A U.S. military radar site in Greenland first picked up Santa’s sleigh a few minutes after take off. Just a few moments later, personnel at the arctic research station in Svalbard, Norway were able to see the red light of Rudolph’s nose as Santa flew overhead. Owing to the tremendous speed at which Santa travels are various technological improvements that have been made to his sleigh this year. The lead Elf team in charge of maintenance and northern transportation has confirmed that new hypersonic upgrades have improved Santa’s sleigh, allowing him to reach speeds higher than before.
