changes on the national level shortages so moving forward into this kind of new slide we've set up here there are two things to note one is ammonia so fertilizer shortages continue to be a huge problem globally this is not just the united states united states is actually doing not so bad when compared to the rest of the world when it comes to fertilizer shortages but the united states is most likely going to start feeling the shortages of ammonia uh pretty soon because in europe uh the price of ammonia is already up 300 since january so again inflation and just high prices skyrocketing globally on pretty much everything are are definitely playing a factor here but the production of ammonia the raw materials needed to produce it the agriculture that's also needed to produce it that's a huge huge thing that drives prices up and then also switching gears quite significantly there is also a maple syrup shortage so this is kind of a weird one the quebec maple syrup producers organization is releasing over 50 million pounds of maple syrup from their strategic reserves which is a headline that i wish i was making up but interestingly enough the canadian maple syrup market operates much like opec in that they have very specific production and distribution timelines to keep the international price of maple syrup stable like this is a very very much a precious commodity for most of the world so they uh they have very much an opec like uh organization and uh earlier this year the market experienced a pretty big hiccup in the weather um it's just a growing season the harvest season for really maple syrup was not super great this spring which reduced production and this has resulted in roughly half of canada's strategic maple syrup reserve being released to keep prices stable so we're really not sure how this is going to affect things but if you like genuine maple syrup you might notice that it's kind of hard to find in the grocery stores although they're you know releasing the strategic reserves so i guess we'll figure out how that plays into it i just thought that was kind of interesting uh when we get to uh some of the critical infrastructure concerns uh for this brief so let's go ahead and jump into the mandate updates uh this is just kind of a quick heads up as to the situation with the mandates right so as many of you already know the white house has announced a new wave of authoritarianism in the form of yet another mandate uh so we've already talked about these other two right here uh these two mandates previously but we now have a new one um this is uh this is the the mandate that just came out the gist of which is that every truck driver that crosses a u.s land border will have to be jabbed no exceptions now i still keep that in heavy air quotes because as is a classic biden tactic going back to his very first years in the senate nothing is in writing just yet um you know at least not yet right so we don't really know how this will work out because again this is not not in writing now even the casual observer can clearly see that biden's tyrannical overreaches have been halted by many courts at this point and this mandate would certainly fall under the category of a court saying not to do something and biden or the white house is going against the court like it's pretty clear at this point that the biden regime while actually very hesitant to actually give any opposition room to stand on it's also clear that the regime's propaganda and coercion tactics are waning and the biden regime has made it quite clear that they will not hesitate to use force when that propaganda becomes less effective so like i mentioned there's nothing in writing with this there's there's no executive action on this osha is basically in the doghouse right now with the federal courts because they're the ones who are taking the heat for biden's uh tyrannical mandates but when it comes to like what this actually means nobody really knows because this is a pretty classic tactic biden knows or the regime i guess collectively knows that whenever he does something tactile like an executive order this can easily be immediately stopped by a court but if he or the other people that are running or influencing things doesn't put anything in writing if he puts out a press release or or hops on twitter and just signals to the media what what the white house's interests are well that can become a self-fulfilling tyranny machine right there which is exactly what happened with the osha mandates right these ones that are on the slide already right biden didn't actually put anything in writing for months after mandating the jab for companies with over 100 employees and yet even though he didn't put anything in writing these companies and entities went out of their way to follow a law that didn't even exist yet so and arguably doesn't even exist to this day because it's not a law right so employees get fired because the company is following an executive order that didn't even exist yet one of biden's well-known tricks and a trick that this regime uses first this is like their primary weapon right is just throwing out a statement and seeing what people will do they just throw out these mandates and see what sticks if the end result is people following it biden gets a freebie he gets people to do what the regime says he gets people to do what he says and at the same time no court can come after him because he didn't put anything in writing so just like we talk about all the time a lot of people these days are absolutely salivating at the prospect of using the we were just following orders excuse that just seems to be the case at least from what what we think it's quite literally the milgram experiment all over again except there's a big difference that the participants fully know about all the details of the experiment and they are actively wanting to participate in it and to continue the analogy it's almost like a lot of people have the attitude of you know hey mr lab coat man come back in here and sort of intimidate me a little bit so that i can have an excuse to flip this last switch it's like people are begging just to flip that last switch which is kind of scary but i say all of this to hopefully explain how we here look at a lot of these mandates press releases executive orders but whatever and what all of this means for the nature of well authority in general i guess but really this is just an important thing to think about when it comes to trying to figure out a livelihood that is more resistant to the crazy stuff that we're dealing with these days so i just wanted to kind of talk about that for a minute because it requires a lot it's not just as simple as is this constitutional or not is this legal or not is this a law or not it's not that simple because we're starting to again like i've mentioned many times before we're examining the nature of what a law actually is we're examining the nature of what an executive order actually is or what a court order actually is and yeah sure it's dangerous but hey look we're having to deal with this on a daily basis so i thought i'd kind of take that digression to help kind of explain what we're the mindset that we're in when it comes to this stuff so with that out of the way let's talk about some critical infrastructure concerns and right up front right up top there is the trucking mandates right just like i mentioned how are how is the trucking industry how are most truckers going to respond to this mandate well i think it's quite clear the ceo of the american trucking association has stated that their internal polling has indicated that that uh over 37 percent of all truckers in the united states at least in their association uh are saying not only not quote not no but hell no to these mandates so yeah that kind of makes sense right like you know we here we're here not in the trucking industry but look like we've got family and friends and things like that that work in logistics and hey look it's it's quite clear that uh the power of trucking cannot be understated like the the people look down on that job a lot but hey look we're finding out just how much power your average trucker has and it's quite significant and it's going to be interesting to see how much that affects things because it's we're in this grand game of chicken when it comes to these mandates and quite clearly it's becoming a lot more clear that the federal government thinks that that like the truckers the doctors the military service members they think that the people that they command are going to blink first and that could not be further from the truth doctors and pilots and service members are willing to to all end their careers before they comply with these mandates and we're of course we're not talking about most we're not talking about most people but hey we're we're seeing levels of resistance that i will admit surprise me i thought i would never have thought that this many people uh would have resisted things even just now right and the resistance is growing every day so i think i thought that was an interesting thing to note when it comes to critical infrastructure basically hey be prepared for trucking shortages to get worse and then number two they're moving on to uh the energy sector so biden is or at least the regime has stated that they're going to release 50 million barrels uh from the strategic petroleum reserve to combat the high gas prices and the interesting thing is is that this makes absolutely no sense because at the same time uh the binding regime has is begging begging opec to increase production which makes no sense whatsoever because if the united states is going to flood the market with oil then why would opec increase production they're going to cut production so that so that the price of gasoline doesn't go down to two cents a you know gallon and so that they will have actually some profit because it's is people and people like to look at these big oil companies and say oh they're just you know evil corporations right and you can make that case in a lot of different areas but the interesting thing is is that when you have price uh price manipulation or or the market saturation when it comes to oil change so significantly like if we were to drop uh the price of oil in half because gas is what like double what it used to be it's like gosh what four or five gallons in some parts of the some parts of the country that we're in and nine dollars a gallon in california and places like that so if you were to drop that gasoline if you were to flood the market with petroleum and drop that gasoline down to 50 cents a gallon people would probably be generally happy but that would decimate the oil industry because what the oil industry is going to do is lay off everyone and they're going to not have the production capability so you have a short period of time where your gas prices are low but then the gas prices skyrocket because you've messed with the system too much too quickly and that's what opec is is looking at biden like like he's the slow kid in class opec is like cracking jokes about this at this point like hey dude what are you doing even russia is like yeah man we're gonna cut production like why are you really why are you releasing strategic petroleum reserves like you could have just asked us to increase production um it's almost like opaque is cracking jokes like hey you want more oil pump it yourself because you're the one who cut cut production in the united states like we were energy independent for so long like why are you looking to opec to to fix the problem so this is kind of one of those things that we could talk about forever when it comes to energy sector but really the interesting side note now specifically when it comes to the relationship between the biden regime and the energy sector is this uh i i know that the fashionable thing to do is just bash biden right that's just that's just a popular opinion these days and i get it i really do there's plenty of justification for that but at the same time in most cases we can't just say well biden's dumb or he's mentally incompetent we can't just say that and call it a day sure sure that you can argue that these things are true but you know after all biden does have a very long reputation in the senate for stuff like this he's not he's not known in the senate before he became vice president he was not known for being a smart man but generally speaking the biden regime has done some pretty smart stuff i mean smart if you're trying to be a dictator but there are definitely lots of indicators that show that at least some kind of thought process is going on but all this being said to me the biden regime's actions in the energy sector just don't make very much sense to me um i just can't figure out the angle you can take all the usual talking points and make an argument like yeah you sure you can do that like biden is trying to bankrupt the petroleum industry to appeal to the hippies and yuppies and the democratic party's base which makes honestly that even that argument makes no sense to me because the energy sector makes life possible and they have a lot of power like a huge amount of power whereas the base that biden would be appealing to can't really do anything for him and then things get even more complex like you start talking international diplomacy and things like that which you know again truthfully is not pride and strong suit it just it's just not uh things get really complicated i generally think that on issues like this it's pretty clear that this is not so much of a political thing like it's not left versus right when it comes to the higher echelons of national energy policy it's just not uh it's factions right it's this company against that company it's these cronies over here versus those cronies over there it's it's favors in retirement plans versus other people's favors and retirement plans like that's just the way politics works at the highest echelons in general and especially when it comes to national level energy stuff but i can't figure out for the life of me why biden if he wanted to be a dictator which he clearly does or at least the regime collectively does right what does he why does he consistently stab the energy sector at every chance he gets i mean if it's to appease his political base well he can appease most voters with the klondike bar all i'm saying is that it seems like the intense targeting and alienation of a valuable wartime industry like the energy sector is not a good idea if biden wants to have control so all of this seems like a misstep on the regime's part or whoever is exerting influence on the white house over these issues again most people will just chalk this up to him being a crazy old man or a puppet for somebody else and that and that's probably partially true right but i just have a gut feeling that like something is not quite right with this especially with how specifically and fervently the energy sector is being targeted there are probably lots of different answers to this weird analytical note so i thought i would share that thought lay everything out on the table in the event that someone else out there has been kind of casually thinking the same thing right i'm sure if i dedicated you know a few days to this i could probably figure out what the angle is but you know i just don't have the time to figure out what the white house is doing on you know when it comes to the energy sector and who knows who and all that kind of stuff so i just thought it was kind of interesting and hopefully somebody else out there is thinking kind of along the same lines because i think it's kind of odd there's something going on there that's a little weird and i haven't haven't been able to quite figure out why why the hatred so much but anyway let's move on to significant governmental actions so as everyone's probably heard by now there is a new variant of the uh the virus out there that cannot be named right uh i think the most interesting part which is um being uh sort of uh joked about all over the internet is that the who and their naming convention skipped over the letter of the alpha the greek alphabet that they used that as the naming convention to avoid offending the chinese communist party because one letter of the greek alphabet actually just so happens to be the first name of their dear leader so i thought that was kind of interesting um it's very very interesting honestly and it kind of points as to what the who's kind of mentality is there's really not much intel value there other than i think it was interesting uh but yeah it just kind of proves to chose to go that the who clearly is making political decisions and has been for probably ever honestly moving on to number two there the uh case for bynan's nominee for the office of comptroller not looking so good for for that nomination process uh solo omrova recently had a background check done on her and somebody figured out that she was actually arrested back in 1995 for shoplifting um again not a really huge uh intel value here i just thought that there i have not seen anything quite as ironic and honestly tragically poetic than biden's economics nominee being charged with theft i just thought that was kind of hilarious and and sad at the same time so i thought i would share that as well but moving on to kind of number three and four there which are kind of linked to sort of the same idea is that texas is not doing super great right now when it comes to their battle against crt so so one school board in texas decided to use their own law enforcement agents the basically school resource officers to go and arrest parents at their homes and charging them with disorderly conduct with the intent to disrupt a public meeting so yeah again this is not surprising for anyone in the who's got skin in the game or anyone who's just kind of casually observing this this is a a a pretty fierce fight uh like if we look at all of the sectors in which um this kind of crt woke stuff whatever you want to call it a communist takeover like look at where it's at like is it in look at what industries it's at it's it's really in education right we've known that that uh universities have been kind of havens for this kind of stuff uh for a long time um but like looking at crt being taught to like preschoolers that's kind of uh that's kind of not good at least in our opinion and a lot of people are kind of figuring that out and it's very very important um to kind of uh propaganda like just propping into 101 well what do we call it now information operations right we kind of church it up a little bit to make it not sound as bad but if you're trying to conduct intelligence operations or information operations against the population if you're trying to topple a government you really need to get the kids you need to get them young you need to get them questioning things very very early and questioning the things that you want them to question and thinking the things that you want them to think so again this is very interesting from a doctrinal standpoint we can get way down in the weeds with it i guess someday but i thought it's kind of interesting that ordinary parents are starting to look at what their kids are bringing home for homework and they're it's they're starting to figure this stuff out like hey yeah yeah we've been kind of talking about stuff for a while and uh it's good you're on board but hey this is this has been going on for a while um you know we're also seeing things like point number four there we're starting to see these um racial equity board members uh doxing parents who are suing to kind of stop this crt training you know the fact that a school has a racial equity board what like what there are so many things that like if you if you if you take a few classes or if you study like the history of the soviet union quite quite significantly particularly when it comes to other maybe not traditionally russian countries but other countries that kind of like vietnam is a great example china is another good example if you start studying this stuff and starting to realize how communism kind of spread its you know its tentacles everywhere and how it got kind of started in some of these areas it's very fascinating because you start seeing the sort of political commissars come out right they all have different names right but you start seeing these political organizations come up and and kind of eclipse the ordinary things like we've all heard of school boards right like school boards have been around forever right but you know these racial equity boards right these um what do they call it uh racial trauma advocates like what what is this you know so it has that sort of i'm not saying there's a direct link but it's pretty clear that there's a flavor of political commissar type behavior in a lot of our educational systems and texas is finding that out the hard way right now or at least texas parents are so you know if you're this is not something that's unique to texas of course this is happening in the school that's like two miles from my house so it's quite clear that this is a nationwide problem but i do think that in in digressing on this topic yet again i think that it's interesting to kind of understand a lot of the history that goes into this kind of stuff because again from a doctrinal's perspective from an information operations perspective it's utterly important to understand this stuff then moving on to number five they're just kind of a heads up uh just a reminder that the just lane maxwell trial is currently underway there's no media coverage of it and this is going to be most people kind of know how this is going to turn out but i just wanted to point out that that it's going on and the mainstream media is trying to bury this quite harshly just like they're trying to bury the story of the uh uh the terror attack that occurred at the uh christmas parade right so um that's it's it's like tis the season for censorship i guess and kind of hiding uh terrorist attacks and things like that so yeah i just wanted to point that out that that did happen the met trial is underway uh and i guess we'll have to see how it works out there's really nothing more to add on that and before we move on i wanted to talk about this again because i guess today is kind of a blend of an intel update and a sort of podcast about deeper issues than just a standard you know intel update but i thought this was interesting and this is something that has kind of uh depending on what parts the internet you go on to this is kind of blowing up other places are not talking about it at all but this specif specific wikipedia article is drawing a lot of attention and this is the article for the mass killings under communist regimes now the interesting part is that if you can quite clearly see that this article is being considered for deletion in accordance with wikipedia's deletion policy so a lot of um i would say more conservative uh sources are trying to are citing this somewhat correctly that wikipedia is trying to censor uh the the the deaths that have been caused by communism essentially that wikipedia is trying to rewrite history um by allowing this article to be uh kind of gone you know disappeared right and okay that's interesting enough as is and we can talk about that you know endlessly right but this is the interesting part to me so if you go and you look right here it says this article has multiple issues please help improve it or discuss these issues on the talk page so if you click that link and go to the talk page this is the page that comes up and this is the part that's fascinating wikipedia is tracking the number of media organizations that cover this article this is interesting like so what this is like i don't man this is crazy right this is the interesting part to me not the fact that wikipedia wants to delete articles wikipedia deletes articles all the time some rightfully so because they're dumb pages but like arguably like this is the interesting part to me um like we can make the the argument that okay the page might not have been the best source of research like it's wikipedia right so it's not exactly a a scholarly source right but the interesting thing is that wikipedia is not only tracking this right they're also they literally are tracking these reddit pages that are are bringing in high traffic uh a lot of traffic from these different websites that's fascinating to me not only is wikipedia aware that an article is being tracked by media organizations but also they're tracking the websites that are talking about a wikipedia article man if that is not just a poetic like note again tragically ironic note considering the the topic considering that this is about communism and stuff like that holy cow i thought that was insane um so again not really a whole lot of like intel value i guess other than just to sort of show man how far this stuff goes um and i thought that was quite interesting so i again thought i would i would talk about it some so let's move on to another interesting slide which is developing technologies so they're really only three items of note and all three are kind of military the first one there is france's new camouflage system so this is called the adaptive multi-spectral camouflage system aka the salamander camouflage don't know why they didn't call it chameleon camouflage missed opportunity there i guess but this is supposed to be debuted actually today or tomorrow maybe france has a national like once a year defense trade show and uh they're supposed to be able they're supposed to be debuting it so i really all we have is this old video of it um but you can see it's kind of interesting us has obviously been working on this kind of technology for a while as well i think bae systems has also got something lockheed has got something similar to this raytheon has got something i think most defense contractors have some kind of technology they're working on this kind of cloaking stuff the stuff the us is doing is is pretty cool um but yeah this is the the reason that i wanted to talk about it is that this is supposed to be fully motion capable uh by now so i don't know if that's true or not i know that based on the calendar timeline and the kind of excitement that there's been along in the french military communities as you know this might actually be capable for them now who knows uh but moving on to the interesting ones which are number two and three and they both have to do with russian tanks so these videos and pictures started showing up a few days ago maybe maybe a couple weeks ago of russian tanks in the ukraine area really the the don bass and donetsk uh fighting areas right um with the russian build up there they're starting we're starting to see these interesting modifications being done and this is something that's not particularly new but the implementation is new if it makes sense so these cages uh these cages on top of the turret there like these those aren't particularly new uh the or at least the idea isn't new these are used to protect against things like shaped projectiles rpgs really any kind of shaped projectile um that's what it's for but usually it's on the side of the front of the tank right to prevent a side on you know rpg from hitting the side like every you know veteran in the us military has seen these like this is just kind of a thing that's standardized um really this goes back to world war ii like the the you know the german panzers had them t-34s had them uh or some some kind of uh shaped projectile disruption tool right it says cages aren't new what's interesting is that they're on top of the turret and they're not they're nowhere else so a lot of analysts are thinking that really what these are being used for on the tops of tanks and on the turrets are to prevent and disrupt the effectiveness of munitions like mortars and grenades that are dropped by drones like these small like dji drones this is interesting this is a new implementation of such technology now a lot of people i should point out that a lot of people think that these uh cages on the tops of turrets kind of angled like that are to disrupt or at least maybe serve as kind of like a hail mary prevention against something like a javelin and that kind of makes sense but i i don't know uh it that could be just a placebo i can't imagine that stopping or even reducing the effectiveness of a freaking javelin but you never know who knows it might just be uh i mean the russians are really good deception too right they might put 200 with a scrap steel on top of a tank to make analysts like me think about it for a while it could be that i don't really know but it seems to be very interesting and we've seen a lot a lot of use of these small uas platforms that are dropping very small mortars but they're being devastatingly effective i can't really think of any other use for these kinds of cages that are on tops of turrets other than okay maybe some built up areas but i mean doughnuts can really i mean ukraine has you know a lot of christiana houses that are like what six stories tall or five stories in the ground floor that makes sense you know if you're in an urban built up area the top of the tank is very vulnerable because the armor is not as thick as on the front or the sides or even the rear right but at the same time like i don't know it just seems like it's meant to prevent against uh small uas attacks so i mean i guess we'll have to see we'll have to see if once these go into combat service maybe get some battle damage on them we can kind of understand what the deal is with these and then finally the the third point here which is probably why i'm going to make a fool out of myself but i was genuinely confused with this is and a few other people who are in the game a few other analysts here in the shop as well uh are confused by this and this is a something that appears to be a thermal emitter being observed on a lot of russian tanks so this image hopefully shows a little bit more clear what i'm talking about when it comes to this thermal emission device and this is kind of a weird thing so so bear with me and this image is also confusing but um because we have three t-72s right that are driving uh towards the camera but the turrets for the t-70s are turned to the rear uh so that's why it looks kind of odd uh you might have trouble recognizing these but you're definitely looking you can see the driver's periscope right there the normal distinctive uh lights and weld points and things like that that you can use to to figure out if this is a t-72 or a t-80 or t-90 it looks pretty much like a t-72 to me just with the turrets turned to the rear to show us this weird-looking snorkel device so there's kind of here's the gist of what this might be so a lot of people think that this is just a standard um snorkel for like an engine air intake right uh and it is uh obviously mounted to the turret so that you don't hit it when you traverse the turret around but it's turned sideways right so instead of uh being able to allow the tank to drive across a river or something like that or traverse a river right instead of being able to do that it's actually holding a thermal emission device and what the the theory at least on this is that it holds it serves as kind of like a little arm as a support to hold out a really hot uh source of heat right and the goal or at least the theory is that the russians might be doing this as as sort of like a field expedient way of putting a hot source of heat outside of the tank so that if you had some kind of heat seeking missile it would zoom right past the tank's turret zoom right past the hull of the tank and explode harmlessly behind the tank because it's trying to go for this hot source of heat rather than the exhaust that it that normally would uh would be the target of a heat-seeking missile now i'm not a tank guy so i might be all wrong about this i'm sure some cav dudes are laughing their butts off because it's probably quite simple it's probably a simple solution like just a tank snorkel or something they've got folded down for uh transport who knows right i'm not a tank guy but this is the these images particularly this image here is uh is getting a lot of traction in kind of the ocean world as to like what does this thing do because it doesn't appear to be a standard snorkel it appears to be something else so uh it's very interesting i don't know what this does i think that it's an interesting interesting concept i can't imagine it working very well but i do find it to be very very interesting that we're starting to see a lot of this stuff come out as russia continues their build up in the ukrainian region so very interesting stuff um hopefully we'll get some more pictures of this and be able to talk about it a lot more but i thought it was kind of interesting and i guess we'll have to see what see how it goes and see what this thing actually is because i'm you know it's pretty interesting so let's go ahead and move on to the national guard stuff right so in the northeast really not a whole lot going on uh really the new york national guard is still using um uh both medical personnel and non-medical personnel and to uh supplement all the people that have been fired from hospitals in the new york city area so we'll hopefully get some more information on that but that just appears to be continuing moving down southeast there's really only one update and that is to do with kentucky so this is probably outdated at this point even though kentucky's uh you know national guard agent general and paos have stated that you know they're still doing the medical mission um this doesn't appear to be accurate because several battalions of the 149th meb specifically uh are currently in the stages of mobilizing for a pretty big deployment to the horn of africa to support that mission so based on the pre-deployment workups we've been observing for the past couple of weeks and months i guess around the state of kentucky it's a pretty big deployment so the number of people that are stuck helping with the domestic medical mission has got to be pretty low if they're they might be leaving behind some some support personnel who knows i just wanted to point that out that there's probably not a big mission in kentucky anymore everywhere else the mission remains the same really no major changes either way so we're just going to kind of assume that the mission is continuing with all these other places similar situation in wisconsin uh we're assuming that uh the national guard since we haven't really seen much about the national guard being either they were stood up for the whole written house trial thing and were there we really don't know if they're still around we don't know how many uh units have been kind of stood up for that security role type stuff so we're just going to assume that they're kind of still hanging out in the area because you know the situation in wisconsin is still pretty dynamic so i don't know we'll probably keep an eye on that for a while um the concern with ohio national guard potentially using national guard members as school drivers that concern is kind of waning because we're really it's it was probably just a political threat in the beginning but you never really know so we were tracking that and then the minnesota deployment continues as well down south of the border a lot of deployments uh by the texas national guard the texas guard and a lot of other states national guards who have sent troops down to the southern border uh that situation is pretty much status quo it's a status quo in the in the in that it's getting worse every day uh with regards to the violence and the number of people and the situations that you that are happening right it's just kind of deteriorating it's not deteriorating at an abysmal rate but it is uh concerned right so i just wanted to point that out that we're probably likely to see a lot more uh forces uh move into the area as the winter sets in and then that was no real major change the oregon national guard mission is probably going to wind to a close here pretty soon just because politicians are getting involved but other than that not really a whole uh not a whole lot going on and moving on to the mask mandates so really no no major change to this um again the situation in tennessee is kind of fluid uh we're still trying to kind of figure out what's going on like did the judge block this or did a judge not block it like what's the deal we're still going to keep tennessee red because it appears that most of the school districts or at least the biggest ones are requiring masks for school especially with this new freaking hype over this new variant right so that's that's going to be a thing we're expecting to see a lot more states probably locked down because of this um just for general reasons like this is you know a softball assessment you can see this coming a mile away right so not exactly a surprise to anyone but moving forward to the actual jab mandates we're not really seeing anybody trying to push this super hard we're seeing a couple of states even states that we were expecting to have jab mandates they're kind of backing off now because they've seen the resistance in california and people are finding out that hey you can't propagandize and pump propaganda into a child's head if a parent decides to homeschool them right and they they kind of need to to work both sides of the aisle with that if they want to keep these kids in school right so it's a huge thing it's really an emotional topic for a lot of people but we're of course continuing to keep an eye on the school situation and figure out what's going on there and then overall the resistance tracker is really unchanged not a whole lot going on um i should say there's a lot going on there but you know we're at 9000 rpms but we're in neutral right so there we're just kind of waiting for the courts to see what's going to happen with a lot of these states lawsuits and stuff like that a few states are probably it's going to be interesting to see what states do about these new mandates with trucking particularly states like texas a lot of a lot of trade comes comes through the land borders uh into texas from mexico so you know gonna be interesting to see how that how that works out but for now really not a whole lot of updates and then we do have an update to the mandate failure slide so just just to clarify a little bit this new slide is meant to track the companies and entities that have been forced to rescind their medical mandates due to people resisting right this is not a tracker of all of the companies that are openly and proudly resisting right those are everywhere at this point we just fill the slide up we're tracking the companies where the company itself was forced to make a decision uh to not push these mandates based on their workers resisting so all these companies wanted to push mandates right and or they did push mandates and their their employees stopped that and new to the list is disney so disney had a a jab mandate and which has since been rescinded so that's interesting um considering disney's man that's a whole rabbit hole i guess you could go down but um disney itself is a very interesting organization and the fact that they rescinded their jab mandate for their employees or at least they've appeared to this might just be a ruse and they're covertly um bringing it back in style who knows but i didn't want to highlight that because that seems to be kind of interesting so hopefully we'll have some more additions for this next brief but let's move on to international issues so wrapping things up here with international issues uh we have a lot of things to talk about this is doing kind of an injustice to not dedicate as much time to this but if you look at the list of countries on the left-hand side of the screen there i'll just list them off really quickly ireland italy greece the czech republic france the solomon islands niger slovakia australia and austria those countries aren't experiencing significant levels of resistance like we're talking like some of these countries is just open rebellion when it comes to the medical mandates that are just kind of sweeping the world at this point this is very interesting i think the two that are the most interesting to me are niger and the solomon islands because niger has had the french army deployed to quell the rebellion there and the same thing with the solomon islands with the australian military being sent in on that mission so you quite literally have empires going back to their colonies and policing up that actions there are obviously more countries more by the minute by the time this gets posted i'm sure we'll have a dozen more to add to this list but just note that even though a lot of the mainstream media sources are kind of burying this uh and not talking about it there is we're talking like arab spring level rebellion when it comes to the medical mandates in europe um in southeast asia in the pacific islands uh africa all these places right and then of course the rebellion here in the united states uh against these kind of tyrannical things so very interesting to follow uh i it's going to be it's going to be interesting to see how this all works out particularly in europe where they have a heavy-handed approach now when it comes to europe i will mention the polish situation with belarus so like i mentioned last time poland and belarus have got there's kind of a diplomatic spat going on so essentially the rundown of what that situation is this belarus is obviously a russian sort of proxy right they were the one of the last countries to leave the soviet union uh the president lukashenko is obviously one of the most infamous dictators in the world um and belarus is basically on um shares the border with poland poland is you know the gateway to nato right so uh what belarus has been doing allegedly um it's quite clear that's kind of obvious what they're doing belarus is taking migrants and immigrants from the middle east and transiting them to busing them to the border with poland and dumping them off in a lot of cases giving them weapons and telling them to go assault the polish border guards and so there have been a lot of clashes poland has strung miles and miles and miles of sea wire and razor wire because of this stuff and a lot of other european nations are starting to do that too so what i'm concerned about this is kind of a thing that i thought of the other day what i'm kind of concerned about is a sort of new form of berlin uh wall going up uh when it comes to immigration stuff in europe this is a serious deal in the united states we have to deal with immigration from mexico and central america south america it's a it's a little bit of a different story in europe i would argue that the story is completely different because you have uh migrants coming from the middle east mostly uh into europe into the schengen zone and the dynamic's different okay it's just it's hard to explain to an american audience but what is interesting is that we clearly have a sort of uh cold war relationship kind of starting back over this immigration stuff you've got you know your your old post soviet bloc countries kind of aligning with russia and russia is happy to let these migrants go through because it kind of ticks off nato and that's just kind of like their thing to needle with nato rights it's just kind of the status quo for the past you know 70 years uh and you've got countries like poland who are like hey you know we're putting up a fence uh you guys want in and then you know it's interesting i wonder i wonder how much uh of this immigration preparation and mobilizing militaries for immigration and threatening to invoke articles four and five of the nato charter i wonder how much of that is genuinely about immigration and i wonder how much of that is really just a pretext for getting something on the books and moving forces into the area to counter russia it would be great that would be a great thing to do if i were nato is to kind of say that hey yeah we're stringing this 800 mile minefield slash concertina wire to prevent some guy from baghdad to walk into poland and sounds like overkill to me in a lot of these cases so it's going to be interesting to see is immigration going to be a way for nato to quietly rearm itself um against a potential russian action uh some people would say no it's probably a naive thought honestly but because nato really wouldn't need a pretext to do any of that we've nato and russia and nato and the post post-soviet countries have gotten pretty good at uh figuring out what everybody's up to but i don't know i just thought it was interesting so i thought i'd share and then uh speaking of the middle east uh moving on to iran there the nuclear talks are uh failing as one might expect iran is just in the mood of do whatever they want um a lot of people ourselves included have made the argument that the united states is very diplomatically weak in the international arena and countries like iran they just they know this and they're just doing whatever the hell they want so iran is is like that north korea is the same way china is a little more complex but really iran sees that uh um we're not gonna do anything about their nuclear development so you know they're just gonna do it um and also turkey moving on to turkey is kind of an interesting thing they are dealing with an economic crisis like no other so currently they are dealing with currency devaluation uh some might call it a a currency crash right so the turkish lira which is their their currency is experiencing a 20 uh inflation rate um yeah so this is an interesting case to study because it's yet another classic example of how economics is pretty simple when you get past all the smoke and mirrors especially when it comes to inflation and turkey is finding out firsthand pretty quickly what happens when you keep interest rates artificially low for too long so yeah that's going to be pretty fascinating to to follow because hyperinflation is already setting in in turkey and this is not good for a nato member especially with all the impending conflicts around the world and the tension in europe right now as is and then finally talking about russia and ukraine uh honestly we should probably dedicate an entire freaking several hour series to the to this uh we've talked about ukraine in the past and how complex of a situation that is uh but currently russia has been uh there's a lot of activity so right now um there is a significant level of naval activity uh for instance russia has deployed uh the majority of her black sea uh submarine fleet um which is most uh most likely actually it's almost certainly in response to the united states sending in the arleigh burke herself ddg 51 to poke around in the very shallow and hard to hide in waters of the black sea so the us has for the past few months now i think had a destroyer hanging out in the black sea for a while it's just been kind of a constant rotation due to the ukrainian situation and stuff like that and i think actually the arleigh burke has has replaced the porter uh the uss porter if i if i remember correctly um but yeah the the russians have get their their it's you know cold war stuff at it

maps are some of the most important tools the analyst has in their toolbox yeah sure we've all heard about how important it is to have a map for Land Navigation or land nav but beyond that what's the big deal are there other reasons to have maps on hand let's find out besides the obvious navigational use the main use for maps in Warfare is to create what we call a common operational picture or cop these go by a few different names by service Branch but are all really the same kind of thing the cop is simply a large map that can clearly show what's going on throughout the battle space however depending on what the mission is a cop can be set up in many ways ATAC for instance is basically a cop a map with the ability to drop overlays and see where everyone is located on a common map we've all seen this in movies some very large map with little Flags or other icons designating military units and with an assortment of Staff constantly moving these pucks around with their most up-to-date positions this we call battle tracking and we'll dive into this a lot more later but for now battle tracking is keeping the map updated with the most recent positions of units enemy locations critical intelligence gathered during the mission and so on this is a very important aspect of warfare and one of the main functions of the Tactical operations center or talk in the old days these Maps were physical pieces of paper hung on a wall or spread out on a table with operations staff and Intel analysts using clear sheets of acetate plastic to draw critical information on maps this ancient method of battle tracking is still done today during training and actually during real world operations but mostly just to keep that skill alive in the event that fancy tools like ATAC and other battle tracking software is not an option in an increasingly hostile and electronic battle space a cop that is set up purely for intelligence purposes is usually called a sip or common intelligence picture sometimes you'll see this referred to as a sip cop right referencing the two main staff directorates that work in operation centers intelligence and operations but usually at say Battalion size units or lower everything is mostly clustered together on the same map Blue forces red forces ipb stuff like key terrain and such all of this is going to reside on the same map usually on the prepared citizen side of things the average person may not be capable of or even interested in setting up a full-blown talk and that's fine but you would be surprised the talk like capabilities you'll have by Simply Having a map for me I go overboard with maps because of my role as a prepared citizen so I have to be careful not to let my personal fascination with maps cloud my recommendations for everyone anyone with military experience will tell you that many commanders sometimes view maps as a status symbol in the U.S military at least the size of maps sand tables and terrain models is often dictated by one's rank or importance the generals get super big maps that fill an entire wall or a whole wall of plasma screen screens I've seen some general officers literally have a personal cartographer who prints out big maps for them of totally random places just so they can have a random map for a meeting now I certainly don't fancy myself as any sort of military commander I personally am just not cut out for leadership but I do not ascribe to the idea that the size of the map dictates its importance it's what's on the map that matters but anyway I find having many different types of maps quite handy so what maps are needed first up is a local land nav topographic map the old standby of the usual classic right you always need to have a topographic map of your area I think that by now this is a fairly standard expectation that goes without saying but I did want to mention it anyway I usually prefer a standard one to twenty four thousand scale USGS quad map of the area that I'm going to be moving through if I'm going a long way it's a bit more practical to use a larger scale so that you don't have to carry so many different maps with a one to twenty four thousand Scale map it's great for seeing maximum detail and operating in a very small area but I have many times walked right off the edge of the map which is sometimes not a fun experience whatever you choose having a topographic map for navigation is vital but we've heard all of this before right besides land nav what other kinds of maps are useful the other type of map that in some cases is even more important than a topographic map is a simple road map that's right the ordinary roadmap you get for free at Stateline rest stops at least here in the U.S as strange as it sounds ordinary road maps have throughout history become an indispensable tool of warfare from World Wars to the modern day simple tourist road maps have been used to plan very large-scale military operations one more interesting anecdote that illustrates this comes from the defense of Berlin during the final days of World War II as the Soviet Army Advanced across the Polish Countryside towards Berlin the Iraq sphere SS himself Heinrich Himmler decided that his Grand military expertise needed to be put to use in the Northeast as commander of the hastily formed Army group Vistula setting his command post aboard his personal luxury train he established one of the worst Army headquarters in history along a railroad sighting in Schneiderman Poland having been assigned to be himmler's chief operations officer Colonel Hans Georg Eismann arrived at the rather inept SS Commander's train with an air of nervousness upon his arrival his suspicions were instantly confirmed he immediately assessed the situation as rather desperate and the headquarters itself was only a shell of a military organization apart from himmler's complete ineptitude in all things military his command post was that in name only the lavish headquarters train was more vacation spot than headquarters as it only contained One telephone and only one map which eisenmann noted as being very out of date and not containing accurate information at all one can only imagine the moral laundry this presented here was a career military officer talking to one of the most infamous humans ever to have lived a man with extreme power who had done unspeakable things and he didn't even know what units he had under his command he had no idea of basic military unit sizes formations or anything even the lowest ranking Soldier would know a rather desperate situation indeed this was the headquarters of an entire Army group or at least it was supposed to be and the map situation was so desperate that Eisman had to use his driver's road map that he had used to navigate to this Command Post in the first place he literally had to go out to his car and get the map from the glove box though the history of this incident is not quite so clear it appears that for a Time the defense of Germany's Eastern flank was conducted by a colonel with a road map moving forward to present day another similar situation occurred within the U.S army during the U.S Invasion of Grenada a commonly told story is the case of military leadership ship planning operation urgent Theory using civilian road maps this was because Grenada was such a small nation of little military importance that when it became clear that the U.S would be using military force to invade the island nation military leaders were caught without adequate maps of the area understandably planning invasions involves an awful lot of people and there are almost never enough maps to go around for everyone this is the case even today I myself have helped plan military operations using old Soviet maps of an invasion long forgotten or even Garmin base camp or Google Earth even just a few years ago I myself was in a conflict Zone printing out homemade maps on an inkjet printer I ordered from Amazon it would be nice if we could all have nicely printed Maps but as always in war things rarely go to plan National Geographic Rand McNally and Michelin have been an unwitting member of many military intelligence briefings over the years as strange as it sounds ordinary tourist road maps have been and will continue to be vital for everything from road trips to planning invasions when it comes to specific road maps I personally like the more durable National Geographic adventure maps for the United States and Europe these are fairly cheap considering they're printed on a plasticized paper but if you want to reduce cost even further you can pick up your State's roadmap usually from visitor centers or rest areas for free these are usually much more up to date anyway as Most states come out with a new one every year but even if you do go the free map route I would strongly recommend picking up a regional map as well again these National Geographic adventure maps are divided up by region at least for the U.S with four of these you could cover the entire country at a scale that's small enough to read yet compact enough to carry I usually prefer standard maps that you can fold and put into a map case this also makes it easy to stuff a map into a bag and forget about it however the spiral bound road atlas is also a very important tool as well these are perhaps better are suited to remaining in a vehicle due to their size but since my own role is often in the information space I often find myself needing a fairly detailed map of rather random locations and a road atlas is great for that if you have the space to carry one I wouldn't want to backpack very far with a road atlas but if you are setting up a talk or something these are super useful to keep on hand I would definitely expect each vehicle you have to have a road atlas as well for locations outside of the US Rand McNally and Michelin are your best bet for Nations that might not have really nice Maps I navigated all over the Kuwaiti desert with a random McNally map because it was the only one that I could find in country that was in English in Europe things are a bit easier and there are a plethora of companies to choose from which offer many different styles of road map however if you are in Russia or China I'm afraid you are out of luck for the most part during the Cold War the Soviet Union knew the utility of road maps so they intentionally made them incorrectly distances between cities were just slightly inaccurate and some roads did not even exist or were slightly in the wrong place and of course many entire cities were simply left off the map entirely since the concept of the closed city was heavily used in the Soviet Union most road maps were just wrong enough for Citizens not to notice but if an American military unit were to capture one and use it to navigate and more importantly calculate fuel consumption the map would be incorrect enough to throw off these calculations thankfully with the collapse of the Soviet Union Russian road maps are a lot more accurate nowadays however there are some ghosts of the past on some road maps that you'll find throughout Russia in Russia you can never really be sure of anything especially the truth in today's world China being the predominant communist Society on Earth has carried this idea into the 21st century China's national GPS system is intentionally inaccurate by sometimes hundreds of meters this takes from the American idea of Collective availability back in the early days of GPS satellites the American government did exactly the same thing citing national security reasons for the intentional degradation of GPS accuracy China has taken things one step further and with the cooperation of Google has also skewed the satellite imagery of the entirety of China as well in other words if you are in China using Google Maps from a smartphone you will appear to be in the right place but you don't know that both the Communist party and Google are working together to make sure that you never really know the true GPS coordinates of where you are standing at least until China outright banned Google Maps from within their country which seems to flip-flop back and forth quite a lot these days but this also applies to stepping up their Crackdown on accurate GPS receivers this is also why Coca-Cola got into some hot water with China back in 2013 since they put GPS units in their trucks for delivery drivers local Communists found the devices in Coca-Cola trucks which triggered a complaint and expanded into a full-blown investigation this is why no one in China truly knows where anything is with any accuracy unless you break Chinese law and take a handheld GPS to China specifically a GPS unit that uses one of the non-chinese satellite constellations you will always be dozens or sometimes hundreds of meters off the same thing applies to simple paper maps they can be quite inaccurate again with post-soviet Nations this is becoming less of a factor but you can again spot some holdovers from the past on Modern Maps however some Nations like India are locking down even more India does not scramble or Jam GPS data yet as far as I know but they do treat map making as a state secret with only pre-approved Indian companies being able to make any sort of map within the borders of the nation it is with this in mind that we must remember that Any Nation who possesses GPS navigation satellites can decide to one day turn that service off or degrade it significantly we have discussed how rare this scenario is in our video on satellite Communications but it is always technically a possibility it doesn't necessarily mean that we have to stop using GPS altogether right it's still a very powerful tool but it also brings modern vulnerabilities with terrestrial GPS jamming becoming a basic fundamental of Modern Warfare returning to a more traditional paper-only navigational method might be worthwhile not just as a backup but as a primary means of navigation all of this is important to consider no matter what map you choose you think you're just going to go buy a roadmap off the shelf and that might work for you but it also might be highly inaccurate some Nations might not appreciate accurate Maps being made of their country and some private companies are eager to bend over backwards to sell their customers a Lie by making a map that is not accurate another map that's helpful to have is a pocket atlas of the world the explanation of why a pocket Atlas is important it goes back to the original question of why maps are so important for the analyst or for anyone operating in the 5th generation battle space one thing that will assassinate your credibility really quickly is if you don't know where something is but somebody else does if the person you are briefing knows more about the geography than you do you probably should not be briefing but rather having a two-way conversation to exchange the information you have geography is not something that is commonly studied and analysts deployed around the world doesn't usually do too much pre-deployment work or study they're supposed to but it doesn't happen that much in the professional world because most people have the mentality of learning when they get there every single time I've deployed this has been a major issue that I've seen people being in country and not even knowing what district they're standing in that's fair enough for the average Soldier who's fresh out of basic training and got a lot of other Soldier stuff to know I can forgive them for not knowing every District in a province by heart on their first day but for the analyst you better know that country more than your own hometown no there's not much value in knowing the provincial capital of a province way over on the other side of the country but if you don't know it you'll look like an idiot analysts are supposed to know this stuff or so people think that's the curse that analysts are faced with constantly a good chunk of the learning curve for analysts is simply knowing geography anyone who studies geography and history is automatically miles ahead of their peers when working in a job that requires really any kind of analysis but say you don't want to be an analyst sure you might want to keep tabs on things and have kind of a general Intel picture of your area but you don't want to make this your full-time job right is a pocket Atlas still useful I think so yes for one it's something to study even at a very broad level knowing where certain nations are on this Earth is pretty important if nothing more than because of how our modern news Cycle Works most Americans get their news from alternative media sources these days sources which even though they're vastly better than mainstream Legacy Media they might not know this significance of an event in other words you might see a headline that reads Chinese bomber sighted off the island of Luzon if you don't have an atlas you might gloss over that headline or just not really know what's going on because you know China is always in the news with Taiwan and all kinds of stuff right but if you had a map to show you the context of where this location is you might be able to conclude that oh this is in the Philippines this might be something pretty big right this is not just your standard Taiwan stuff because that alone makes it pretty handy you increase your knowledge of the world around you simply by every time you see a news article that references a location that you're not familiar with just pull out your Atlas and see where it's at you can't usually get historical or cultural context from a map but you can get geographical context which helps if you are really lost in the sauce and thrown into a situation where you've only got your fuzzy memories of Pub trivia and 8th grade social studies to help you having a map on hand makes your life a lot easier it sounds like a really specific situation to prepare for but I myself have seen this happens so many times I'm inclined to think it's more routine than we might think after all Fubar and snafu situations are the norm not the anomaly especially in a fifth generation war with all that's happening around the world constantly it seems like it's endless right the last thing we need is to not know where things are happening and a low-cost compact pocket Atlas can help with that another useful type of map to have are aeronautical charts these are usually also called VFR sectionals these are very useful for understanding when aircraft are outside of standard traffic routes these are also useful for getting local airport frequencies again another very specific type of thing to be concerned about or prepared for but I have noticed a lot of changes within the commercial Aviation Community since covet changes which do not reassure me as a passenger from Pilots dying suddenly and Airlines exploring the idea of flying with only one pilot due to Pilot shortages and maintenance issues in parts shortages my gut feeling is that the risks associated with commercial airline travel are much higher than in the past I'm sure the aviation Community would disagree and assure that everything is just as safe as it's always been that's fine I guess but I don't want to be the statistic that proves me right and one of my own personal habits goes back to an old Aviator saying any land you fly over you may have to walk over and in many places on Earth the walking isn't good likewise anytime I am trusting someone else to transport me from one place to the next I always carry a map or usually several maps of the route we should be taking just in case I will admit in the rare occasion I fly commercially I Don't Take Along aeronautical charts of the whole route that would mean bringing along a lot of maps but I do like to have something from a military perspective on the ground I think it should be mandatory for most military units to have civilian aeronautical charts of their area of operations let's face it an awful lot of civilian air Liners in the past have been shot down by mistake by military forces around the world if a military unit plans for civilian aircraft to be in their area they need to have the aeronautical chart that the civilian pilot is using relying on civilian planes to constantly monitor 121.5 megahertz the the international emergency frequency for aircraft relying on them to monitor this is a farce because they just don't do it a lot of the time even though they're required to right but what pilots absolutely do monitor is the frequency for the Tower or controller in their area which is listed on the map the map gives you the frequencies of every tower that is in American airspace at least bottom line is that if you absolutely need to talk to an aircraft or listen to one in a life or death emergency and you need to be 100 sure that they are hearing you you need to know the frequency they are most likely to monitor which is on the map I know that for me personally I monitor all Aviation radio air traffic around me pretty much at all times certainly if there seems to be increased levels of military traffic or something strange is going on or there's a national event underway this is a very deep rabbit hole that will make a lot more sense when we cover this topic specifically so don't get all bent out of shape about it just yet for now in the middle of the woods out of cell service range really the only way you'd know the local frequencies to monitor is if you have a scanner or a scan function on your receiver or if you have the map with the frequencies on it again a really specific scenario to prepare for and it's probably not helpful for most of you but it may be for some so I thought I'd mention it sort of along the same lines as Aviation Maps nautical charts may be helpful for some or a waste of time for others when I lived by the coast I always had nautical charts on hand of the immediate area nowadays I don't really use them so much rather than using these to get radio frequencies my biggest use of nautical charts was simply navigation nautical charts list all of the navigational markers along waterways which is helpful to know if you find yourself taking fairy rides a lot certainly if you have a boat yourself nautical charts can be pretty helpful to have just in case for me since nautical charts aren't really a priority at the moment I load them onto the GPS I use daily it's a lot easier to do these because usually these are kind of a one thing you buy them and download them or get them for free and you're done whereas loading aeronautical charts Aviation maps onto your handheld GPS is a little bit more difficult because those are usually subscription based so either way nautical charts are something you could easily just you know one time one and done because the geography of the earth doesn't change that much whereas aeronautical charts they expire after a certain period of time they're not good permanently they're only good for I think six months at a time but they don't usually change that much when it comes to nautical charts I've I usually load them again onto my personal GPS that way I've got them if I suddenly find myself in coastal waters for some reason but again it's not going to take up any space in my bag because it's on my GPS if I was using charts more heavily for actual navigation or if I was located near near the coast I would absolutely have a paper copy on hand to supplement the GPS right another rather specific kind of map you might find interesting are the nifc fire Maps these maps are produced by the National interagency Fire Center and are really meant for firefighting Pilots responding to wildfires throughout the western United States these are really useful for monitoring firefighting operations in your area they're also handy for identifying potential hazards to Aviation firefighting aircraft and firefighting Pilots have a very unique Mission they fly at low altitude usually in very remote areas sometimes in poor visibility all in support of forces on the ground so they need a map that primarily shows everything they could potentially fly into while working a fire as a result these Maps kind of bridge the gap between aerial operations and people on the ground it's not not quite an aeronautical chart but it's also not quite a topographic map either it has elements of both which I personally find quite useful the downside is that these maps are really only available for the western United States where wildfires are more of a we're large and you know Crown fires are more of a problem right so if you live outside those areas you're you're kind of out of luck at the minimum if you didn't want to print out the map for your specific area you can easily print out the overall map of Aviation frequencies used by Wildfire responding agencies handy to be able to monitor firefighting operations in your area again if there is any kind of government agency operating in my area I want the same map that they have as a brief side note regarding you know monitoring frequencies and things like that over the years Emergency Services have made it abundantly clear that they don't want any help from citizens so I personally would never transmit on these or any government frequencies even in a life or death emergency same idea behind why many people won't do CPR on a stranger anymore the the financial liability is too great for many people things are getting nasty out there it shouldn't be the way the world works but it's just one of the things that it's a sad illustration of of the way the world is now so all of that being said I the private citizen want to be on the same sheet of music as whomever is in my neighborhood for monitoring purposes sort of along the same line are U.S forest service road maps these are handy to have if you are operating in or near federal land in the United States I personally am not too big of a fan of these but they may have some use for you so I wanted to mention it one of the biggest downsides to these is that they are not free even the digital versions you have to pay for there are no free downloads at all as far as I can see which is odd considering the U.S forest Service is entirely funded by tax dollars but anyway these maps are unique in that they show a lot of trails and logging roads that are not on other Maps these are of course only available for national forests though and sometimes they're out of date by a couple of decades I've seen of some maps in the past tasks that have not been updated literally in 30 years so these Maps can be helpful for you but one important note is to check various sources for kmz files of your local area who knows somebody may have converted these trails to a kmz for your GPS which you might be able to download for free GPS file depot.com is a good resource for this as people can download a lot of trails in their local area for free not a perfect solution by any means but it's worth checking out before purchasing anything up next another very specific kind of map but underground maps maps that detail the Subterranean environment this is something more specific to those who live in cities with underground Transportation maps of subway tunnels are critical for the urban landscape most cities publish their Metro tunnels on City or County GIS websites so if you make your own maps you can easily incorporate that data knowing where underground tunnels are located is pretty handy for when a volcano erupts in the downtown area or if a slightly more likely to disaster occurs such as a gas main explosion or a sinkhole forms the other side of the coin is that Subterranean combat is a staple of urban Warfare which is something that has become a higher priority for the US military over the past few years large training schools have been stood up to accommodate the future of underground Warfare though it's probably pretty unlikely for citizens to take to the City sewers to fight crime in some parts of the world Metro stations and tunnels have been a vital Lifeline for citizens from the Battle of Britain to modern day Ukraine citizens instinctively seek protection Underground when the bombing starts so having a map of the tunnel you may be Sheltering in is a wise forethought if you think Urban combat is likely in your area I personally would also include sewers drainage basins or large underground electrical hubs as well really any location where a person can fit underground that might offer protection from above knowing where that manhole cover in the street goes is pretty important for survival in the a very rare occasion you have to do something like this for me I do not live anywhere near any kind of underground transportation system but since I again often feel a more analytical role I try to keep on hand maps of the most famous Metro systems just so that when an incident occurs I can know where that particular stop is maps of New York City Washington DC Tokyo Paris London all of these are fairly handy to have on hand especially as Terror attacks have been a norm for a long time for those of you looking to expand your repertoire and study the geography of an area a bit more thoroughly than just looking at a map I can recommend a couple of different books first of all is the CIA World Factbook yes it comes from a very Infamous agency but a lot of people love this publication so I thought I would mention it I personally don't really find it to be that useful honestly Wikipedia is a much better source for understanding a country so that should that should tell you enough right however the CIA World effect book and maps go hand in hand at least in military circles this publication is mostly displayed online for free but you can buy a physical copy which is published every year the print copy looks a lot like a phone book though and it doesn't have any Maps but many people begrudgingly myself included have spent days pouring over the Factbook sections on the nation I would soon be going to this is a bit of an old school way of doing things but with this book and a good map of the country you're going to this can set you up pretty nicely if you don't have access to the internet but again it's not my favorite resource the information is really lackluster and and very simplistic in most cases I would much rather go with the next resource which are the Lonely Planet travel guides again travel guides are more of an old school thing but they're chock full of very useful information about a particular country or area travel guides like the Lonely Planet guides usually contain a lot of maps which in conjunction with historical and cultural context that's really really valuable maps and geography in general are only one half of the puzzle you need to know what happened on that land and why culture developed the way that it did in a particular area though a lot of very powerful people are trying to rewrite history to fit a narrative in most cases today culture history and geography go hand in hand to paint a picture of an entire country right simple tourist travel guides are pretty much the best Publications we have to help bridge this Gap and supplement our knowledge of a region yes it is true that these guides along with every other travel guide no matter what brand you want to go with they're written for the tourist someone who's on vacation or traveling for leisure and not really planning for or defending against an invasion for instance so there's a lot of information that isn't necessarily directly useful from a prepared citizen perspective on the other hand the truth is that if the average tourist knows more about a country than a military organization does that organization is not likely to be very successful this is all the more important for City citizens living in countries where their own government is trying to kill them for people living in those situations simply being familiar with political or jurisdictional boundaries can be important for survival it is for these reasons that I personally like to plan for the worst case scenario and plan for the situation of having to leave whatever country I'm in on foot I want to have the maps travel guides and knowledge on hand so that if I had to I could walk to the nearest international border and know a little bit about the country I might be egressing too is this overly paranoid probably but sometimes paranoia is your subconscious mind's way of alerting you to Danger that your conscious mind hasn't noticed yet this little trick in particular I picked up from my time overseas call it an insurance policy for if I had to make my own way home on foot before we wrap things up I really briefly wanted to touch on what I know a lot of people are going to have questions about which is the debate of paper maps versus digital copies or mapping applications on your phone or GPS personally I think there is a lot of value in both but I all always want to have a lot of physical paper maps on hand if I can especially Maps which I believe would really be only used in a situation where technology is not going to be an option so paper maps will always have a place in my gear however I can't carry every map that I may need that's just not realistic with a handheld GPS I can carry maps of the entire planet for zero additional weight or packing space so it's all a balance paper Maps GPS units and even smartphone apps all have their place with each one complementing the other I like to have every single map possible on a handheld GPS but I also prefer to have at minimum a paper topographic map if on foot along with a basic roadmap and also a more Regional map as well paper maps are easy to spread out on the hood of a car and figure out where you're going you can't really do that with a phone or handheld GPS also in some parts of the world the only Maps you might have are paper ones I myself had to resort to using old Soviet maps for Mission plan and travel all over Southwest Asia simply because nobody had bothered to make a fresh map of the area since the Soviet Union collapsed sure the srtm elevation data is available globally which is why we have global maps but in some of the more remote areas on the planet the most accurate maps to navigate by are paper maps from decades ago sometimes you can digitize a paper map to create an overlay for your GPS I've covered this neat trick in our video on ATAC overlays so check that out if you want to learn how to do this creating overlays is really for smaller scale Maps like building floor plans city parks or other comparatively small areas once you start overlaying larger Maps the map datum and coordinate systems start becoming a problem because they have to match what your GPS is using this is not a problem that's easy for beginners to solve and can seriously confuse navigation efforts so I would recommend staying away from homemade overlays that are very large and cover a large area but for stuff like drone imagery or floor plans it's a pretty cool feature you can take advantage of on pretty much any handheld GPS one of the main advantages of studying maps and becoming more familiar with your area it's a pretty serious topic locals will always know their environment better than someone from a large and Powerful organization that might be hunting them some Stasi agents sitting in a field office isn't going to be studying Maps that's for sure and even if they are they certainly will not be able to know as much as they need to knowing the land is one of the very few advantages that prepared citizens have in our modern times knowing the geography of your area might not save you from the gulag but not knowing your area makes that trip a guarantee this is why stuff like ipb is so important but it's way more than just studying the local Terrain in your immediate area if you hope to have any maneuverability in our modern world or if you have to make a run for the Border or something else you need to do more than just memorize your local area but since no one can memorize thousands of miles of terrain Simply Having a general over overview of the region around you is helpful should the worst happen on the less foreboding side of things I've found that usually the time where I need to do land nav the most is when I was not planning on doing land nav sure there are a lot of times when I'm hiking through the woods or otherwise planning to use a map and Compass to get where I'm going but there have been times where I'm in a vehicle and suddenly find myself having to navigate on foot it's never Pleasant to have a mechanical breakdown and have to hump it out on foot but over the years I've found myself needing alternative foot-based transportation quite a lot a friend drops you off across town but they can't come pick you back up again for a few hours your company bus breaks down and you've got to walk to your shift on foot the airport shuttle hasn't arrived so you've got to walk from the parking area the Convoy That was supposed to come back to you didn't arrive or it's too full so you've got to go back to base on foot okay maybe that last one is a special situation but all of the rest of these are situations that are fairly common scenarios that without a clear understanding of where you're going could turn into to a much more serious problem we may not be navigating miles through rugged mountains every day but sometimes we have to walk around an unfamiliar City for a couple of miles a map that can be discreetly referenced would be nice to have on the other hand having clean professional Maps can make your job a bit easier if you work in certain career Fields I know not everybody wants to be an analyst but man is it really slick to be able to walk into your boss's office put a map board in front of them and give a two-minute briefing on a topic people are much more likely to listen to you if you are prepared and having appropriate and professional maps to illustrate what you're talking about is fairly convincing throughout my career I've got away with a lot more than I probably should have by doing just that of course that's my own personal experience and not everyone is going to benefit from something like that but I would find it quite refreshing to see more of this in the prepared Citizen Community in that case a professional common operating picture would be great for working with others if I roll up to someone's talk and and they have one in the first place that would be great uh bonus points if they actually have accurate and helpful maps to display important information but the best part it doesn't even have to be a talk I've walked into friends homes as they prepare to defend against a riot to find the dining room table has become an operations room to me this is so much more impressive and motivating than a full-blown military talk our nation was founded and defended by dudes with maps on their dinner table so the average guy who works a day job but at night turns his kitchen table into a talk that's A-Okay in my book average people using the tools they have to work through a problem maybe that's not so average after all that signals to me that this person is ready to go to work and is prepared for problems that don't require a rifle to solve as always our goal here is to look at things from the perspective of the prepared citizen living through our Strange and pretty tough times and a lot of the time the tactics used and developed by the military are sometimes not a good fit a lot of this military Doctrine might as well be a foreign language to a lot of people which is completely understandable that's why skills like this are important having maps on hand to get everyone on the same page track events in a local area and even have a general idea of what's going on outside your local area these are important things for every citizen to be familiar with these days even if the internet doesn't think it's cool yet so try it out and see what works you'll never get any better if you don't try and it always seems to be the everyday emergencies that become life-altering events when more serious things occur speaking of my own experiences I've never regretted carrying multiple maps with me but there have been several times when I wished I had one and having one less thing to worry about would really help if you have to fight in the shade
