d. For exterior walls, tamping of breaching charges may be impossible because of enemy fire.
Thus, the untamped charge normally requires twice the explosive charge to produce the same
effect as a tamped charge (Figure F-13).

When enemy fire prevents an approach to the wall, the breaching charge can be attached
to a pole and slid into position for untamped detonation at the base of the wall (Figure F-14).
